Join us as we share our reviews from all of the roller coasters on offer at this beautiful theme park including Mystery Mine, Lightning Rod, FireChaser Express and many more! It's definitely not the food that made me ill on this trip, it was the intensity of the trip and lack of sleep! We did an all night drive before filming this vlog!

Im would love to do a road trip of us parks but I have to admit I wouldn't want it quite as relentless as you guys did it, but having watched these there are some parks I would or will leave out so I can do the ones I want to do more leisurely.

I do feel like your tiredness is effecting your views of the rides and parks. Your riding Some of the top rated rides in world and coming away underwhelmed, I do think rest and relaxation is also key before visiting big parks like these. 🤷🏻♂️
Luckily I felt much better on day two, sadly that didn't change my opinion on Lightning Rod!
I noticed this pattern throughout. On rare well rested days, they tended to love the parks, even the lesser ones, and on the less rested days they tended to be critical. Watch the whole playlist with that pattern in mind and you’ll see it pretty consistently.

I think Busch Gardens Williamsburg will end up being your second favorite park of the trip after Cedar Point. Can’t wait for the on-ride footage from their coasters!

Alex needs to have his own opinions, the one time he disagreed with you Shawn he then went back and changed his mind. I understand that you may both enjoy similar coasters but he seriously needs to develop his own opinions.

I always share my honest thoughts on rides, I was just expecting some of these to be more intense! I loved Mystery Mine for the overall experience and some of the other coasters were also fantastic!
The theme of this trip so far has been high expectations with “low return on investment “, especially with the RMC’s.
Sean and Alex are so excited right before the coasters and then they cut to a review with less than stellar remarks. Shame that they aren’t getting the best experiences they’ve anticipated on. I’m sure some of it has to be that they’ve ridden so many coasters in such a short period of time that they’re probably desensitized to some capacity. And also the wear and tear on their bodies aren’t conducive to their energy, which will most likely reduce their enjoyment from time to time.
In terms of roughness, I always thought Sean loved a somewhat rough ride, especially woodies. Too bad the roughness on LR wasn’t his cup of tea. Speaking of which, I don’t know how he enjoyed Magnum XL 200 so much. That is the 2nd roughest coaster I’ve ever been on, right behind Coney Island’s Cyclone. It was so uncomfortable and rough I hated it with a passion.
Ultimately, ride experiences are essentially unique from person to person and can vary from one time to the next, so of course they’re entitled to their opinions. Here’s to hoping for some more consistently positive outcomes for the rest of the trip.

Obviously I'm teasing you, everyone has different opinions! But Seriously, the food at Dollywood is amazing and one of the things that sets it apart. 2 different buffets that have great food and are very reasonably priced! And that cinnamon bread!

Ooooh, this is a big one I’ve been waiting for. It’s an excellent park, I did go last year and was waiting for your point of it.
It was great to visit, unfortunately I felt ill again on day one but feel much better in day two!
Definitely sad you and Alex came away from Dollywood a little underwhelmed. I will say, as a frequent Disney and Dollywood visitor, Dollywood is often held to a higher standard than other U.S parks just because of Dolly’s backing. The fact is, Dollywood (as a park) isn’t at the level in terms of investment, attractions, entertainment, food, theming; as say Disney or Universal; and unfortunately Dollywood is often compared to these powerhouses. I like to compare Dollywood to Animal Kingdom. Both parks are great, and are finally expanding; with Pandora in Animal Kingdom, and Dollywood investing in Lighting Rod and Wildwood Grove, but both parks NEED to continue with large investments to get them up to actual “full day parks”.
From what I’ve heard from some Dollywood sources, this park has some pretty promising expansions and investments in the future. Personally I would like to see Dollywood go more towards the theme park side of things, add an actual dark like (maybe trackless) and focus more on heavily themed environments.
Dollywood can mess with Knott's Berry Farm. They are on one Level

You really should have put more rest days into this. The trip could of cost a little more but think of how much more you would have enjoyed it. Still you likely know that now. You are human and not a machine. Dollywood is one of the best family parks in the USA. The setting, theming, shows and atmosphere are what makes this park special. If you go into the smoky's to get away from normal life, have fun, get back to nature and enjoy a unique day out here you are in for treat. The coasters are nothing special. If you are doing just a flyby and do not stop to absorb the local area Dollywood would disappoint. A week in smoky's is unforgettable experience and a bit of Dollywood is just the cream on top. Congrats on the 1000 cred.
We definitely needed more rest throughout however we did still manage to complete the trip! Luckily I felt much better on day two of Dollywood.

I've really been enjoying these American vlogs Shawn! I will say though that if there is a theme running constant from the start of the trip till now, its got to be the cloud of slight disappointment that keeps hanging over you guys. I understand the cough, the long miles from park to park, Alex's toe, etc but something just seems a little off from your other videos. Like I said, still having a blast watching. Waking up and seeing a notification from TPWW on the USA trip each morning gets me hyped for the day and to watch.

@@ThemeParkWorldwide It's just a shame. Such a bad start. 6 flags not having 3 of the best coasters running was awful. Wonder Woman, Superman and New Texas Giant are the best of those parks. Most people love Iron Rattler, but you caught it on a bad day.
That was great , very informative . Mystery mine looks gorgeous , I think the eurofighter looks like it works really well as a smaller less intense ride . Congratulations on 1000 !! Brett saying Alex is a perfect 10 was cute . I think all three of you score 10 to be honest. Shawn you work so hard ! I do hope that you feel much better now . Please pace yourself . I burnt out at 24 with too much overtime and ended up with M.E . Listen to your body . I love Brett’s Lancashire accent . Sometimes when I’m watching your v logs I wonder if the pleasure will never end .

@@ThemeParkWorldwide Once again, I'm wondering if summertime American allergies are the problem. I get them all of the time. Take OTC Flonase and Zyrtec (citirizine) for cough/throat. Even a sinus infection. The tree pollen and grasses are awful. Stop at a Doc in the Box for prescriptions. Probably feel better when you get home. Really hope you kick it and feel better for good! Alex seems to be worn out too. Where did y'all pick Brett up from? He didn't fly over with you did he? He looks American. That's a compliment! Lol.

I dont Know... I watched the whole vlog and it follows the theme of thr previous ones: it doesnt seem like you spread the positive energy like you usually did. You dont seem to fully enjoy yourself as much as you would have if you havent been ill. Especially with dollywood being a themepark I expected you to be a bit more energetic about the theming etc but you barely even mentioned all them details like you usually did - like on the european mega trip a few weeks ago. Of course on mystery mine but that was it I feel.
I feel like you shouldve planned in more spare days to relax a bit. Still enjoy the content, but I think you couldve enjoyed yourself a lot more. Maybe in the future.

I think you might be overly critiquing. Not all coasters need to be crazy fast and super intense.
Don't compare them to the most intense you've ridden. It will alter your impression of it.
Not at all, however Lightning Rod was built up to be an intense ride. I still very much enjoyed it, however it just didn't live up to what It was built up to me as! Everyone has different opinions on rides and that's what makes theme park enthusiasts all different and interesting!

@@ThemeParkWorldwide I felt particularly triggered when I heard your review on Heddy. Except for those whinging that it's rough, boring and finding Timbers better made my head spin. It's my favourite woodie, and I've had some near religious rides on it. Bit of a shame you didn't feel the same, but I know we all have different opinions.

Thunderhead might be my favorite wooden coaster. Gwazi would’ve been a close second, but that’s sadly not open anymore.

I think what ruins lightning rod is the huge amount of hype, you just end up expecting too much.

Hi Shawn. Chriss here, I'm struggling to understand what an inversion is? Is it the bends on the track? Sorry to be so thick but us pensioners don't understand ( sorry I turned 60 this year). I must say I love watching you and your friends on the coasters. You should bring a book out on the abbreviations of all the coasters. Love the channel. Well been waiting for this vlog as DW was on my list for next year. However after this I’m not so sure. Other vlogs make this place look epic but yours which I trust more than most has put me off now? Little disappointed in all honesty. To much hype now with social media and RUclips. Gone are the days of walking in a park pretty much blind. Looking like its just going to be Cedar Point for me next year now.

Btw on behalf of your subs, please don’t run yourself in to the ground, health wise. We can see it was actually effecting your enjoyment in these parks in America along with Alex, although your vlogs were still as good as ever as a viewer. I’d certainly not be disappointed if you had to do a shorter vlog in order to get yourself tucked up in bed earlier with a lemsip.

Lightning rod was absolutely insane back in 2016 and 2017. Its just a little too slow now but it's still a brilliant ride. My 4th favorite

I was so anxious during Shawn’s lengthy preamble before getting on Lightning Rod. All I could think of was “That coaster can seriously go down at any moment and totally wreck your milestone. Hurry up and get on!!!!” 😂

Congrats on 1000! I have been on 10 RMC's and Steel Vengeance is my #1 overall and Lightning Rod is my overall #1A. Both are incredible coasters. I had Mystery Mine as the 5th best coaster in Dollywood, so you are correct people have different opinions...

I got my evac cred on Blazing Fury. My train got stopped just before the final drop because glass shattered at some point and hurt a little girl in the train ahead of us.

Dollywood is a great looking park. Reminded me of Silver Dollar City, with all that wild west theming. Looks like even the wasps are big fans of Theme Park Worldwide, ha, ha.
