You can tell Charlie isn't lying when he says he doesn't usually go to Reddit's comment section, because as fun as this was, it isn't uncommon for that platform at all. It can get much, much worse and this is just the tip of the iceberg of cringe.
The big proof of Charlie not being a frequent redditor is at 3:17 - the fact he's not aware reddit phased out all of their awards (like Gold and Silver) about a month ago.
This would be a self report, but game subreddits are a lot less prone to cringe imo. Sure there are still some cringe here and there, but it's not really that bad. Maybe I'm just biased though, so there's that
For the most part true. That being said adults who are very openly into MLP make me cringe to no end. I get mad at myself for judging someone based off their hobby, but I just cant help it. If an adult drives around in a car filled to the brim with MLP plushies it just starts ringing my alarm bells. I would say that being insecure about having that hobby would be less cringe than the hobby itself.

I'll preference a reply that I have a bias, but I want to come at this in an open mind. That said, in my entire 11+ years working at TRU, Hot Wheel collectors were by far the ones I had the most difficulties with. No I'm not going to bring out a case of 72 cars when I'd only be able to put out 15-20 out of a total capacity of around 200 so that you can find 2. And I feel even less inclined to do it when you feel entitled to climb the gondolas to pull down a box during the holidays. We did have one regular who was fine and great to have in, but there were fewer of him than the aforementioned offenders.

Only Charlie can go into a common Reddit thread that is found every 20 seconds and make it engaging enough to follow as closely as Game of Thrones while it was still airing.
I just checked his account and in the span of an hour he went onto r/Sikh to be racist and r/dating_advice to tell a 14 year old to slit their wrists. What an outstanding gentleman.
You don’t even need to be a mechanic to know that a 700 Horsepower Ford F150 uses Glow Plugs instead of Spark Plugs. That’s the irony of that Redditor.

That said, watching your bafflement was absolute gold. Edit: I thought my comment was reasonable and certainly not negative in any way. Yet still loads of replies are cruel and toxic. I find this surprising, especially considering the content of this video. I am fully aware that this edit will likely attract more of the same but here goes anyways. Yes, I use Reddit. I looked it up, apparently I created my account in 2016. Reddit happens to be my social media of choice and I scroll on it, according to my phone, 15 minutes a day on average. I choose to believe that the people below who chose to insult me, would never use the same language towards strangers they meet in the street. I suspect sometimes people forget that there is a person behind every comment on every social media platform. I now people will say that I should just ignore them but, believe it or not, those comments are hurtful.
Not defending the Hot Wheels guy as his comments deserve to be clowned on, but is it actually that common for people to go into other Redditors' post/comment history to make fun of something they enjoy in an unrelated topic? I rarely use reddit, but one of my guilty pleasures is finding a reddit treat where someone just doesn't stop arguing and makes themselves look stupider and stupider because they can't stop. They probably sit refreshing the page, desperately hoping the next insult they throw out into the void is going to be the one that miraculously allows them to 'win'.
Reddit is a forum for internet softies. They think they are important because they use it, but its actually the most toxic way to get into a hobby. Case in point, went to the lego subforum. That's when I realized even lego fans can be toxic to each other. There's karma farming there as well.

Yeah... Though, is there any actual "Alpha chad mechanic" stuff that can actually be done in your own garage? I'm not a gearhead but the typical general maintenance stuff like changing spark plugs or oil filters is not particularly difficult. No. I think all the enthusiasm is symptomatic of a lack of ideas for new " content". This particular example is showcasing a lack of something to talk about for this particular time period
I really want to highlight this behaviour because it’s insanely frustrating. A lot of people on social media and reality can’t accept the fact that people will eventually like different things like games, clothes, hobbies, or even politics. They won’t bother to be friends with a person that doesn’t share everything in common.
so true. also as a car person, this is especially true about the car community. for some reason, so many car guys just automatically disassociate themselves from anyone who isn't into it, they think they're above everyone else just because they're into cars. it's become so ridiculously common to see these douchebags going around calling everyone an "NPC" just because they don't care for cars. honestly, its embarassing
Politics is not really on the same level tho. Games, clothes and hobbies of other people don't affect other people's lives. And Im not talking blue vs red of today, Im talking about Germany in the 30's.

I would say that being insecure about having that hobby would be less cringe than the hobby itself.

Imagine having a bad day and going off on people on reddit then finding out that one commentary channel with 13 million subs ALSO clowned you😂
Oh man so roasted 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 historians a 100 years from now will laugh at your comments

I was on the Bearded Dragons subreddit with a post about a very obese beardie, and I legit had someone say I practically called them a c**t because I mentioned the poster shouldn’t overfeed their lizard. It’s crazy how easily Redditors misconstrue literally everything you could say.
I know you commented a month ago but what color is your beardie??

What’s funny is that a peer of mine is super into WWE, she’s pretty much a geek with it, but literally nobody cares, it’s just something she enjoys, so we’re just like “that’s cool,” and that’s that

There is a parallel universe where the dude got called out for liking Hot Wheels and just replied “yeah you got a point, I will shut up now”.
Imagine that.

I love that Charlie finds every day reddit so thrilling.

Honestly those sites are two cheeks on the same ass. Despite how hard they love to shit on each other when you break it down they're both sites filled with dogshit non arguments, mob voting deciding whos 'right' , awful moderation, and full of egotistical 'debate' nerds who can't handle being confronted at all without having a breakdown due to not being as smart as they though they were.
That 60% is Elon Muskoids.
Charlie showing this much enthusiasm towards a 'typical' reddit post shows us that he really doesn't go on Reddit a lot.
I’m glad though. He doesn’t need to be exposed to that horrid place lmao
He’s still a generic failure

They won’t bother to be friends with a person that doesn’t share everything in common.
so true. also as a car person, this is especially true about the car community. for some reason, so many car guys just automatically disassociate themselves from anyone who isn't into it, they think they're above everyone else just because they're into cars. it's become so ridiculously common to see these douchebags going around calling everyone an "NPC" just because they don't care for cars. honestly, its embarassing
honestly this isnt even a social media thing it's just human garbage in general
Politics is not really on the same level tho. Games, clothes and hobbies of other people don't affect other people's lives.
And Im not talking blue vs red of today, Im talking about Germany in the 30's.
