- Join us as we head to Dollywood located in Tennessee, the 18th theme park of our 2023 USA Road Trip! In this vlog we experience all 10 roller coasters at Dollywood including the brand new Big Bear Mountain, a spectacular triple launch family roller coaster. We also ride Lightning Rod, Wild Eagle, Thunderhead and many more awesome coasters at the park. Along with that capturing the awesome atmosphere of Dollywood, take a stroll through the different themed areas and much more!

At the 35:10 mark, you can see that you were sitting almost right next to Super Enthused (Jackie) and Expedition Theme Park (Sam) who were also vlogging that day. I love both of their channels!
And I knew you'd like Thunderhead better once you got another ride. You rode it first thing in the morning last time, and it's definitely a coaster that needs time to warm up. So glad that you enjoyed it more this time!

Vekoma is defenitely stepping up their game with extremely good high quality coasters. That's quite an achievement in this very competitive market and an heritage of headbanging horrorrides.

There is nothing better than seeing you both smiling and bringing this park to those of us on the west coast. With the Disney Parks, Universal Hollywood, SFMM, SFDK, and Sea World, it is likely I will never get to Dollywood. This is the next best thing. Thank You So Much!

Yep, I remembered. Him and Alex at the park and Shaun was pretty let down by Lightning Rod. It was a case of hearing of coasters being over hyped, your initial expectations are sky high, and then it doesn't meet them. That is ALWAYS a case of failure. Never go on any coaster thinking "Will this be my new #1" or "I heard this is one of the best coaster in the world" 😂

If you can, stop by Lake Winnepesaukah (Lake Winnie) as you make your way toward Georgia. It is right along the way, a park that takes but just a few hours to see, and has some classic rides including a 1967 PTC wooden coaster and what is considered the original "chute" ride that splashes down in the lake. Definitely worth a look with you two passing so near it.

Nice video & vlog from a park I would love to one day in future visit if ever get opportunity with friends or family? Looks epic, got a good mix of rides and attractions for all to experience involving coasters, could do with a lot of these types in the UK. At Merlin parks, but I guess will have to wait and see what happens in future, what new projects parks in UK create? Would love to see a retrack & update on theme on Vampire at Chessington with mostly more theming structures and new trains added on Vampire coaster? With theming upgrade? Maybe more things added into queue line to make experience more immersive aswell at Alton Towers Resort maybe in future either a family Runaway mine coaster like BTMMRR or Wing Coaster? Would love to see big new developments in UK, maybe a few rides in gardens? Boat ride for relaxing? or something? But nice vlog, really enjoyed and look forward to watching & seeing Day 2. Cheers again. 😀👍

The Wild Eagle restraints haven’t been locking since AT LEAST 2016 when I first rode it and I probably rode it nearly 100 times in 2017. The only b&m vests in the United States that still lock are X flight
I love the vests as someone with a very lengthy upper body the vests are so comfortable. My shoulders prevent the old school restraints from coming down further. I also appreciate that the seats are spaced a little bit further from one another so you’re not rubbing arms with the person next to you. In my opinion they provide so much more freedom!

Rainy days at parks can be the best with no lines
Excellent! My wife and I are retired and live close by so bought season passes this year (a good deal if you go more than twice a year) and cant wait for the park to open in less than a month now! TY guys you did a great job on this 2 part Dollywood blog.

I have a shirt idea that Dollywood can use. The shirts can say “I rode Lightning Rod more than once today” since it seems to be on downtime a lot. Also, I want to see you guys on the rapids tomorrow if you can get on it at least.

Crazy to think this park has 10 coasters now; when I first visited, there were only four, and Thunderhead was basically brand new.
I would love Blazing Fury to return the water effect; however, from what I have heard, the water in the building contributed to the deterioration of both rides/buildings over time. Allegedly, and unfortunately, Dollywood got to a point where the choice was essentially to remove the water effect or remove the ride entirely, and apparently it's not much different with FITH (though FITH's building has also apparently deteriorated at a greater rate than BF's had at the point when they made the decision to remove the water). I do wish they would do something more with that final room so that it feels a bit more like a suitable ending than what's there now.
You should make a video ranking all the parks that you went on on the trip

Was there last year for a few days. Quickly became one of my favorite parks. The rides, the food, the reasonable prices, and the incredibly friendly staff make it a great experience. The very best of the big "corporate" parks. Glad you are enjoying your trip!

As of today, Dollywood announced that the LSM lift is being replaced with a chain lift as of 2024. Thank goodness. It's about time!!!
Oh I have been waiting for Dollywood vlog :) I really hope to get to it one day. Rain days can be great for re-rides as long as the lightning stays away. Sings Its Raining Again .. Super Tramp lol
Dollywood was beautiful
Dollywood theme park is a very nice well presented & looked after theme park.
And it has some great rides there as well.
It just proves that heavy rain & thunderstorms are sometimes not necessarily a bad thing.
It cleared the park out of other guest's so you could get your multiple re- rides in.
As long as you don't mind the wet weather.
The park is also partially owned by American country singer Dolly Parton & some of her family members used to work there over the years.
We had a great time!
One of the best rides I ever had was a night ride on Lightening Rod in the front seat. As we were coming down over the quad down you could see the fireworks going off above you. It was incredible!

Hey guys! Glad to see y'all made to my part of the USA!! I'm right in the middle of Dollywood and Carowinds!! I looked online and apparently the UK equivalent to Dippin Dots, is Mini Melts. They look about the same. Dippin dots are "formed" when regular ice cream is frozen using nitrogen and the Temps reach to 300 degrees(F) below zero!! Enjoy the rest of y'alls trip!!

What a great vlog, add Dollywood to the list of parks i just need to find a way to get to. The park looks extremely charming. The hardest decision may just be which trip to plan first, Dollywood or silver dollar city 😊. Really looking forward to day 2 and seeing what else this park has to offer!

@@ThemeParkWorldwide Also, if y'all are ever in the area again between Dollywood and Carowinds, Charlotte should visit the Carl Sandburg Home historical site, near Hendersonville, NC, they have a lot of goats that are maintained by the US gov as a historic herd.

Was there late last month on a holiday away from Australia and they were running 2 trains on lightning rod, but it did keep going down, also I noticed after the first huge hill on that ride, it gets extremely rough in that one section, still a great ride

Maybe in the near future they could add a Dolly P' show like the recent ABBA ones...but no longer than say 35 minutes. I know what you were missing back in 2019. It's Charlotte by your side and sharing the experience with her. Ps, poor Charlotte almost blacking out on tornado. She's being pushed to the limit. Also, can always tell when Shawn is excited to be in a park, coz the speed he talks sound like it's being fast forwarded. But don't change it's all good stuff and makes the vlog so much fun to watch.

if Dollywood want to add a B&M Hyper Coaster? They should aquired a Pre-Drop Terrain B&M Hyper Coaster from Busch Gardens ,Apollo's Chariot. Having Dollywood buy it from them? then have Apollo's Chariot or Apollo to be reimagined as a record breaking B&M Wing Coaster because while keeping the 3rd drop where you turn down missing the water, but honestly, a Pre-Drop Terrain Hyper Coaster would be a great fit at Dollywood besdies B&M don't use pre-drops on Hyper Coasters anymore, if B&M dose not make them' they have to buy Apollo's chariot from BGW then Apollo their could reimagine by being turned into a Wing Coaster.

Speaking of the restraints for wing coasters, I remember going to cedar point a couple years ago and I got stapled on gatekeeper. By the time we got back to the station, I was absolutely crushed. For about a week afterwards, the intercostal muscles in my sternum/rib area felt like they were strained. Definitely not the most pleasant experience I’ve had with restraints.
Loved going to Dollywood growing up. I use to ride Blazing Fury like 20-30 times when I visited 😅 Really has been a nice park throughout the years. Used to be called Silver Dollar City too before being named Dollywood 👍

Your timing was perfect, the rain actually made your ride count huge for the day. One thing you missed, maybe on the next vlog is a rollback on Lightening Rod, as frustrating as it is! 🤣 I'm surprised that the ACE event didn't cause any delays, great vlog guys!

Lightning rod looks amazing but fair doo's guys ur timing woz on point
actually dippin dots is ice cream frozen in liquid nitrogen and rolled into shape. the freezing is so instant that the ice cream doesn't have time to form any type of grain. its actually colder than what you believe. they actually measure liquid nitrogen on the Kelvin scale which is rare but is only use for extreme temperatures beyond what normal F and C can do.
It tastes so good!
