  • Join us as we continue with the biggest theme park trip we've ever done across the United States Of America. In our third travel vlog we show all of the journeys we made along with all of the hotels we stayed in during the middle part of our trip. Along the way we capture some of the local cities and scenery along with plenty of random findings! All videos from our 2019 USA Road Trip will be posted into a dedicated playlist that can be found on our RUclips channel.

Why didn't you guys plan more rest days? 8 hours in the car after a full day at Cedar Point is insane. It must be really hard to enjoy the next park when you're so tired and to be honest it kinda shows on some of the vlogs. Less parks and more rest days might have been a better idea.

There is also another way into the park. The causeway you were on is the main road but there is lakefront houses along the back side with its own entrance and exit. You can also get into the park that way as well. Next time you drive into Cincinnati get a shot of the skyline as you coming from Kentucky. Its beautiful

Nice. Finally a new USA road trip vlog with on ride footage :D
The rain you had at 4-5 minutes, is how it normally rains where i live (for a couple of hours). 2-3 hours drive south'ish to Oslo, they call the same rain, Extreme weather :P 2-2.5 hours drives then a short break. That's how you do it to keep "fresh" for 7-9 hours drives (or longer).

Shawn (starting the Dollywood drive): This is the one where a lot of people said you're not going to be able to do it, you're not going to be able to stay til close [and then drive 8 hours]
Ian Malcolm: Yeah, but you were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, you didn't stop to think if you should!
I am genuinely impressed that you did the drive when you did, I could not have. But I think the Dollywood Day 1 video bears out that you would have benefited from resting and doing the drive during the day.

For two days, I’m in my hometown which is LA then transfer to Las Vegas for two days, come back, then go for two days going to San Francisco and then coming back again. The next time you do this, make sure to allow yourselves to have a free day between days where you go to the parks.

Some states require the daily maximum to be posted to prevent price gouging in case of emergencies. For example if there is a hurricane and people want to stay in a hotel instead of their mobile home, or mobile homes get destroyed and people have to stay in hotels, obviously the demand will go up and hotels will raise their prices substantially. They cannot legally charge more than the daily maximum rate.

please don't drive in the left lane if you are not passing anyone. This is a huge problem in America and is the direct cause of most of our traffic jams. It is very unsafe to force other drivers to pass you on the right. Plus, some states don't have driver education, so its really a bad idea to trust those people.

The travel vlogs are great and I love the way they are completely unscripted and natural. but why don’t you just add them to the beginning and the end of the normal Park vlogs ? I understand that in your mind you want to keep the park vlogs and travel vlogs separate so it’s easy to catalogue. However this trip is massive ! It’s special and should all run in order.
It’s a road trip and seems weird the way you posting them, it just don’t flow. It should be one massive story in order. I mean you don’t watch a top gear special and see Jeremy Clarkson building a bridge across the nile then 30 minutes later on comes a edit of him driving to the river.
I really enjoy your vlogs Shawn and I have watched you come a long way in presenting over the last few years. You have a talent for the camera and have great gift of speech. My comments are only to help you further your career.
    Take care
    Rob

Hopefully you learned from this it's just terrible planning not to take days off at least 1 day off here. Its a major safety concern and even making it safe you will be cranky and it will end up the way it did and you will not have a good time. Talking about not caring much for Lightning Rod and Thunderhead? I thought thay was pretty bad but then you called Twisted Cyclone a family coaster lol. I believe the big hotel next to King's Island is a Great Wolf Lodge.

Shawn I’m planning a 2 week trip in July this is one of the favorite travel vlogs because it inspires me because I’m making a trip from Carowinds to Hershey Park is 7 hrs 503 miles. My trip plan is leave Minnesota to Kings Island for 2 days 13 hr drive then go to Dollywood (1 day), then Carowinds for (2days) big drive to Hershey Park for a day then possibly stop by Knoebels in the evening on Saturday then finish the trip at Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point for 3 nights then drive back to Minnesota 13 hr drive can this be done in two weeks? July 11-27. CP July 19/22. Scott

Cheers! I've only just discovered your channel and I have to say, Well Done My friend. I've been reviewing your southern California trip back in2015 or 16 not sure. On your trip to Knotts Berry Farm you rode the Log ride and Calico Mine train. Quick FYI, that log ride predates Disney's Splash Mountain by more than a decade maybe two and the main theme of the park is based on an actual Ghost Town off the 395 highway that travels along the eastern state line between Cal and AZ and Nevada. I mention this cause I think you would enjoy a trip to that park that is now a State Park "Calico Ghost Town. cms.sbcounty.gov/parks/Parks/CalicoGhostTown.aspx . Look forward to enjoying all your videos

Great series of videos guys, I am really enjoying them. (Just found your channel, I am a little late). As someone who loves a good road trip I have to say this has been a nice distraction from the COVID lockdown we are all enduring. Next time you are in Ontario, Milk is on me. (note our milk is in bags so I am not sure how that would work, you may need to bring your own jug)
