I was born in the mid 80s and loved sitting with my grandfather and watching the races. I would fall asleep during the race but my grandfather would always make sure he woke me up to watch the last 10 laps. Great memories

@Dooguy I remember making paper boats and racing them in the gutters while it was raining. Recently, I showed a couple of kids out playing in the rain and grabbed a couple of sticks, and showed them it. They loved it. I'm in my 60s now. Life is good when there's racing in it!

Thank you Dale and especially Donnie. Dale's passing left a huge hole in me and all of these breadcrumbs you bring us helps fill them in some. Never met your Dad but saw the raw talent he had many times. Then there was the other Dale most of didn’t get to see, felt it was there but you, the family and some of his friends give us a peek behind the curtain. Donnie’s a great man helping with that. Now Kelly, been in LOVE with than woman for ever - her perspective has been extremely valuable too. The Earnhardt family and friends are the true story of America and what’s possible, not just a story but a journey. Thanks again.

This was great. My grandfather was a huge Dale fan and I remember sitting and watching with him. He was the silent type until about 20 laps or so left. My grandfather passed away when I was 15 and Dale passed away a few years after. Not a lot of “celebrities” get to me when they go but that one did. It was like an end to an era.

I have greatly enjoyed so many of the Dale Earnhardt senior historical stories. I was Dale's PR rep through the Wrangler brand in 1986 and 1987. Two championship seasons. I have some similar stories to tell. Dale and the way he would control how much he would allow one day to the next. But I am glad to have been part of those wonderful championship seasons. One day I set up a PR piece with a Charlotte TV affiliate at his house on Lake Norman. Dale Jr was there maybe 10 years old. When Dale wanted to do the media work he was the best. When he didn't, it was pure hell.

As "fan" of Nascar my lifetime from 1968 till now ,i was 6 when i got to watch Tiny Lund on Dirt in jax,fla it was the most exciting moment bc my Dad,Mom,and ALL of their freinds where cheering for this driver, not their Saturday night always driver,Eldon Yarhbourgh, wayne shuggart, david ezzelle, etc ,i knew then he was special,he was Nascar Proffessional,Daytona,Darlington,so on,then Richard Petty set me on fire, lived racing,i bought hotrods, worked on my own cars, then Dale Earnhart came along & changed
Everything,he was a True Driver in the sense of " not wanting to be the 1st loser,,long live his memory❤❤❤❤

I sincerely enjoyed this download. I also sincerely hope you connect closely to this guy and learn more about your dad through him. He has priceless stories that will fill the blanks for you and enrich your family history. They, in turn, will enable you to give us a better glimpse into the life of your pop.

This is a good man with high moral standards that he doesn't waiver on. You know he didn't tell much. Most of it is a different version of stories we already know. For personal reasons and respect for the friendship with Dale he won't talk about. He could probably make a ton of money but he's one of those rare people that believe some things are better than wealth.
