@@GlaGlaGlaTRIP Yeah, I know. It was great to hear it live that night. And also I am really happy that so many people come here again and again and realize what a great Band TBP is and also… that‘s my favorite AphexTwin Track. ♥️
I bet no one attending this show knew to wich song they were listening and that doesn't matter but that goes to show how of a genre bender Aphex Twin is together with The Bad Plus for this version of Flim.
It's a musical toy, not really an instrument per se. He cranks it and it makes those doinkly sounds. He likes to use it live, not as much on recordings.
what's that "wupp-wupp-wupp" sound at the end? or is it "wukh-wukh-wukh"? i can't tell. i'm kinda confused. love the whole performance though! LOVE it!
Yeah, this is nice; but this can't hold a candle to the Domi and JD Beck cover of it. JD Beck's drumming on that cover is just even more insane than this; as far as accurately reproducing the original programmed drum tracks.
Great effort. Drums amazing. But where’s the synth line??!!! Cello would’ve been perfect in place of it - it’s what the whole track was leading up to. Couldn’t they have found a cellist - it’s only four notes?
It is a cover of a song called Film by Aphex Twin. No one is trying to spell Film and failing. It's been two years. You've had long enough to google it.
@@py_a_thon but we aren't bad at catching the best either. The drummer ruined the song as he was assuming this is a high bpm song. This song is calm and relaxing and he's playing it like Blink-182 lol
@@hamtaroyt Travis barker could never pull off this jazz elusive rhythm that dances around the melody, thus it doesnt sound like blink at all. This is a cover and he is taking artistic freedom to improvise. Also this cover is drum centered obviously and thats a decision of the band. It is supposed to sound different and its a take i like a lot. Aphex twin imo would approve given he loves playing around with rhythms and time signatures in his songs.
Not nearly. The Bad Plus did it before it was cool and Dave King here is more tasteful with how he introduces more complex rhythms and leaves the time signature then comes back.
Dave king has such a beautiful vocabulary
Das...äääääh....läuft!
So beautiful, especially the drums. I always find myself coming back to this
I couldn't love this more...drummer is other worldly
Dave King is seriously one of the best drummers ever.
indeed, the touch is just perfect :)
Yeah I'm admiring how close it is to the programmed drums. Certified wizard
Indeed, I was just about to write the same thing
Zach hill tho
and he's sooooo iconoclastic!
fr tho he's like my favorite drummer
More people should make Flim covers. The Bad Pus doing this introduced me to their band in 2005 or so.
Similar, I saw them live and was digging it, but THEN! "WTF THEY COVERIN AFX!?!"
Domi and jd beck just did a cover
That snare 🖤
find myself coming back to this from time to time
Fuckin INCREDIBLE work by the drummer.
Beautiful song done very well! Great job! I cant imagine covering such an all over the board kind of song.
Wow would have loved to have seen this live my favorite Aphex song performed live. Love the bad plus rendition. Bravo, Dave is a machine
Epic bass line
やべーなw 電子音を基軸とするTechnoとは対極にありそうな生演奏なのに、特にDrumsのブレークビーツの再現がヤヴァいwww
Insane !!!
One of the best covers I've ever heard, awesome work. Thank you to The Bad Plus!
Reminds of the way in which Miles and Shorter keep playing the melody to "Nefertiti" over and over again while the rhythm section improvises.
Reminds me of Runnin & Gunnin with Ron Miles
Can you post a link? Sounds amazing 👏

spot one, it's sublime
I love the way Wayne & Miles are so languid and loose with each other every time they start that melody. The timing is so deliciously different.
Amazing cover 😮 ❤
Crazy sound crazy drummer .
Incredible drums work ...
Brilliant.
The videos duration is 4:20, and I'm getting high off of these scattering snares
1st thing I noticed!
absolutly great!
exactly!
The sloth man angers me with his assumed disdain for such a wonderful piece of music. Amazing cover
The bass guy makes this great!
Drummer working 💪 hard on this cover. Great job
Oooooh yes.
What an incredible rendition, I would have loved to have been there!
All hail Dave King!
ahhh come on hes just a totally normal average guy (whos really, really, incredible good at drums and also has a solid sense of humour)
Whohooo what a drum set … luv it ❤
Great version
Wow wow wow! ❤ this is amazing
i love your for this, such talent!
This audience, they can’t handle this
Wow
If you like this, check out Shobleader, ... Tom Jenkinson playing his Squarepusher music with a live band. Siiiick drumming as well. Enjoey :-p
Amazing
In the moment i saw this video thought: " B- flat!!"
Drums wow
Great stuff!!
we are number one
Such a shame that the recording quality is not so good enough

What percussion does drummer play at 3:46 ?
sounds like Four Tet, I want it

I don’t know what’s more amazing, that they got a sloth into a suit or that they taught it to play piano
Haha
