I just went the first time this weekend and what a great time I was sad top thrill 2 was closed but I’ll come back and ride it fast pass plus is expensive 120$ a pop but well worth it for me and my girlfriend maybe waited 20 minutes at the longest for millennium force
I’ve always dreamed of going to cedar point since I started liking big coasters around when I was 9. I’m 11 now. lol still have lots of time to go. It’s always been intriguing to see ppl rate this park so highly and the rides within the park.(Maverick, MF, SV) I live in Maryland just west of the Chesapeake Bay, and the drive to cedar point would be a bit long, but I assume that it’ll be extremely worth it whenever I do go.
Diamondback is my favorite night ride. It's because there are no lights. It's just dark. You can't see what's coming. You can only feel it. If you get one of the last rides on it, you get the fireworks display as you ride in darkness. It's awesome.
No love for SF Great America having THE VERY FIRST Batman, which in turn was THE VERY FIRST B&M Invert anywhere? That's just one of the history points the park has; it's had several other firsts (and four of its current rides are arguably historic coaster landmarks). I will definitely grant the "Super-Elite" knock on it though.
Cedar Point being my home park is sick, and I vividly remember how awesome it felt when I was tall enough to ride gatekeeper after literal years of almost being tall enough to
Been to all the parks on your list with the exception of Canada's Wonderland and Six Flags Mexico and your rankings are off a bit. I think you are short changing Six Flags Over Georgia. Twisted Cyclone and Goliath are actually higher in my rankings than Wicked Cyclone and Superman the Ride at SFNE, and SFOG has a much deeper line-up than SFNE. They have 1 of the 2 best Batman clones. Goliath is a top 3 B&M Hyper. You also short changed the top 2 at Silver Dollar City. Outlaw Run is much better than the other small RMC's not named Twisted Timbers. It is a top 10 overall ride for me and I'm closing in on 450 credits. Time Traveler is in my Top 25 and may be one of the most re ridable coasters. I'm glad you identified that Kings Island doesn't have a super elite coaster, but you over valued some of their coasters. Mystic is the best ride. Diamondback has a bit of a rattle, but an outstanding layout, and Orion is clearly the worst Giga in North America. Banshee isn't anywhere close to Elite and the Beast is Good at best, and I could make a case that the Bat should be ahead of it. The coasters at KI are very overrated. The strength of that park is the operations and employees who make the experience great. Their coasters lack a bit for me. I do think you had the top 3 parks correct especially after Hershey adding the new RMC. And I'm glad you didn't put Six Flags Over Texas on the list as that park leaves a lot to be desired. My Tiers for parks: (And I admit other factors are involved besides just Coasters): Top Tier: Cedar Point Next Tier: Dollywood & Silver Dollar City Next Tier: Hershey Park, Busch Gardens Tampa, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Holiday World & Six Flags Magic Mountain Next Tier: Carowinds, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Islands of Adventure, Six Flags Great Adventure, Knotts Berry Farm, Kings Island, Six Flags Great America, & Kings Dominion I think I need to spend another day at Knoebels as I feel that could crack that bottom tier.
Hey, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I agree SFOG’s lineup is much deeper and if we assume Goliath and Twisted Cyclone are on par with the top two at SFNE then SFOG should be ranked higher. If we are just talking quality then Silver Dollar City, Dollywood, and the Busch gardens parks would be ranked much higher and reflect your tiers more closely (I’ll be doing another video on overall quality in the future) IMO Kings Island is one super elite coaster from joining Hershey, Magic Mountain and Cedar Point in the top tier.
Excellent list, just wish you had a category of reliability. Many coasters mentioned seem to have lots of down time. Also capacity many parks today don't seem to run their coaster full tilt anymore. Which is a shame probably due to safety along with wear and tear.
That’s a really good idea! Might make a video of the least reliable/lowest capacity/ most crowded parks in the future. Need to travel to more of them first to experience them firsthand.
@@coasterEV Glad I could help, break downs and long lines are no fun. For example Kingda Ka and Lightning Rod seem to be down more than they run. Millennium Force with it's weird train setup now and slower lift hill new motor....
I didn’t have an issue with the restraints on Skyrush at all I rode it about 5 times in one day and each time I felt even better the last ride I got on it this summer I was worried I’d fly out such a great ride and definitely my number 1
I never understood the hate on the restraints either I probably rode it 100+ times in 2022 reaching for the stars every time and never had any thighs crushed
I think Full Throttle is easy top 5 material at SFMM. It's definitely short, but every element is super fun and the view from the loop during one of the best hangtime moments ever makes it legit. Definitely above Apocalypse and WCR. In fact I would prob put Riddler's above those two since it's easily the best of it's model.
Took my kids to Magic Mountain this summer and what an amazing trip. X2 was everything we thought it would be and Wonder Woman is an awesome ride. That finishing loop on Tatsu is no joke!
I am hearing good things about the newly opened Wildcats Revenge at Hershey Park. Looking forward to riding it this summer! Maybe Hershey Park will jump to #2?
You're right about Six Flags Great America and Kings Island being a toss up. Personally, I prefer Six Flags Great America more, but I am going back to both parks next month, and it's such a close call that my opinion could easily change. I can tell you that Six Flags Magic Mountain is my favorite park for roller coasters overall. While Cedar Point has three awesome roller coasters that stand above anything Magic Mountain has, I had trouble ranking the roller coasters I rode at Magic Mountain because I enjoyed them all very much, meanwhile I was able to rank the ones at Cedar Point pretty easily (if that makes any sense).
I like the analytical approach/putting tangible numbers behind your decision making. Even when I may disagree slightly, it justifies your reasoning. I too try to take a mathematical approach to this sort of thing. I'm just curious which of these parks/rides you have actually personally experienced.
Great work putting this together. Having said that, one error that I noticed is there you have the 2 Wonder Woman rides rated differently. You have Golden Lasso as elite while Flight of Courage as great. Also, I'm not sure how Tatsu is not super elite as it is the largest and fastest flying coaster in the WORLD! Grading just on the rides, you have to give SFMM the nod. However, after just getting my first experience to Cedar Point last month and SFMM being my home park, everything else at CP is better. If I was asked which park I wanted to take my family to, CP without a doubt.
Golden Lasso and Flight of Courage have different layouts, even though Golden Lasso is shorter people (including me) say its more intense. Also, this is just personal but I've never really gotten the hype for tatsu, I think its #5 in the park behind Twisted Colossus and X2 (duh), Viper (pretty unpopular opinion but I love the force and jank) and Full Throttle. However, I've never been to cedar point so I can't say which one has a better lineup.
Vortex at Canadas Wonderland was surprisingly intense. First tide was in a downpour so that may have skewed my view on it seeing as I was basically waterboarded 😂
I'from Europe, I have only been to Busch Gardens Tampa (before Iron Gwazi) and Magic Mountain in 2011, talking about coaster parks. For sure I wanna visit Magic Mountain again, but high on my list are Cedar Point, Hershey, Kings Island or Dominion, Carowinds and BG Williamsburg
List is pretty spot on with the exception of the highly overrated Hersheypark -- especially if ranking by coasters. I'd have trouble placing that park in my top 15. Everything there is done bigger, better, higher, longer and faster somewhere else. The park itself is better than many mentioned here but the roller coaster are all good to average.
@@coasterEV I see. You both should count them though. They are by the definition of a roller coaster, is one, so it should be counted. It's not a flat ride, calling them a flat ride is like calling Wilderness Run at CP, or Woodstock Express at KI, a flat ride, they're roller coasters, just a different type. Cedar Fair counts them, they know what a roller coaster is. It is up to you, but I would count them. Have a good one.
Sky Rush's restraints are pretty bad. I'm not overweight but they push the restraints down on your thighs it's really uncomfortable and painful in some part of the ride. I think the rollercoaster is amazing but make sure they don't clamp down too hard on your legs.
i went to canadas wonderland, and honestly I dont think the drop of quality is as bad as people say, I went on 10 roller coasters but only didn't like one

Congrats to Six Flags over Texas to having (soon to be!) 14 coasters, which would net them a 9.5/10, and yet their quality sucks so bad that they don't even make it into the honorable mentions! In my prediction of which parks would make it into your top 15, SFNE was the only one I missed, while I thought SFoG would be in it. Also, Thunderbolt at SF New England is absolutely one of the worst wood coasters I've ever been on, especially considering that it's no tiny kiddie coaster. Even a rundown old coaster of similar size like Skyliner at Lakemont Park, or Big Dipper at Camden Park, easily bests it in my eyes. I'd say that Riddler Revenge deserves a spot in the top 5. It's the best SLC I've been on. I know that's not saying much, but it was actually fun and painless!
He had sea world at #19 and Mako would have been mentioned. I personally will have Sea World Orlando easily in the top 15 when Pipeline opens. The park is full of quality and Mako an elite hyper. Universal islands of adventure is not much of a roller coaster park. They only have 3 main coasters, which does include velocicoaster. But it's not really a roller coaster park. As a Pennsylvania native, I respectfully disagree with Hershey Park over Six Flags NJ. I don’t find any roller coasters at this park “elite” … what criteria are you basing elite coasters off of?
Wait you have Canada's Wonderland at Dollywood higher than silver Dollar City???😂😂😂😂😂 As soon as I heard this clown say time traveler is not arguably one of the best coasters in the world I immediately switched off....don't listen to these pretentious egomaniacs😂 FYI time traveler is one of two roller coasters like it in the entire world it's one of the rarest roller coaster experiences you can possibly have and it's like nothing else, that's not an opinion it's just fact that there's only two of them in the entire world... these Mack extreme spinners....SMDH never mind
they reasonably have one of the best line ups in the continent, and that will just improve in the next few years when they decide what their next rollercoaster will be
You obviously have never been to Kings Island😂😂😂 besides the operations and the layout of the park the coaster collection is without doubt top three to five in this country you can argue where you would place it in the top three to five but other than that there is no argument for anything else you cannot tell me and name me five roller coaster parks with a better collection than Kings Island it's impossible you can't do it you can just say you don't like it but the fact is the roller coaster collection is top three to five in the country
Way way off. Kings Island 1, CP 2. Park feel and layout. Operations. All better at KI. And Hersheypark over KI and even 6FGAd is insane. They aren’t very good. Horrible operations.
This video solely looks at the coasters at each park and nothing else which is why great adventure and Hershey are ranked so high. I’ll be making a similar one analyzing EVERYTHING (ops, feel, atmosphere, staff etc.) ranking the best overall amusement parks and ranking them up in a separate video and Kings Island will do very well in that.
From a coaster perspective (Removing operations from it), I would put Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hershey Park, BG Tampa, BG Williamsburg, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Great America, Carowinds all well ahead of KI. I could make a case for Six Flags Over Georgia, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas as well, and Kings Dominion if you really value their top 2, which I do.
King's Island has a ton of space to plop down some coasters. I got my fingers crossed for a Mack extreme spinner where Vortex used to be.

I found it weird when u say things like 'because i heard' vs 'I rode it'. I can't say Fu Q is a lame park, but the have have the fasetest accelerating coaster in the world. why werent the asian and euopean parks there?
Kumba is not floorless, wtf???
I thought the same thing
There’s no way kings island is top 5 that’s just crazy 😂
Probably because of there operations
It’s my home park, it’s just that good
they reasonably have one of the best line ups in the continent, and that will just improve in the next few years when they decide what their next rollercoaster will be
Kings Island is my park of choice. Wait times are not long at all.
Kings Island is top 3 at least
