- Join us for a visit to Waldameer Park in Pennsylvania, the 5th park of our 2023 USA Road Trip! In this vlog we explore this awesome amusement park for the first time, along with sharing on ride POV's from all of the major rides. This includes the fantastic Ravine Flyer II, a spectacular hybrid coaster with awesome views of Lake Erie. Along with that we ride the other 4 roller coasters along with experiencing a variety of other rides and capturing the awesome atmosphere!

One of the things I like about the channel is, it promotes the smaller parks that people may not have heard about before. I assume this will bring extra revenue for the parks and the surrounding area!!

Such a great little park and a wonderful vlog. Waldameer is the perfect “catch your breath” park before the big boys! I love the little statues and just how traditional it is. It’s been a few years, you make me want to go back!

Always been a fan of Walley World. My summer camp took us here when I was a kid. We used to climb up the oil drums in Purates Cove and scare each other 😂

Glad you had a great time at my home park. Born and raised in Erie, so I've been here many times. Ravine Flyer II is definitely one of the best wooden roller coasters out there, with the view and speed. Cannot wait to see the Cedar Point vlog.

finally went there today after seeing your vlog! Cracked a rib on raveen flyer 2 first ride of the day. sat in the back seat and slammed down hard on something first drop. was a great time though , kids had a blast! thank you for your vlog.

This is my idea of a perfect park with a mix of traditional flat rides and coasters. Free entry rather than paying a small fortune to get in and then queuing for 3 hours for one ride. Much prefer these family parks.

Waldameer is a great little family park. The airtime on the bridge that crosses over the road is on Ravine Flyer II is incredible. Loving the videos.

Did the Canada fires affect any part of the trip? In Pennsylvania the smoke is brutal.

Lake Erie really does look like the sea (and it's one of the smaller lakes!) Wish they'd open more parks over here until 9pm

Yes a Great Lake carved by glaciers , I’m from Erie and am always amazed how small people think they are ! I always say other than being fresh water and not as wavy , it’s just like an ocean !

Loving the content so far shawn. If you don’t mind my asking, how come you dislike the timber liner trains but enjoy the PTC trains? I much prefer gravity group trains because the lap bars stay in place rather than the staple prone PTC trains, so I’m curious to hear your thoughts.
Thank you! I really don’t enjoy them as they tend to rattle very much, also the lapbar I find very bulky and rather uncomfortable!

Wow, great vlog! It's a small park, but there are lots of cool & unique things about it. The views of Lake Erie; Ravine Flyer II looks like a great woody that's very zippy with lots of air time; the Whacky Shack classic dark ride with such unique elements; the Ravine Flyer III kiddie coaster being positioned entirely over water; the benches lining the queue for the train; lots of trees; very reasonably priced souvenir T-shirts; all the little statues of children playing; the trash cans with the clown head toppers; the random fun house mirrors; the fountains; the misters & thunder sounds on the log flume... Thanks for taking us along!

Thanks again Shawn and Charlotte ... some of my best park memories are from the laid back ones like Waldameer. Cedar Point is amazing but its exhausting. It looks like with the new Boardwalk area opening up ... maybe you can take some rest time and just enjoy the trip and Lake Erie! Keep on riding!

Lake Erie is one of the smaller of the great lakes. 3 more that are even bigger . I live on Huron the middle sized one. They are so blue :) Great location for the park :) I am excited to see your Cedar Point vlogs next !

To Think This Trip Happened Almost 3 Months ago... i felt like it started a week ago
Steel Dragon is the SC2000 model, it is the same as what was Whirlwind at Camelot (now Sky Spin at Skyline Park in Germany). It is also the same as Crush’s Coaster Walt Disney Studios, just without the extended first section and without the show building. Laff Trakk which you rode at Hersheypark is also exactly the same.

Great Video. Never been to this park. My home park is Cedar Point and then Kings Island is about 3 and a half hours from me. We are a little spoiled he in Ohio lol.

What a great park. Love Ravine Flyer 2. Wow that’s just insane. The speed!!! And again another park which puts the Merlin ones to shame.
Love your theme park Vlogs but here’s a little fun fact for you guys since you enjoyed the Wacky Shack so much you may enjoy this both the Wacky Shack, and the Pirates Cove were both built by legendary dark ride builder Bill Tracy unfortunately there’s very few examples of his dark rides left but if you ever find yourselves in Ocean City Maryland for any reason stop at their boardwalk They have a Bill Tracy dark ride called Haunted House and the only other existing Pirates Cove walk-through that Bill Tracy built still operating

Them sky lifts are like the ones they had back in Frontierland Morecambe, but one had the sherrif dog on you could sit with. Everyone waited for that one xxx

Splendid park with great selection of rides plus Waterpark next door plus big body of water for other fun times. I can see this is going to be hard to pick a number one favourite at the end of the journey, thinking top 5 might be the way to go. And you found Kermits long lost cousin !!? Thanks for showing.
This makes me think how important it is that a park in the UK such as Drayton Manor gets something BIG to reach the next level. I think Flamingo Land have achieved it with SIC for example.

I absolutely love Waldameer. It's a solid example of what a true American amusement park is. Plus Ravine Flyer II. Hell I have that above El Toro and Lightning Rod right now in my rankings.
I like that idea entrance free you just pay per a ride . Wish Blackpool pleasure beach and other parks done that as I can't go on all the rides . Offer a wristband or pay per ride. Can't stomach rides where u go upside down .

I love!!! Love seeing the subscriber count go up on these trips!!! I live In the Philly suburbs and wish I could have seen you at your first 3 parks. All within about 1.5 to 2.5 hours away!!! Great time to come before school lets out for summer recess!

Dang, inside the ghost house ride, your camera had no clue what to do in that striped room with the strobe light haha it was buggin out! Ravine Flyer looked like it really roared through its layout. Good pacing. Looks like they just need a stand out steel coaster with an inversion or two and they'd be fully rounded. Fantastic video as always. Was hoping it would be posted today after I heard you mention Waldameer in yesterday's video.
The dark ride was awesome!

The comet was my first ever roller coaster, and nowadays I'm not scared to go on big rides like kingda ka (which i did in 2023). This park is very nostalgic for me, and I definitely want to go back to experience ravine flyer 2 because I didn't go on it when I last went.

What en epic trip with so many theme parks!! 💕 Just wondering ,how many memory cards do you recommend bringing for a full 1 hour non-edited HD video? How many hours do you edit through to get a full hour? 🤓
I delete anything I don’t want along the way so I end up with the full vlog clips ready for editing at the end of the day!
Great video Shawn. Lovely to see all of the extra seating areas with shade and most importantly the larger picnicking areas for the school trips. We used to have a great picnicking area at Chessington but unfortunately no more.

Lake Erie is beautiful and HUGE. I thought that the view of the sea from the top of Blackpool tower was amazing. It has nothing on the views of Lake Erie 😂😂
