      It is! Just 1 problem with it. There's a large airtime hill that looks amazing but it's absolutely neutered by these trim breaks that remove 95% of the air time you'd get.

    Superman was the first ride I went on, and when I went on it again in the back it was even better. It pulls you down for the pretzel loop, and it's crazy.

    I have said since I heard of RMC conversions that American Eagle would be perfect for an RMC conversion! American Eagle is the first coaster I remember riding, and it wasn’t always so rough. I was about 6 years old and it was one of the only coasters I was tall enough to ride that day.
    I rode it with my dad, who’s a bigger dude, and the lap bar was a single bar across the whole seat at the time - no individual lap bars. So the lap bar did not come down very far on me and I had EXTREME air time. Scary air time. But fun!
    I’m not one to say I’m emotionally attached to coasters, but if they didn’t RMC convert American Eagle, I would genuinely be crushed. It’s too rough for me to ride anymore, but I would love to ride it again.
    Because of American Eagle, I expect coasters to have airtime. My friend joked I need a t-shirt for going to parks that says “here for the airtime.”
    Also, I AM SO EXCITED you love Raging Bull and gave it the accolades it deserves. It’s always ranked as one of the worst B&M hypers since it was one of the first, but it’s the baseline I’ve compared every B&M hyper to and it’s still my favorite.
    I ADORE the banked curve coming out of 90 degree drop. I feel like I’m flying. Simple pleasures, ya know?
    Maybe part of the reason I’m so attached is because the season it opened, I was too short to ride. I was convinced I could Will myself tall enough to ride because it was the most amazing ride I had ever seen in my short life. I got in the test seat and my legs were too short to press the release pedal. My parents joked about leaving me stuck there for a brief second before pushing the release pedal. Raging Bull was this forbidden fruit, this taboo that made it seem so much cooler than Demon or American Eagle, or even Viper.
    So it was extra exciting when I did get to ride it, and I wasn’t disappointed. The anticipation climbing the hill! The smoothness! The view as you’re plummeting the 90 degrees! That banked curve!
    Raging Bull is my all time favorite coaster. Even more than Orion. Orion was so focused on the g forces (which goes well with the theming I’m not gonna lie), but this gal loves banked curves and airtime!
    I spent a few years living one town over from Great America. American Eagle is part of the landscape, literally. It was visible from the street I drove to go grocery shopping. It has the employee entrance through the support structure. I would be devastated if Six Flags chose to demo instead of rehab.

      Awesome, thanks for sharing! Yeah the airtime on American eagle totally surprised me. That’s great you rank Raging Bull so high, I wish I had more time at the park to get rerides on raging bull, Goliath and max force. Guess it’ll give me a reason to come back soon!

    The left side of American eagle (left as in on the lift hill) is way worse than the other side. They usually just run that smoother side but the other side was open once when I was there so I rode it and it’s the second roughest coaster I’ve ridden. The other side is fine though

    • @coasterEV
      @coasterEV  Год назад

      This reflects my experience. The left side was closed so we could only ride the right side. The right side was still pretty rough but bearable. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with this ride in the next 5 years. It can’t remain its current state much longer.

    For me with Demon and other arrow roller coasters, for some reason i think the jankiness is what makes it fun imo
    Plus my head is above the head rest so I don't experience the headache from the headbanging
    But that's just my opinion tho

    • @coasterEV
      @coasterEV  Год назад +1

      I'm glad you like them! For me, Arrows are very hit or miss due to roughness. I really loved riding Vortex at Kings Island, but I had ridden it so many times, I knew exactly how to ride it to avoid any pain.

    American Eagle was among the roughest and most painful wooden coaster experiences I’ve had… in 2017 and 2018. In 2019 it actually ran fine; smoother than Viper and Demon. I think they had done some track work then. Haven’t ridden it since, but I’m guessing that the 4-year-old track work is still bearable and as such the ride is still fine.

    • @coasterEV
      @coasterEV  Год назад +1

      Oh it was still quite rough, I was able to look past some of the roughness due to the forces and airtime. I remember my friend and I looked at each other during the helix and just started laughing at how much we were bouncing all over the place.

    V2 > Wicked Twister!!!!! The vertical spike in the back row is awesome! Wicked Twister you just get twisted around but on V2 there's some pretty nice airtime you can get.

    • @coasterEV
      @coasterEV  Год назад +1

      I definitely liked the vertical spike better than the twisted one for the reason you mentioned! It’s why I think dragster would be better with a straight drop.

    oh man this was my home park growing up so i could go on for days about it but ill limit myself to 3 interesting points. First off I couldn't agree more with goliath, everything the ride has to offer is fantastic but it's so short and regularly has the longest line in the park which is an unideal combo, secondly its really sad six flags has let american eagle go down from where it once was, less than 10 years ago it was dueling both sides like it was meant to and one side was backwards it was spectacular! lastly I absolutely agree raging bull is the best in the park, perhaps its my nostalgia bias clouding my perspective but raging bull really makes me wish at least 2 or 3 more b&m hypers had included more twister type designs, i get why others dont prefer it over the out & back layout but I think regardless we can all agree it's a shame Raging Bull is basically the only twister they put out there

    • @coasterEV
      @coasterEV  Год назад +1

      Yeah raging bull was great, thanks for sharing! We had a great time at the park, sadly I have to agree that six flags hasn’t done the best job running it at least this year. I have a park review on it (the good, the bad and the ugly) coming out next week!

    • @mackenziefritz8169
      @mackenziefritz8169 Год назад

      @@Someone-hi1nt Here's my thoughts on each of the coasters you mentioned:
      American Eagle- a lot of great airtime over each of the hills and drops, probably the most airtime in the park if I'm being honest. Additionally, the helices both provided sustained laterals and the ride was relatively smooth aside from the bottom of the first drop.
      Joker- was my first 4D coaster so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a lot more fun than I anticipated. Got 4-5 full flips during both my rides on the green side, and several near-flips. The purple side was a lot tamer, but was still fun. Gets too much hate IMO
      Viper- probably the most overrated coaster in the park. Got very little airtime and there were some pretty rough patches. The saving grace for this coaster is the laterals on the turns.
      X-Flight- the layout for this wing coaster is actually pretty solid, and I enjoy the inversions. However, the vest restraints absolutely killed the ride for me and made it difficult to enjoy the layout. If they could update the vests like Wild Eagle did a couple years back it'd likely jump up in my rankings.
      Superman- I've never been a huge fan of these clones, I've done all three of the ones in the US. Sure the pretzel loop is phenomenal, but everything else is just boring.
