The main thing Hershey needs is a long ride. It could be a giga or another woodie ideally. Candymonium was their first and only ride to break 4000ft in length and a LOT of the park is in the 2000-3000 range. A very common complaint is "that was great, but why so short?!"
I visited both Hersheypark and Cedar Point in two consecutive days and I really noticed how short Hershey’s coasters are in ride duration compared to Cedar Point’s. In my opinion, if Hershey passes CP then they would need a giga and a family multi-launch, or two more quality thrill coasters if a giga is not an option for Hershey.
Ah thats the problem that was on the tip of my tongue with Hershey's lineup. On paper, it looks to maybe have the greatest lineup on the planet, until you ride them in person and realize how painfully short each ride is. Wildcat's Revenge did make things a bit better though.
Hershey Park is one of the best bangs for the buck. It's not the biggest park, but it's less expensive than most parks, and there are hardly any lines. I liked Cedar Point, but their ride ops are so inefficient that queue times are too long.
Great video! Cedar Point does need an awesome Wooden Coaster. Blue Streak is great but used to have better lap bars which made it amazing. You’d be flying out of your seat. They also have removed way more flat rides in the past 15 years with no replacements. They used to have Go-Karts as well and other fun options.
I can't wait to see what Cedar Fair plops in the old Vortex plot. If King's Island gets something like Copperhead Strike or a ground up RMC in that spot...dang...that's a really quality lineup they would then have. If CP ever gets that awesome wood coaster (which I agree they need and should go on Millennium island...though the bugs would SUCK!)...then might as well give Ohio the title of best coaster state by far!
I’ll do my top 5 coaster line ups #1. Cedar point: great coaster line up you know it’s good when there supporting coasters are a b&m dive, a aero hyper, a b&m wing coaster, a b&m inverted coaster, a b&m floorless coaster, etc. they have some of the top coasters in the world and you can’t go wrong with americas roller coast. #2 Hershey park: all their coaster are great but short. I think they could use a b&m giga coaster. Possibly the tallest b&m giga make it 330ft tall or something I don’t know. #3 six flags magic mountain: good line up. Just they need a better hyper. That hyper isn’t that good. They also don’t have a true giga. X2 is great and like he said lots of almost identical layouts. #4: Canadas wonderland: they got the giga they have a hyper and a b&m dive that says it all for me. #5 kings island: great park has a giga and a amazing hyper. They also have banshee and that wooden one I forgot the name of but great park. And that is my list.
Of these 3, my ranking is 1) Magic Mountain (X2, Twisted Colossus, and Tatsu) 2) Hersheypark (Skyrush, Wildcat's Revenge (not yet ridden but will ride countless times between September 9th and the end of the season), Stormrunner) 3) Cedar Point (it's really fallen off for me with Zamperla Dragster, a slowed lift hill on Millenium Force, and adding Wild Mouse) This does take into account more than just coasters
-They replaced the lift hill motor 4 weeks ago. -You're judging a ride before you even ride it. -They needed a family ride because...thoosies are not the only demographic. -Comments like this is why Coaster Mania Day was my most hated day working at CP.
Hershey Park is #1 in my opinion. They don’t have any bad coasters in my opinion, whereas Cedar Point does. The only thing that Hershey Park could use is a good modern family coaster.
They could use a multi-launch too, as well as maybe a flying coaster of sorts. How about either something like Big Bear Mountain, or FLY at phantasialand!!!
I’ve only ever been to Hershey out of the 3 (looking to change that next year) but I have to agree getting either a giga or intamin blitz at Hershey would push this park to the tippy top!!!
Great job as always Brandon! I can’t imagine the time and effort that goes into your videos. I’ve only been to Cedar Point of the 3 parks listed. CP was a bucket list item that I finally checked off the list in June. Your Guide to Cedar Point video helped make our 2 day trip to that park epic. I hope to take my family to both Hershey Park and Magic Mountain in the near future. Living in Middle Tennessee it’s a long ways to California or Pennsylvania. If I were to guess, I would say 2024 for our family will include a first time trip to one or more of these parks: Ranked Likely to less Likely 1) Carowinds 2) Silver Dollar City 3) Kings Dominion 4) BGWB 5) Kennywood 6) Hershey Park 7) Dorney Park 8) Knoebels
Blue Streak was amazing when I went in 2022, I had no expectations going into it, and it’s my 4th favorite ride in the park behind steel vengeance, millennium force, and my favorite cp coaster, maverick
I find GCIs to be a bit overrated. I think they are very solid coasters for smaller parks and do offer some fun laterals and a few pops of airtime. What I don't get is people calling these coasters elite, none of the GCIs that I have been on have any elements that would make me put them in my top ten. That's why I would like to see a MACK extreme spinner in the Gemini plot of land at Cedar Point as there is only one other extreme spinner in the western hemisphere.
Great video! I agree with your lineup 💯 Hershey and Cedar Point are Very very close as far as Coaster lineups Cedar point definitely has a slight edge however Hershey Parkas a whole is a better park imo.
I agree..went to hershey August 3rd 4th and 5th. Everything was running except trail blazer and tidal force all 3 days. It's a better over all park than cedar point. Coaster line up is close. But idk if hershey can build a giga. I think max height at the park is around 275? Kissing Tower. They are landlocked also so need to remove stuff to build.
Pretty soon Sea World Orlando will be in this chat…. -Kraken the big and super intense B&M floorless coaster. -Journey To Atlantis water coaster is really good. -Manta the awesome B&M flyer. -Mako the B&M hyper, possibly the best hyper. -Ice Breaker the randomly intense and fun Premier Launch Coaster. -Pipeline the new B&M Surf Coaster has opened to rave reviews and looks incredible. -New B&M Family Launch Coaster coming…. Their collection is major quality.
I will say, I agree with your lineup, but I do wonder in the next 5-10 years if SeaWorld Orlando will be joining this conversation. They already have excellent coasters in Mako and Manta, and a strong supporting cast in Kraken, Ice Breaker, and Pipeline and seem to be actively adding almost every season. Will be interesting. They have B & M planned for next season.
Nah, they'd need to go a long way. BGT will be nearer to the discussion when they get the 2024 family vekoma launched coaster and the 2025 intamin blitz, and same with BGW if they get the RMC.
Great thoughts - friendly pushback though from me. I still don’t see how SFMM isn’t #1, CP #2 (although I get switching those based on preference, SFMM being intense coasters vs CP less intense). SFMM has both quality and quantity which just adding up is hard to beat, although CP is right there! Hershey is a big step down from those two still, most of their coasters are just not as good when compared head to head with either CP or SFMM. Tack on the extra coasters and it’s just not the same still. Give Hershey 2-3 more quality coasters and CP one more and I’ll accept your rankings!
Totally legit that you prefaced it with your picks being your personal faves.... My top 3 parks require too much frustration because the ''drop off'' occurs after my top 5 for coasters...so let's name top 5: * Cedar Point... * Busch Gardens Tampa... * Magic Mountain... * King's Island... * Universal Orlando (I'm cheating by putting both parks together here)...
I wish you had done a longer list of parks with the best coaster lineup, like a top 10. Although if you did that, I predict those remaining seven would be (in no particular order) Kings Island, Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Great Adventure, Busch Gardens Tampa, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Dollywood, and either Kings Dominion or Carowinds (it's a toss up for me).
@@JoeHartman80 In 2017 they updated the local ordinance to be more flexible. The absolute maximum is actually 350ft, and anything above 200ft has to be located minimum 1/2 the ride height from a public street, comply with ASTM standards, be able to accommodate emergency evacuations, and demonstrate that the ride is comparable to other attractions necessary to remain competitive with other parks.
Okay before watching here's my top 3. 1) Cedar Point 2) Magic Mountain (this is quantity AND quality) 3) Hersheypark Sorry but while I love Kings Island I don't think their coaster collection is on the level of Hersheypark. And i think Magic Mountain and Cedar Point have significantly better collections than those other two.
Hersheypark have a great collection of rollercoaster but most of them are quite short compared to to the ones at Cedar Point, I haven’t been in Magic Mountain, but my top 3 would be Cedar Point, Six Flags Great Adventure and Hersheypark.
Hersheypark has a 210 foot height restriction that prevents them from getting a giga. If they didn't have that barrier, I think they likely would've made Candymonium a giga.
They can build up to 350 feet, assuming they receive a special exception from the Derry township zoning hearing board. The Kissing Tower is 330 feet tall.
The problem is, TT2 might not make the top 5 at Cedar Point. Those launches are probably going to be so weak that even their Wild Mouse might be more thrilling. (There, I said it!) I'd give Hersheypark the edge for that alone. But replace Rougarou with a Mack XSC, and CP reclaims the coaster throne.
Great looking parks and coasters. As a Canadian it's Canada's Wonderland. I know we have some duds but they maybe removed for our new 2025 coaster. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Spa Land? Farup Sommerland? Liseberg? Walibi Holland (which has arguably the worlds greatest RMC & has the new Dual track Raptor in the works)….? Cmon man lol
Technically, X2 is not a clone. It is the original which put Arrow out of business. The ones in Japan and China were built after S&S bought the plans and modified them.
@@KeepRidinCoasters I do agree with the rankings tho! Pretty spot on! Whenever you make a trip to magic mountain I’ll be happy to meet up with you! I just live 1 mile away lol
If I look at my rankings: Cedar Point is the #1 (Steel Vengeance is my overall #1, Maverick is in Top 15, Magnum is in top 25, Milly and the old TTD are each in my Top 40, Gatekeeper, Raptor, and Gemini- Both Sides are all between 75-100). Six Flags Magic Mountain is #2, and I need to correct you on a few things. X2 is actually smaller than the 2 in Asia by a good a bit and the layouts are actually different and let's face it not many people are going to China and Japan to ride those 2. Viper is more of a clone than X2 as it is the same layout as the ones that closed at Gr America (I rode this one) and Gr Adventure. X2 is Top 20, Twisted Colossus is Top 25, Wonder Woman is Top 50, Tatsu is right outside my Top 50, Apocalypse and Full Throttle are between 75-100. Also West Coast Racers and Batman is just outside my Top 100. Hershey would be #3 out of these 3- SkyRush is #6, Wildcat's Revenge is Top 15, Candy and Storm Runner are both Top 50, and Great Bear sits at #100. Hershey may be a little more top heavy than SFMM, but SFMM has better coasters that next tier down, at least they have more of them in that tier. (4-1). The one criticisms of SFMM besides the hyper floater air time is a lot of their coasters are considered more intense rides. These are the only three parks with at least 5 coasters in my Top 100. Parks with 4 coasters in my Top 100 are Carowinds, Six Flags Great Adventure, and Holiday World.
SFMM is my home park and I gotta say, Goliath is the worst ride in the park for me. Even worse than Revolution I’m not even joking. Aside from that I still love our line up and hyped we made the list💯😎
I wish six flags took great adventure more serious. It could be up there with cedar and Hershey If they gave it the same treatment as magic mountain. I know we have the second best six flags park behind magic mountain so I shouldn’t be complaining but we definitely have huge gaps in between major coasters unlike magic mountain. Yes we’re getting one for 2024 but that might not even be major from what the clues are from six flags tweet today. It’s looking like a vekoma boomerang from the clues… it’s a bit ehhhh if it’s really what it is. Something like pantheon or full throttle would have been nice.
I just returned from a trip to Hershey Park this past weekend. I have been lucky enough to go to all of these parks, plus the Florida parks and several others, and I completely agree with your top three selections. Hershey is a great park, but Cedar Point has better rides.
Cedar Point needs to start replacing all those Arrows. I'd love to see a nice GCI replace Gemini. Mine Ride is probably the oldest Arrow, it needs to go. Corkscrew can be replaced with something that better matches the theme of TT2 since it's right there
I have a soft spot for BGT. Not a lot of coasters compared to other parks but almost every single coaster is ELITE! Hyper RMC, best b&m invert, best b&m dive, best b&m sit down, intamin multi launch, etc...
Not to mention in 2024 they're gonna get a vekoma family coaster and in 2025-2026 an intamin blitz swing launch! So yeah, they'd definitely dethrone SFMM and probably Hershey at the end of the decade at the very latest.
I honestly would love to see such a video, with your honest opinion about parks in Europe. To me as a European Coaster Enthusiast it would be highly interesting to hear your opinion.
I love how he says palopsaland😂 being from belgium myself I really like the fact that everyone loves that ride. I would love it if he tries to say plopsaland correctly. Plop-sa-land.
My dad and I were at HP the last 2 days as well! He said while we were waiting in line for Wildcat’s Revenge, he saw a bearded guy filming. So I might have seen you without knowing it! 😅 Were you there on Thursday when there was overcast but no rain?
@@KeepRidinCoastersBummer. I was there with my dad Wednesday and Thursday. It was our first time. I agree with you that the park has an amazing coaster collection!
None of these parks can build one roller coaster in match what cedar point has after TT2. Even the best parks only have like 1 or 2 truly world class rides. Cedar point has 4
Cedar Point lost a bit ground, since except of steel vengeance, they didnt got a great update on their lineup, yeah i know limited space, but i i can't caunt the wild mouse and also top thrill 2 still not shure what to think of it. Magic Mountain, the last 2 times i was there, they didnt open at least 5 coasters that day even the park was quite full. and no there was only one coaster who was officially closed due to refurbishment. A lot of those coaster are not in really good shape. And then then the ride operation, my god that was so bad. Hershey could use a hyper or a ccool mack spinning. But i love how the park fit those coasters in that park with cool layouts. i would prefer to see carowinds and kings island in the top 3
Tbh Magic Mountain in quality and Operations has really gone downhill it’s good with 20 coaster the capacity and the way they operate are bad now. My visit half rides are closed with staffing or maintenance, everything is running one train and twisted and Wonder Woman with two where they supposed to run 3 saving Grace is viper, scream and riddler running consistently. Magic mountain need to work on the operation standards like Kings Island. Even in busy days it runs bad
Goliath and X2 are not clones. Titan was after Goliath and X came before the other 4th dimension coasters. I would however add Viper to your list of clones!
Hard to rate SFMM coaster line up. They have a very impressive mid tier line up but lack the elite top 5. However half their rides are shut down due to Six Flags in general so can you really count them as having 20 coasters.
After next season with tt2 cedar points top 4 won’t be touched by any other park cp will need to upgrade some lower level attractions in the next decade but I’m sure they will
I have such a hard time ranking parks, especially with places like IoA - 3 coasters, but are all phenominal, while SFMM has like 16 (worthwhile ones), but a lot are kinda meh.
Before I even watch the video I was saying my top three are number one Cedar point number two Hersheypark and number three Magic Mountain… Go figure we have the exact same top three
10:18 What are the 4 Intamins at Cedar Point? You mention that they have two Zamperla coasters. So you have to cancel out TT2 (formerly TTD) of the equation. So CP only has 3 Intamins. MF, Maverick, and Wilderness Run.
corkscrew is the only thing close to a bad coaster at cp. but don’t really care for the valravn 😭 it’s not bad just was a little boring. i was expecting a more comfortable experience like sheikra
Cedar point isn’t close too Hershey cedar points lineup destroys Hershey but don’t get me wrong Hershey is a very fun coaster packed park but cedar point is cedar point like cmon now great video
Magic mountain needs to get rid of Goliath and super man. They need a giga bad. Hersey park all it's coasters are fantastic. It could use a multi launch coaster and it's line up would be full.

Hershey Park does a great job of taking care of there rides. Everytime i go, the coasters feel smooth and polished, unlike a lot of other parks.

….these are parks that you’ve visited..?
@@marcbasil I have over 500 credits and have been to these parks many times
Awesome vid!
Six flags America
4:50 🤣🤣 that was funny
Cedar Point needs a good high thrill wooden coaster as well some type of flying since they don’t offer anything like that
SFMM is my home park and I gotta say, Goliath is the worst ride in the park for me.
I’m surprised that Carowinds isn’t at least top 3 because they have a solid roller coaster lineup
I just returned from a trip to Hershey Park this past weekend. I have been lucky enough to go to all of these parks, plus the Florida parks and several others, and I completely agree with your top three selections. Hershey is a great park, but Cedar Point has better rides.
That is awesome! I was there on Friday / Sunday! We prob passed each other ha
Cedar Point needs to start replacing all those Arrows. I'd love to see a nice GCI replace Gemini. Mine Ride is probably the oldest Arrow, it needs to go. Corkscrew can be replaced with something that better matches the theme of TT2 since it's right there
They should put a new big beautiful GCI where the mine ride is. Then use the Gemini plot of land for something massive.
@@A-aronTIare they actually getting all that?
@@bradykabrick That is my prediction yes
I thought the Revolution at SFMM was the first coaster with a 360 degree loop opening in 1976.
I honestly would love to see such a video, with your honest opinion about parks in Europe. To me as a European Coaster Enthusiast it would be highly interesting to hear your opinion.
I am making a bucket list park video :)
Who else liked the video 1 minute into it?
HA. Amateur. I liked it during the first ads!
@@huntzzio Ha noob i liked it before it even came out
Yeah... Didn't take long for me either!
i like it as soon as i click😭 i already know it’ll be a great video
@@hihi-w3o9eWell i liked it while i was still in the womb.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure Hershey cannot unfortunately build a giga as the city requires all structures to be under 250 feet.
1. Cedar point 2. Kings island 3. SFMM
It angers me how no one talks about Busch Gardens Tampa, by far the most consistent park in the world in terms of coasters
I am surprised why Busch Gardens Tampa or Six Flags Great Adventure does not make this list they both have quality and quantity
I love how he says palopsaland😂 being from belgium myself I really like the fact that everyone loves that ride. I would love it if he tries to say plopsaland correctly. Plop-sa-land.
Thank you! :)!
Do you have a ranking of all the RMC coasters you’ve ridden? If not - can you please make that video!
yea i don't yet. But i need to lol
I would take busch gardens tampa over kings island
Man called X2 a clone and then referred to it as “the one and only”
My dad and I were at HP the last 2 days as well! He said while we were waiting in line for Wildcat’s Revenge, he saw a bearded guy filming. So I might have seen you without knowing it! 😅 Were you there on Thursday when there was overcast but no rain?
Hey! No I wasn't. I was there on Friday & sunday. lol
Man i havent even ridden wildcat’s revenge but all u gotta say is pre-lift?? Whhaaaaaat yo cmon
I prefer nighthawk over corkscrew any day lol
Lol
im shocked you didnt say kings island!!
What's sad is Kings Dominion was easily Top 5 at one point. That has definitely changed over the last decade.
After next season with tt2 cedar points top 4 won’t be touched by any other park cp will need to upgrade some lower level attractions in the next decade but I’m sure they will
Bruh why'd you put Carowinds and their Vekoma flyer on blast like that? LMFAO
Because of the airport dairy township won’t let Hershey build much higher
1:17 Viper is similar to GADVS’s American Scream Machine
Now that I think about it, they clone GADV a lot… give them original coaster pls 🥺
Energylandia is knocking on that door for top 3 or will be soon.
They should do an intamin prefab that beats toro
Cedar point isn’t close too Hershey cedar points lineup destroys Hershey but don’t get me wrong Hershey is a very fun coaster packed park but cedar point is cedar point like cmon now great video
calling x2 a clone is wild
No Busch Gardens Tampa? that's kind of wild to me because I would say its probably the 2nd or 3rd best in America.
I went to Hersheypark last week and got fucked over with Wildcats Revenge being closed and missing it by 1 day
Sorry!!
Viper was also (basically) a clone
I 100% think KI would make this list if they got RMC son of beast or a intamin blitz
New sub.
Thank you! Really appreciate it! 🎢❤️
Magic mountain needs to get rid of Goliath and super man. They need a giga bad. Hersey park all it's coasters are fantastic. It could use a multi launch coaster and it's line up would be full.
Unfortunately Hershey will never build a giga as all their rides have to be lower than the kissing tower
Now we need Zamperla to reimagine Steel Vengeance. 😅
Lord help us
@@KeepRidinCoasters
🤣 😂 🤣 😂
X2 isn't a clone. It's the original. The others would be the clone also the others aren't even in America
