Logano’s input mirrored Hailie’s own on that car. He got wholesale changes even a camber change. Hailie got tire pressure or shock clicks. The last 10 races car was awful. Gotta be honest. Love the show. Having a co-host makes for a better convo. Especially someone like TJ that's been in the sport for a while. The banter it opens up in the show is amazing. Dale opens up more, when he has folks to talk to who've been around the Nascar block. No offense to anyone on the show. None at all. They all do a fantastic job. There is just a fresh element when it's more of a discussion. Random co-hosts are good for the show, imo.

Perhaps it is only Sunday races cursed LOL. Gains more viewers to hype Sunday and of course the city then. As long as all make $$$ including the city in taxes collected and extra 2-mil $ this yr they got from Nascar for overtime of police etc.... Doubt the city will say no to next year.
Will Nascar? If they still got what they want.... and NBC still got enough viewers to claim the most on their network this yr for Nascar. Just still 1-mil less than last year.
To see it as getting more northerners to tune in? I doubt it. So for that reason... most do not care if it comes back to Chicago especially over the 4th. Chicago WILL get its Taste of Chicago Festival just moved back where it belongs. It can fill hotels and brings city folk downtown. So If Chicago did not get what they wanted???? I say no.
I think the better press of skyline views all thru the NBC Saturday broadcast and early part of Sundays....was what city wanted to showcase itself. Free publicity that was not all negative on some media and that it got for showcasing arguably.... the BEST downtown in America. Give it a day like Saturday for the xfinity race.... IT SHINES.

    • @mlwilliam213

The Xfinity race is not a good indicator for the cup race. The Xfinity car races better everywhere. The cup race is actually better because of the rain. In good weather it would be follow the leader.

    • @davidw7
      @davidw7 15 дней назад

@@mlwilliam213 The point was... saying the Race is cursed in Chicago with bad weather. So..... my comment on maybe just Sunday since Saturday and days leading up to the xfinity was great weather.... Saturday was perfect. low to mid 70s clear as can be and Chicago's skyline, lakefront harbor and parks shined. That is the impression the city wanted. Exposure vs all the demonizing by some media vs cities in the right (pun intended) they do not. That is how biased media works. Push cities on a opposing team for bad always and avoid bad for the same things in those in the right states (pun intended).
I watched the whole Saturday Xfinity race and it is still good and the favorite won and that helped with international viewers seeing Chicago also in a good light.
Bad weather has single-file starts vs double and good weather can give more the push to the limit.
Some were ready to jump on weather if they really did not want a push for the north and in a city they see in a terrible light.
I watch videos made by city youtuberers and a couple in Chicago are favs. They showed walkers on Chi streets to saturdays race. Michigan Ave was packed with people... many tourist and some Nascar staff with their blue shirts walking to the race.
Some were them big brawny guys bit overweight and big faces white hair. I never saw SO MANY FRAWNS. Here they are walking among Americas early skyscrapers with intricate details and outdoor cafes with flowers around. Seeing people of all kinds and yes colors. THAT WAS NOT THEIR FANCY and New skyscrapers also.
One guy I saw on a posted video with a Snoww Flakee shirt on... though he was smiling and seemed happy walking.
I know how some think in our toxic environment in division today. I live in PA appalachia retired to my home county. I go to my local volunteer Firehouse where they have bars as clubs. Just locals vs the new city folk moving in for the cheaper.
They can get agitated just seeing certain people on TV and a certain Pres..... they mostly calmed down lately knowing more truth probably on both sides wrongs. Still Race is a huge deal for them as we boomers seem to want to go out with a bang for our nation and at least they are not Russian lovers.... many by me have Ukrainian and Polish heritage.

Yes, in 2021, Bowman won 4 races which was tied for the second most with Truex behind Larson's 10. He won at Richmond after beating Hamlin on a restart, Dover, Pocono after Larson's flat and then beat Denny again at Martinsville when he got in hot and spun him and Denny pulled his car up to Bowman's after the race. Like, he had a really good season. Then in 2022, he beat Larson at Vegas on a restart and that was the last time he won.
I feel like he could "figure it out" at any moment and start winning 3-4 races every year. Maybe this will be the start of some comfidence for him and that whole team to propel them forward. I don't know if he's a championship driver, but he's a final 8 driver on any given year.

Do not agree with "bumping" any car during the cool-down/victory lap. The friendly, congratulatory taps are one thing, but there should be a penalty when it's vengeful and wrecks the bumped car in any way. They can talk it out or shove each other around after they're out of their cars. The last thing the race winner needs is to have his car hit hard while celebrating his win. I would be surprised if Papa Hendrick didn't make a phone call to MJ to tell him to stop wrecking his cars after the checkered flag.

Just say for all races, if the yellow flies with X amount left in a stage, that is the stage break. Everyone knows it going in and can work with that. It’s no different than knowing ahead of time if the caution flies before the white flag it’s overtime, if not it’s not.

NASCAR needs to think about how likely they are to get lightning in Chicago in July. At one point, I saw there was lightning within 16 miles of Buckingham Fountain. It is not a rare event.
A huge difference in dealing with lightning in Grant Park is the miles of 4-foot-tall concrete barriers restricting egress. They are not there during other events, such as Lollapalooza.
The practical reality is that the fans are inside the track, not outside in a permanent grandstand structure.

Just have 2 stages at RCs instead of 3. The races are just too short to have 3 stages because that's another 4-5 laps each stage break under caution and at tracks like COTA and even Chicago, they're only going 75 and 64 laps respectively. Honestly, I wouldn't mind just going with timed races for the road courses. 2 hrs, 15 mins for all road races regardless of size or anything. That''s 135 mins which I think is just enough time to make it worthwhile and just little enough to leave people wanting more if it's a great race.

I rarely comment on anything, but TJ is very conveniently ignoring or forgetting the fact that Brad clearly hit the wall in front of Daniel on his onboard, which checked both he & Daniel up & is probably what led to Chase even getting in to the back of Daniel so quickly. Nascar cut that part out of their onboard replays, but other replays posted clearly show Brad hitting the wall right before Daniel & Chase's contact.
