They just like to see people get upset. It makes them forget their own impotence and failure at life, feeling like they have power over someone else. @AionicApe: It's hard to say when it comes to luck, since billionaires are luckier to an almost incomprehensible degree. The general thought is that the billionaires should give back because them giving back has bigger consequences, and the energy spent for others to give back would be much better spent on advocating for policy to force billionaires to give more back until they are no longer billionaires. For example if you have a million dollars, you giving away most of it will make much less of a difference than if you inspire policy to be enacted for billionaires to give some of their billions back, since despite how much money a million dollars is to give, it's much less compared to several billion dollars to give.

Right now, i have a brain tumor, and i can't afford medication or food, and life for me isn't good. But some people who bitch and complain about Charlie helping other people is something that even hurts my heart immensely. Charlie is one of the most giving youtubers out there and to complain just because you didn't get what you want is wrong on so many levels. I haven't been seen either but i'm not getting angry or jealous of these people, i am HAPPY for these people who Charlie sends money to. I'm not the only person in the world, and there are other people around that need help. I really think that people need to stop and think about what they are doing. This is the kind of thing that will stop Charlie from doing anything ever again and i wouldn't blame him. Coming from someone who is down and out, there are more people than myself who need help and anyone who is able to find that help i am genuinely happy for. I just don't understand people anymore. The idea is that 'hell' is the consequence of life, because everyone will do something bad that will make them guilty and suffer justice. Jesus did the opposite of threaten. He stated the reality as he saw it(if we're thinking from an outside perspective) and then gave people a way out of that concept, with another concept about being a decent person and letting all the bad stuff you did go using loyalty to him as the release. Then people could decide if they were gonna keep on living with the old concept, move on to the new one, or pretend neither existed. And when you die you find out who was right 😅 in the culture Jesus entered into he was actually VERY LIBERAL compared to the people in charge at the time. So it's really like he removed current threats, which means he was giving carrot, not stick.
Thats the basic idea. It actually is a really simple concept. It's just taught complicated and people make it worse by trying to force it. Jesus himself was very chill outside of when he scolded people who actually knew what they were doing was wrong. In which case, those people really don't need defending. And if hell doesn't exist then they're fine anyway. 😂

The quote is not saying we should punch others, it fits Charlie's position and it means others should stop treating everything as a joke, cuz it might affect somebody's real life. But some words and disrespectfulness? Nah.
Also, getting punched in the face doesnr change anything. Just makes you respect someone less than before. For this exact reason to. Youre punching someone in the face becahse of words, why would that make literally anyone respect you?

The key concept people aren't understanding here is that even if it is a tax write off, YOU STILL SPENT THE MONEY! All "writing it off" would do is make it so that you don't owe taxes on the contribution. So if you give $1000 to charity, taking a "write off" means you don't have to pay the $30 in taxes or whatever associated with that $1000. This reminds me of an incident that took place a few years ago in my country. There is an area where every year several storms will come and fuck everything up, so people's lives there mostly depend on donations and most of that comes from charity campaigns organized by celebrities and humanitarian organizations. But one day, someone made up a story that people never received money and that the organizations and celebrities lied to everyone, for no reason at all. And for some reason, this hypothetical story became famous on Facebook (on par with Twitter in the US) and newspapers started massively reporting on the story even though there was no evidence and people actually believed it. The story became so serious that there were people suing celebrities, but the only problem was that the people filing the lawsuits had nothing to do with it, they didn't live near where the disaster took place or participate in the charity campaigns as if they doing it just for attention. After the government stepped in and investigated, the result was that it was all internet BS. However, the images of participating celebrities and charity campaigns were completely destroyed so no celebrity dares to participate in charity campaigns anymore because they are afraid that such an incident will happen again and affect their career. So from then on, those affected by natural disasters never received any donations, and most people on Facebook still thought they did the right thing.

While giving a gift is not deductible, taxes on gifts can be pretty daunting because you actually have to pay taxes twice. A large portion of it is taxed before you ever receive it, and then what you actually receive is taxable income

Even if it was a tax write-off, all that means is you wouldn't pay taxes on the money you donated. You still lost the money, it's just a difference of giving it to the government vs giving it to charity. Since the tax rate isn't 100%, you actually lose more money when you donate. If you donate $100 taxed at 50%, you would have given $50 of that money to the government and kept the rest. The loopholes that exist revolve around poorly appraised art (for example, saying a painting is worth $1,000,000 and donating the painting, when the painting is really only worth $500).

Another possible loophole abused by the hyper wealthy is having close associates who have setup organizations that can receive charitable contributions. Then they can make backroom deals to donate X amount and get more of a kickback than if they were just paying the taxes and pocketing the rest. And of course campaign contributions, while not charitable, provide an easy outlet for at least one direction of the transaction as they are not taxed and the limit is quite high compared to personal gifts.

tax write offs have some power between charity and work expenses, but it isn't as grandiose as people make it out to be like its some sort of tax evasion/theft. Work expense is a great one for tax write-off (ie: being a streamer and buying video games and listing them) you get a generous bit back for that, but again its not an infinite money glitch like said lol it's just reducing the expense and giving you a bonus at tax season. It doesnt just give you a bunch of free shit. Streamers pay around 15% in taxes, I imagine they get some hefty returns after reaching a decent size but I've also seen streamers go negative in taxes and have to pay back a shit ton too because they didnt file properly. It's similar to most cases.

common misconception: rich people donate money because tax writeoffs!!! they make more money that way!!
fact: it is NOT profitable to donate money. it is ALWAYS more profitable to NOT donate money.
    Example:
    A person making $100,000 a year
if they dont donate money, they pay $14,261 in Federal income taxes, making their take home (before state and other taxes) $85,739
if that same person donates $10,000 that year, the tax writeoff is $10,000. That does NOT mean they only pay $4,261 in taxes. It means they pay taxes as though they made ($100,000 - $10,000) that year. Meaning they would still pay $12,061 in taxes.
    in short:
person who doesn't donate anything gets to keep $85,739 after taxes
person who DOES donate gets to keep only $77,939
The ONLY exception to this rule is donating ART. Rich people will buy art, get it appraised by a friend who says its worth a lot more than it is, then donate it to an art museum and write off a lot more in taxes than they paid for it. THAT is the scam, donating cash is NEVER profitable.

Yeah, this is the part that everyone always gets wrong. It's not the money you give away. It's the tax on the money you give away, which will always be significantly less. It's similar to how people think: if you make 1 dollar more to the point you go into the next tax bracket, it moves all your earnings into the next tax bracket. No, only that 1 dollar gets taxed at the higher rate, and any money past it. (I only bring this up because giving money away to try to drop into another tax bracket only works on the money until you are in the lower tax bracket. You were already getting taxed at the lower amount for the leftover money anyway.)

I don't imagine a lot of people in their life have the energy to deal with that for long.
EDIT: people keep trying to justify this with excuses like "they've been wronged". They haven't. They're miserable people who want to make others miserable with them, because their lack of empathy makes it impossible for them to understand others can have it. They can't comprehend kindness because they can't be kind, not because others weren't kind. People who accuse any sign of kindness as a plot for selfish gains is a selfish person who would try that if they were in that position, that's why they accuse others of it. What’s crazy to me is even if you could write it off that doesn’t negate the good you did. You’re still giving money to people who needed or wanted it. People will find reasons to be mad over anything.

Exactly.. I'm still wondering in what broken delusional mind does that stain the act in ANY WAY? People are dumb as rocks man.

Even if he had the worst intentions, spending 10,000 just to get a 2,000 tax savings would be a completely retarded strategy to make money. You only get a portion of what you spend. Fucking no one understands that

This shit baffles me. If you could make money by donating money, people would be tripping over themselves to donate their money.

Even if this was a tax write off (which it isn't), you are helping so many people and its a nice thing to do regardless. You didn't have to do any of this and give people money.

You giving back to your audience is such a sweet thing to do, and you do it randomly so theres absolutely no reason why anyone could be mad
