If I had a nickel for every time you uploaded an amusement park tier list while I'm at kennywood, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
@Haminations reference
@y0y1eb3r4y Nope it was really from phineas and ferb
I hope you can make it out to Adventureland, Silverwood, Lake Compounce, Kennywood, Knoebels, Lagoon, Elitch Gardens, Glenwood Caverns, Magic Springs, Mt. Olympus, and Waldameer next soon. Those parks weren't mentioned, but it would be cool to see where they would be placed.
I’ve been to some of those but they weren’t on the template. Maybe I can make my own template. Adventureland and Knoebels would be B tier.
For me:
S: Kings island, Cedar Point, Knoebels
A: Hersheypark, Waldameer, Kings Dominion, Holiday World
B: Kennywood, Kentucky Kingdom, Nickelodeon Universe (MN)
C: Delgrosso's, Conneaut
D: Idlewild
Hard disagree with the SDC placement. For me it’s my favorite park I’ve ever been to and it has one of my favorite coaster lineups ever. Outlaw Run is my #1 aswell.
That’s fair, I think a lot of people like it more than me. I think it’s great, but I didn’t feel the same way about the tufts it overall experience as I did with the S tiers.
Agreed. Dollywood is my home park and I enjoyed SDC more.
it is because most of the rides are down ALL the time.
I agree with Dorney Park at C
My favorite out of the amusement parks (so excluding Disney and Universal) I’ve been to is Busch Gardens Williamsburg by far. Beautiful park with a strong coaster lineup.
Great choice, I can't object to that.
Great video! I really enjoyed watching! Keep up the great work!
I love over Georgia and am glad it's my home park, but the operations or god awful. What should be a 5 minute wait for goliath ends up being 15 minutes, they have gotten the 2nd train back so hopefully it helps, but they are still terrible.
Absolutely.
Over Georgia needs to get the Fiesta Texas treatment with the merger taking place
Dollywood is so much fun with the environment and the ride and the shops it’s so enjoyable!
It sure is.
👍What video would you include Knoebels in or is it too unique to place anywhere? Your library can use more Knoebels videos to. Hope you can spend a FULL day or two there get a proper judgement of that classic park.
SFOG is an underrated that has a lot of potential. They can possibly go in the Fiesta Texas route as a secondary prototype test ground in terms of investments and really good management with the merger taking place
I personally prefer theme parks over strict amusement parks. So that is reflected in how I rank parks. And I definitely include a waterpark in a ranking if it is attached to the dry park and included with admission. For me I judge parks by how well rounded of an experience I get with my ticket price, and coasters can only carry a park so far. I'll just include my S and A tier below.
S: BGW, DW, SDC, SWO, BGT
A: HP, CP, SFMM, SFFT, KI, SFGAm, Caro, SFGAd
I rank several Disney and universal parks in there as well but didn't include them because they weren't on this tier list.
Dollywood was my worst park experience ever...was only able to ride 2 coasters all others down
Dang, that’s really unfortunate.
Six Flags Great America and Six Flags Great Adventure over Silver Dollar City? Wow. Granted the reason why I rank SDC so high is because Dollywood is my home park so I noticed all the little things they do at SDC that they DON'T do at Dollywood such as:
The opening ceremony
The train show
The cinnamon bread toppings
Larger portion sizes for the tasting pass
More selection for the tasting pass
The number of trees (SDC has WAY more, they didnt cut them all down like Dollywood)
Free parking
And more Im probably forgetting. Point is parks that nail the small stuff usually rank higher for me than parks that dont
wonderland ftw, been going since late 90's early 2000's and never gets boring
It’s awesome.
Pretty awesome A tier. I would love to visit any of them
For sure.
Your list is very logical, and you back up all your reasons. The only minor exception I’d change is Dollywood because they’d best coaster has ongoing maintenance and operations problems.
Thanks! I had a lot of chances to ride Lightning Rod so that didn’t dampen my experience too much.
I like your list but we aren’t on the same page when it comes to your A tier. I prefer Hershey over Carowinds and Great Adventure. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t even list great adventure in the A tier. The operations are mediocre at best and I think their coaster line up just consist of 4 great coaster and the rest are just there. At Hershey you have a world class RMC, a solid hyper. An intense hyper, a great invert, a great accelerator, a unique intiman and a solid supporting list. To me when it comes to great adventure, after Kindga Ka, El toro, Jersey and Nitro, the rest feel like good family coasters to me. Same with Carowinds. They have fury; copperhead strike, intimidator and afterburn. After those 4, imho the rest are either rough or mildly entertaining
If you've been to Magic Springs, where would you put it?
Thank God you put SFGAm in A
B or lower would get you extra drive time around Chicago
It’s an awesome park.
I haven't been to any theme/amusement park close to 20 years. As a local resident, I am surprised how high Six Stabs Tragic Mountain is ranked.
It’s had a lot of investment in the last 20 years. Many would put it higher than me.
Thanks Eric For The Great Video! Have you been able to check out AF1 yet?
Not yet
Kennywood?
Was thinking the same thing? Especially since holiday world was included!
IMO I think Hershey may have best line up in country. Nothin there compares to steel vengeance for me, but Cp only has two rides I would want to ride over and over and over again (SV and Maverick) but Hershey had four I could ride literally all day (WR, Candy, Skyrush, Storm runner) and I’m from Louisville ky so no home park bias here
Fair enough, many would agree with you.
I agree. There are more coasters at Hershey that I enjoy more than cedar point. Don’t get me wrong, I love steal vengeance, but to me, aside from Steele vengeance and Maverick the rest of the coaster collection was just good to me where I marathon coasters all day at Hershey just like you.
First Comment Great Video👍
So I guess S tier and A tier are the theme parks are worth for long distance travel and the ones that are B tier and lower are not worth it but I’m honestly surprised knotts berry farm is B tier because I heard that them park is worth seeing for long distance and is one of the most visited theme parks in America I heard , so it should be at least A tier
For me
S: Cedar Point
A: Kings Dominion
B: Kings Island, Kentucky Kingdom
C: Legoland Florida, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Strickers Grove
D: Magic Kingdom
I think that’s all I’ve been to. To explain Magic Kingdom being below strickers grove, Magic Kingdom is probably objectively a B tier, but I simply don’t enjoy it as much as I can at basically any other park.
Why is Michigans Adventure Above Frontier City Yah Their Both Horrible But Still
Cool vid!
Thanks!
@@ThemeParkAvenue all good!
Where would Disney & Universal fit into this list?
Didn’t u rate knotts berry farm and six flags New England A tier in ur other video , so why are they both now B tier?
More great parks from this year took their A tier spots.
Great ranking - but Hershey #1 for me
where would you put islands of adventure?
Either bottom of S tier or top of A tier. It’s right there with the Busch Gardens parks.
yea I agree@@ThemeParkAvenue
Thoughts on making this a video idea?
Make a controversial opinions video on what coasters are speculated for each six flags park
My example is how I wouldn’t take the speculated RMC Eagle or RMC Raptor at Great America ,but rather have a new-gen Vekoma launch (not like Maxx Force)
How are you ranking these parks? Feels like you’re going off more of a feeling then going in depth with these parks which is fine though.
It’s technically feeling, since each analysis point is really just there to justify my feelings. I did base this off of every aspect of the park experience though. I just didn’t give a full-analysis for each choice in the video.
I’m happy he put Dorney park somewhere or good that is my Home Park
It's a nice park.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Where are the 4 disney parks or the two universal parks? Also sea world orlando was the best theme park we've been too
I think this template just excluded the major themed resort parks.
La Ronde has ride ops issues due to dispatch times.
Personally, I'd put Cedar Point in A tier. It's gone downhill in the last few years. But I think matinence related issues are more post COVID related. With Michigan's Adventure having mostly minors as staffing, the park is run a lot different than most.
Cedar Point hasn’t quite taken enough for me to move it out of S tier.
@ThemeParkAvenue It's my home park, I have a more biased opinion, and I've seen it on worse days. Don't get me wrong, I'm not on social media "complaining about the park being not being open" when there is standing water on the pathways
With soak city aswell, it's S tier for me, and it's also my home park. All the maintenances I experienced were fast, the rides are good, there's even halloweekends that make it even better.
@@TTV_JabHoliday World's Splashing Safari is better
Rating dollywood better than SDC is crazy. Dollywood is b their at best
Upon reflection, Dollywood is probably my favorite theme park.
No Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure?
I guess the template didn’t have Disney or Universal.
Great escape
Worlds of Fun should be D and silver Dollar City should be top along with Busch gardens Williamsburg
Fair enough
tiers
So Lagoon isn't an amusement park?
This template seemed to only have parks from major chains. I haven’t been to Lagoon anyway so I wouldn’t have ranked or ordered it.
kings island is over-rated. Def a A tier park.
Disney?
I find King's Island and Hersheypark are overrated with really bad roller coaster tycoon layouts and average coaster collections. Otherwise very fair rankings.
Even tho Hershey is my home park and job ur opinion is respected
I’m kinda glad you said this yes they both have good coasters but there overrated
Don't get me wrong - Hershey (and King's Island) are STILL fantastic parks. It's not like they are rundown and look post apocalypse with half the attractions not operating like Magic Mountain! ;)@@KingEnthusiast
I agree but I would add Dollywood as well as another really overrated park.
If you think Hershey Park and Kings Island have bad layouts you should go to Silver Dollar City: literally NOTHING makes sense in that park
Lagoon amusement park in utah beast
Shut up valley fair has to be B teir above great America
How is BGT your home park and you havent been to SWO in awhile? Its literally an hour away. lol
Not to mention being in San Antonio for Fiesta Texas and not going to SWSA in the same city. Last time I was there I went to Fiesta Texas and it was too crowded so just went to SWSA. lol
My top 5 are.
1. BGW
2. BGT
3. SDC
4. Kings Island
5. Fiesta Texas
I should note that while BGT is my home park, it’s still a bit of a drive for me. It’s just the closest major park for me. Nice top 5.
Have you been to CP? Also how is BGW better then BGT
@monodoe761 Yup. Went there for 3 days and Kings Island for 3 days. I really have no desire to go back to Cedar Point anytime soon.
Outside of Maverick and Steel Vengeance I found Cedar Point really "meh." Im not a huge fan of B&M loopers or literally anything from Arrow and thats like 85% of Cedar Point.
King's Island is just a straight up
more pleasant and pretty park.
And BGW is just a straight up "nicer" park than Tampa. Its not just about the coasters.
@@Posirep CP is best park and KI is one of the most overrated places out there its like B tier at most. BGW coasters are MILES below BGT and the coasters make up like 80% of how good a park is imo. The rest is not that important.
@monodoe761 Everyone has different opinions on how they enjoy things. I like stuff past the coasters. I like water rides, dark rides, operations, theming, park appearence, etc.
Cedar Point has like zero trees except in the Frontier area. No dark rides and only 1 half assed water ride. Its like an overgrown Six Flags Great Adventure....which is another park I like more than Cedar Point cuz they got rid of all their shitty ass Arrows while Cedar Point keeps them around. Point is I had a way better time at King's Island than at Cedar Point.
BGW i like that its like in the middle of the forest and you come upon rides every now and then. Same reason I like SDC . Their operations destroyed BGT's . BGT has Hersheypark level of slow ops. I just chalk it up to Florida being Florida and you gotta put up with Florida people being Florida people.
The Six Flags over Georgia operations are highly over exaggerated at least as a park regular recently I haven’t had a ride breakdown since last year and I go all the time, it has one of the best one two punches in America with Goliath and twisted cyclone, has the best Batman clone and the best Superman ultimate flight (the OG) I will admit we have some very mid-bad coasters like Bkue Hawk or Scream Machine but imo it’s S tier, but bottom S tier way behind Cedar Point; Magic Mountain, Busch Gardens, etc but recently the ride operations have improved so much that all that I can rate is the rides which imo are mostly S tier rides
I’m glad to hear that the operations have improved.
@@ThemeParkAvenue Fs it’s gotten much better although Scream Machine closes down a lot because of how old it is, and mindbender sometimes closes but it’s rare
