They’ll give the basic version to EOD holders and say “you got the DLC, you want more and it will be an upgrade charge!” While also pushing the more expensive full version everywhere.

@@lanabobana3311 So someone apologizing for hurting your feelings after you make it clear to them is wrong? Guess it depends on what you confront them for. Like if you confront someone about denying the holocaust, then yeah... "I'm sorry that you feel that way." is an awful response. But if someone accidentally hurt your feelings and you confront them about THAT, then that response would be perfectly fine, empathetic even.
@@Ss4Goten There's obvious nuances and context to take into consideration with that, and you're honestly just twisting it, someone apologizing for hurting your feelings and someone saying "sorry you feel that way about it" are two different things, ones more likely to be genuine, and ones a slap in the face.
@@Ss4Goten No, saying I'm sorry you feel that way is essentially just saying "Sorry you're a little baby and got your feelings hurt over nothing" The correct way to be empathetic in a situation like that is to take responsibility, even if it was an accident, and say "I'm sorry -I- made you feel that way." It's very nuanced but it's the difference between putting the blame entirely on the other person and almost making it seem like they're annoying you for sharing their dumb feelings with you that they shouldn't have or taking responsibility for your accident

It's what my narcissistic (genuine napd) abusive step dad used to say *all the time* with an arrogant tone as well lol, it makes my skin crawl and tells me enough about a person
It's not as inappropriate as many people think, but it very much is a way to not apologize to someone. It's basically a polite way to tell people you have no intention of apologizing to them, but many people seem to lump it in with gaslighting (it can theoretically be used to gaslight someone, but you really can feel sorry that someone feels a certain way without being incredibly rude). Heck, I still think "I'm sorry" in response to hearing about a tragedy that happened to you is a bit offensive since a friend apologizing for something they didn't do doesn't help solve any problems, but most people seem to disagree with me.
@@Ilivedbih grammatically, it's reasonable, and in some contexts, can actually be evidence of good character. You hit the nail on the head there: it's all about tone and context. I had similar parents and it's interesting how the exact same words can count as either real love or blatant emotional abuse depending on the context and tone. It caused me a lot of trauma since it's effectively my parents saying "I'm not willing to validate your feelings" (my parents sometimes think that validating opinions is the same as agreeing with them, which is very toxic to conflate the two for what I still hope are incredibly obvious reasons).
I don't see what the big deal is with that statement (independently of the whole Tarkov situation). "I'm sorry you feel this way" is a perfectly fine apology. This is why one should never apologise, because someone will twist that and say it's not enough. I see this over and over again, people apologising and everyone not accepting it. Then what's the point? Don't apologize and just acknowledge instead. "X was a mistake" and that's it, but never say you're sorry, because people will attack you for it. As for Tarkov... I don't do multiplayer games and I'd be insane to pay 250 USD for it.
I like how Arrowhead made fun of this. 'True Believers can grab the CM-21 Trench Paramedic for only 250 SC, featuring increased pocket size and extra stims! (Not available for free to Super Citizens.)"
The way I see it is this: Let's say you open up a Savings Account with a bank that promises you 10% interest per year. you Put $250 into that account, hoping to recieve 25 bucks next year, and so on, under the stipulation that you can't get the original $250 itself back. so you're only receiving the interest so long as you leave that $250 alone, but you hope that after enough time, the interest itself pays back what you spent for it. But then your bank tells you they won't actually give you this year's interest payment unless you pay, say, an additional 10 bucks or so, which instead of an additional investment, they label it as some sort of Fee to justify it. So technically, you only got $15 profit that year on your investment, And the amount of money you put in is *more* than you originally planned to. See how terrible that sounds? Now replace that interest with the Content you receive for the game, and/or the intended enjoyment you would receive from it. you get less enjoyment overall from the simple fact you had to pay more than you intended for it, *even if you technically still received the original interest payment.*

This was absolutely insane. People paid $150 for an alpha to hope for a full release and all the dlc that comes with it. Now in beta, they release Arena and PvE instead of pushing for 1.0. I hope other studios saw what happened and the backlash the devs received.
Anyone who actually thinks that the game is going to get a full, complete release is hard coping. And I'm not just saying that because of this drama either. The game has been in early access for over 7 years now and still lacks basic functionality, QOL, bugfixes, and on and on. To say nothing of all the missing features that were talked about in roadmaps and the like.

I’m so happy that you are coving this! If you do happen to make a third video on this and happen to read my comment there are two things I think you should point out that are important the first one being that in the unheard edition you are able to “call in for backup” from your friends list. So people can literally have there friends SPAWN in the MIDDLE of a raid! It’s an extraction shooter and I think that’s just game breaking. The second point is that a lot of hackers on EFT have come out and actually have been targeting the Unheard users. Last night I just saw a hacker live-streaming on TikTok going after people who bought the unheard edition and people who play the game were supporting the hacker for doing this . Again thank you for putting a massive spotlight on this issue and just being a great guy. Hopefully you make another video and point these two things out because I think it would show just how, one broken and unfair the unheard edition is and how mad people really are about it.
Yeah, but Train Sim is a highly-specialized, niche product. People who enjoy it are ready to pay for it since there are almost no alternatives. Same thing with The Sims - no existing competition.
@@notsteve5927 I mean, if we are going that route, then sorry to say but extraction shooters and shooters in general are also fairly niche and almost no variable competition inside each category. There are sub genres inside FPS and each game inside their subgenre tends to look and play like every other, it's what makes us even categorize them together. Extraction shooters, military simulators and tactical shooters tend to have one or two games at most. But, most importantly, when a game in that sub genre gets away with increasing monetization, the rest follow suit. My point being, if we are to follow that it's acceptable to pay more in one instance, it will inevitably end up becoming the new model for all.
Train simulator is also a feature complete game that's not still in "early access", beta testing. The main problem isn't the price, it's the blatant p2w features on top of a buggy, broken game that, while fun sometimes, is completely mired by being unfinished and unpolished. Instead of fixing the audio or netcode and monetizing the game through cosmetics, bsg decided it would be best to fuck the playerbase over

The thing about anything he promises that says "when the game releases" is that escape from tarkov has been in beta for 8+ years so we really don't know if it will ever be "released"
nikita said it himself. "you can keep a game in beta state for atleast 5 years to justify bad mechanics and malfunctions." source: /watch?v=aGauDp2cYNQ
If anything, a PvE mode would be LESS intensive since they don't have to pay to keep their servers up for online play. It's supposed to be CHEAPER and they're charging $150 for it?! The main game is already full-priced! And wth, why planning for DLC when the game is still in EARLY ACCESS?! Just pure greed.
Theres a reason that a lot of developers will specify how many / what DLC are included in an upgrade pack. Like saying "the GOTY version gets you the base game and the 4 major planned DLC". Then anything other than the 4 DLC will obviously be separate.
ESO pulled the same thing since subscribers were supposed to get all DLC free so they started calling new major DLC "chapters" and claimed they were not DLC so subs had to pay for them
@@rimanahbvee This is definitely an older thing. You get everything for ESO+ a year late, around that time you can buy the deluxe collection separately for like $25.
Nah, tbh i dont anybody is capable of beating the "pay a dollar every time you want to reload your gun" concept, cause that shit is literally straight out of meme EA slander, and that guy seriously wanted it to be a reality
The insane pricing model currently used by the games industry makes people forget that $150 for a pre-alpha game 7 years ago was astronomically high. $250 is just ludicrous.
I can't even remember when even that was acceptable. Even in recent years, people seemed to only tolerate retail release price for early access games. I didn't even want to pay $60 for early access BG3 just because it was early access, and it ended up being one of the hottest games of the year so I'd have gotten my money's worth.
Far Cry 6 did something somewhat similar where you could buy a season pass for all future DLC, but it only gave you the first three and the fourth one was like 40 dollars or something.
The awful thing about this whole entire situation, is that the price still hasnt changed. The game industry does this sooo often: taking 2 steps towards shitty business practices, the community complain and there is massive backlash, so they take 1 step backwards. The community rejoices, but sometimes fail to realise that they still took that one step! The fact that a game sells a 250 dollar dlc is absolutely insane to me, and if they get away with this, it wont be good for players of any game in the futute
It's insane. They're so focused on "ok we'll add a few new perks to it!" Okay... Doesn't change the fact the price tag is actually mr. krabs tier greed.
I think I remember Destiny 1 or 2 doing something similar. Like they released a version or a pack that supposedly included all upcoming DLCs, but then released a different version or expansion pack which was not included
I want to point out that people have theorized for years Streamers have priority matching or even Special lobbies where loot is more plentiful, so them coming and saying they're gonna ACTUALLY HAVE PRIORITY MATCHING pretty much confirms that they have the capability to do such things if they haven't already.
I was playing a game of Insurgency Sandstorm a while back on the PvE mode, and while we were waiting for the round start we were chatting, and someone asked if we played Tarkov. One guy said no, since hackers were so abundant in game. The guy challenged him on it, said maybe it wasn’t so bad and the devs were working on it. This guy then had us join his personal discord server, wherein he provided screenshots from a game hacking server he was a member of. The screenshots were of leaked code and patch information from Tarkov that could assist with workarounds for the new patch. Thing is, the leaks on the server were dated ONE WEEK before the patch actually dropped. Tarkov has been screwed for years from the inside, so this is just digging the hole a little deeper than it already was.
I mean, just do a search for Tarkov cheats and look at their public Discords. There are multiple that have literally *thousands* of active members at basically all points of the day.
8:10 I wonder what will happen for the EOD owners that caved and bought the access through either the full price or discounted upgrade… especially now that half the items that were pay-to-win are being “reworked” or likely removed before the community gets done with them. So basically some people either just dropped $250, $100, or $50 depending on when they bought the edition/upgrade and now they are only getting a portion of what they payed for… while a ton of other EOD owners who waited are just getting the main portion PvE mode for free. He really can’t fix this unfortunately. Also…. With as huge as this got and as many people know about it, They probably are going to lose quite a bit of money spending time developing this mode and essentially giving it away for free to a massive portion of people they were hoping would be paying for it. If not lose money, they definitely won’t be making nearly as much as they planned. Maybe I am wrong and a bunch of new players will somehow miss all of this controversy and just now after years of popularity decide to start playing Tarkov and also buy into the game at the highest tier? I feel that’s unlikely… but maybe there is a bigger market of people with tons of disposable income that still have yet to start playing Tarkov and who will still decide to buy in at the $250 tier despite the controversy. Then again I also might be overestimating how much this dlc cost to develop. Maybe it was a simple thing to develop in a short period of time, therefore keeping development costs very low allowing even small sales to make up for the investment. 😮 Yes it’s entirely their fault because they could have done this in a fair manner and monetized it fairly. I guess it depends on how much time/money this mode costs them to develop if this whole situation still remains profitable for them.
it feels like every update that they release about this situation makes the game seem like less of a game and more of a minecraft server from 2010 being ran on a game, except they actually used to ban most of the people that were hacking on their servers

Yup, I can't comprehend how someone could be that stupid.
4 bots comment streak that's crazy. Plus yeah this is a DLC no matter from which perspective do you see it
The future DLC will probably have 2 versions. A basic version and a full version. Both will be sold but they will 100% push the full version. They’ll give the basic version to EOD holders and say “you got the DLC, you want more and it will be an upgrade charge!” While also pushing the more expensive full version everywhere.
Isn't that still misleading though? Just because there's two versions doesn't magically make one DLC and the other not.
All they need to do is sell shitty skins it's not difficult and everyone is happy.
“I’m sorry you guys are experiencing these feelings” is the exact same as when that job you hated told you “I’m sorry you feel that way” right before you quit. Though it won’t happen, imagine the change they’d implement and offer if even just 25% of their player base completely quit the game and didn’t play it at all in 2024.
It's only streamers and cheaters. Idk why people keep giving this game more money. He actively encourages rmt and cheating. The main revenue stream of BSG is people buying new accounts to cheat. The game has been confirmed to have cheaters in about 80% of maps. It's disgusting.
“I’m sorry you feel this way” is such a shit thing to say because not only it isn’t an apology but it also is a passive aggressive blame shift
I remember once when I was an edgy teenager I said something a teacher didnt like, so I had to go see the principal, who told me I had to apologize.
So I went back to the teacher and said "Im sorry i have to apologize to you" and got detention. 10/10 totally worth it.

Honestly surprised they didn't try to pull off some mental gymnastics by claiming the game is still in beta, and the definition of DLC is extra content released after the game released, so it being released whilst still in beta, and not after the full release, means it isn't DLC.
I was expecting them to try and pull some BS like that.

@@Ss4Goten No, saying I'm sorry you feel that way is essentially just saying "Sorry you're a little baby and got your feelings hurt over nothing"
The correct way to be empathetic in a situation like that is to take responsibility, even if it was an accident, and say "I'm sorry -I- made you feel that way."
It's very nuanced but it's the difference between putting the blame entirely on the other person and almost making it seem like they're annoying you for sharing their dumb feelings with you that they shouldn't have or taking responsibility for your accident

They've set a standard of how games should be. I've played that game more than I want to admit.
The way I see it is this:
Let's say you open up a Savings Account with a bank that promises you 10% interest per year. you Put $250 into that account, hoping to recieve 25 bucks next year, and so on, under the stipulation that you can't get the original $250 itself back. so you're only receiving the interest so long as you leave that $250 alone, but you hope that after enough time, the interest itself pays back what you spent for it.
So thankful to have Charlie to inform people in the community about important issues like this who may have missed it for whatever reason.

Fun fact: Train Simulator 2020 has over $10k worth of DLC
@@mando_dablord2646 i think you get access to current stuff aswell no? like gold road when it comes out, eso+ users should get access no?
@@rimanahbveeyou don’t get the current chapter with a sub you either have to buy it or wait until a new chapter releases to access it.

I'm not sure if there's anyone even capable of being even greedier than these two. Let's hope there isn't
Nah, tbh i dont anybody is capable of beating the "pay a dollar every time you want to reload your gun" concept, cause that shit is literally straight out of meme EA slander, and that guy seriously wanted it to be a reality
they'd probably build a hotel where it costs $1 to take a step on each wooden floor board
I love when someone has an easy way out and refuses to take it.
"I did not foresee the community's reaction" You definitely did foresee, you just didn't have the balls to handle it
The insane pricing model currently used by the games industry makes people forget that $150 for a pre-alpha game 7 years ago was astronomically high. $250 is just ludicrous.
Inflation!!!
@@JoeMartinez18 That’s not inflation, that’s extortion.
Scenes like this are happening all over the galaxy
The awful thing about this whole entire situation, is that the price still hasnt changed. The game industry does this sooo often: taking 2 steps towards shitty business practices, the community complain and there is massive backlash, so they take 1 step backwards. The community rejoices, but sometimes fail to realise that they still took that one step! The fact that a game sells a 250 dollar dlc is absolutely insane to me, and if they get away with this, it wont be good for players of any game in the futute
I remember when people made fun of horse armor.
@@TheSuperappelflap goeie tijden
It's insane. They're so focused on "ok we'll add a few new perks to it!"
Okay... Doesn't change the fact the price tag is actually mr. krabs tier greed.
"I'm sorry you feel that way"
That is like punching me and say, "I'm sorry your face is hurt."
Insurg sandstorm is a fire game, fire as it lights my laptop on fire and it's good
Gawhaw damnnnmm
fact checked into oblivion lmao
every fps game has cheaters out the ass right now tarkovs just bad because rmt cod literally has cheaters in every lobby
All of his responses read as "im not crazy, all of you are crazy"
Yes it’s entirely their fault because they could have done this in a fair manner and monetized it fairly.
