Your reviews are simply awesome! I own an M5CS and totally agree that it is a little too heavy and a bit under-tired. I tried taking mine to the track earlier this year and she was a pig. Needs 315s in the back for sure. My M3CS should arrive in late August I am told. I cannot wait!

We’re taking it to the track next month and will post about that as well. Going to baseline it against a GT4RS probably so we know exactly where it stands. @@carhoney oh my GT3 RS does not come in until November when I actually am hoping to pick it up in Germany via the European delivery. However, I did drive my 2021 GT4 on track quite a bit and I can tell you that the two experiences could not be any more different, I mean the GT4 versus the M5CS. Speaking of benchmarking, the best sport sedan I have ever driven is 2019 jaguar project 8. I am very lucky to own one. I’m very curious how the M3 CS is going to compare to the Jag. Horsepower is about the same, the weight is about the same. Same trans. Both are RWD biased AWD system. He would be super cool to drive these two back to back on a nice track, both with Cup 2 tires on. I bet it is a very close match. The Jaguar is just sublime from the standpoint of chassis dynamics and especially suspension set up. That is why, even today, it is the fastest.ICE sedan at the Ring.
@@timmietz I can’t believe you own a project 8, that’s definitely a bucket list driving car for me. It’s sort of an underground legend for sure but having never driven one I can only imagine. If you’re up for it we could make a track day/test like that happen.
@@carhoney here is what I would like to suggest: once my M3 CS is in and it is broken in, maybe you guys can fly out to Florida and we can go record a comparison test at Roebling Road, which is about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live. I think that would be a quite a unique comparison test for sure, if we could do that in December 2023 or perhaps in January or February 2024. Just a wild crazy idea. The only other track possibility would be the Ferrari track day at Daytona, which is about an hour and a half away from where I live, which usually takes place at the very end of January, right after the Rolex 24 race. But that one is a little more restrictive and a little more complicated from what you probably would be able to film. Think about and let me know.

I just picked up my 2024 BMW, M3, CS, frozen white, carbon ceramic brakes. Interesting that there’s not more of the other car specialty RUclips channels talking about this car. It’s amazing!!! Love your videos on it though!
Both are great cars but if i had the choice and the money of course i would go for the m5 cs. One thing that I’m confused by is why bmw put rear buckets in the m5 but not in the m3 considering that the m3 is a more sportier platform compared to the bigger m5 saloon.

Brilliant review guys, really enjoyed the video. Having owned an F90 M5 Comp (amazing motor, kept for 4 years from new) and sold for a G80 M3 Comp xdrive, I have to say the M5 is quicker through the gears but the M3 is amazing point to point with so much grip at the front end. M Power !!
Do an Akra for track but it gets expensive, if you want to go a little cheaper than that Remus is very cool sounding. You can also just do a mid pipe which sounds really good too.

Id take the M3CS cause the M3 is just my favourite M car simply put, and from what I’ve heard the tuneability is way better on the M3 and it can comfortably get to 700hp which I’d like to do personally

Active Autowerks... In conjunction with the Dahler exhaust flap module. I used AA's midpipe, secondary cat & resonator delete, and the Dahler in conjunction with the factory box and I love the outcome. My car is factory quiet when the valves are closed and reasonably noisy when open and ASD disabled. Meaning you hear the exhaust and it's readily identifiable as an inline 6 screaming towards 7k, but no pops, bangs, burbles, or sound from the speakers. Edit: even with bimmercode (I use it as well) you can't fully open the flaps without an override module like Dahler or whomever else you decide to go with.

I would post the link, but most people don’t trust hyperlinks so you can find it pretty easily on RUclips. He’s got a discount code as well should you decide to purchase. I'd want the M3 with the M5's engine swapped in. To me the M3 looks better but the M5 sounds better, so the smaller car with the larger motor. A 1 of 1 then swap the n54 in a 335i with the M3's engine would be pretty crazy too, 500hp in the even lighter 335i sedan would be wild on the street at stock form

Nice comparison. Bmw has a unique feeling to drive, maybe not the same league as a Porsche, but maybe a better daily driver, though neither will be low cost to maintain.
Two of the absolute best. M5 looks way better than the M3 for me, I just can't accept that front end on the G80, so I'd still take the F80 over it, but man oh man. M3 for track, and M5 for straight line cruising. God imagine having both!
I saw a race on another channel, SamCarLegion, where the Supra dominated this same M3. If these two are close in performance times, can the Supra also beat the M5? Can you two race the Supra against the M5, or heck, bring all three together and race them if you can.
Do a single midpipe. Any company, active autowerke is the best. Muffler is good stock as are the downpipes. Doing downpipes would gain a lot of HP, but also unnecessary volume+rasp.
@@koko-brawlstars5342 the pedals on the comp are similar to the cs but the rest of the differences are big in handling, steering feel, power, chassis so that’s where I think the M5CS beats out the comp

I appreciate you trying to compare these cars head to head, but unsure why you don’t use facts vs opinions. Seems a little bias considering the m3 is your vehicle. The m5 is clearly faster yet you try to make an argument that the m5 can’t catch up after giving the m3 a considerable jump. I don’t really believe you brought a real comparison for people to utilize. I own a m5cs and have the m3cs coming soon, fyi.
A good six is always better than an eight. Sound, engineering, balance; just as a twelve is invariably better than an eight or a ten. Listen to Gordon Murray on the twelve in his car and why he wouldn’t choose an eight.
You guys should should check out a fabspeed exhaust for the m3 cs, I love it on my g80 not crazy loud has a nice tone to it and keep the factory valves
Don’t know, it was an option and the dealers chose. BMW ceramics suck on track though so we were glad about steels as they’ll end up getting upgraded to aftermarket anyways so we saved $10k
We did roll race on the freeway. Just didn’t film it because it was impromptu and we didn’t have an extra camera guy ready or anything. M3 wins every time.

Yeah we had that question too. The M5 effectively has 4 seats while the M3 has 5 seats and a spacious enough back row

In M5CS BMW found nearly perfect formula of a performance sedan, and that they applied to newer product in M3 CS.
It is great! Terrific car. Fast and nimble. I wish the suspension had a softer setting for everyday use but other than that - it is basically perfect.

You should go with the tried and true Akropovic. Of all the different exhaust sound clips I have heard, theirs is the best. Dinan is good too.

I saw a race on another channel, SamCarLegion, where the Supra dominated this same M3. If these two are close in performance times, can the Supra also beat the M5? Can you two race the Supra against the M5, or heck, bring all three together and race them if you can.

Do a single midpipe. Any company, active autowerke is the best. Muffler is good stock as are the downpipes. Doing downpipes would gain a lot of HP, but also unnecessary volume+rasp.

@@koko-brawlstars5342 the pedals on the comp are similar to the cs but the rest of the differences are big in handling, steering feel, power, chassis so that’s where I think the M5CS beats out the comp

@@koko-brawlstars5342 oh sick are you in the UK? I don’t think M3 Comps feel heavier than M5 just to be clear, so i think it will feel great especially as a street car. The M5 is just probably more capable even for its size.
Looking at the corner run...M3CS was far more planted. M5CS did have some suspension bounce..but a car thats supposed to be a luxury saloon..

I appreciate you trying to compare these cars head to head, but unsure why you don’t use facts vs opinions. Seems a little bias considering the m3 is your vehicle. The m5 is clearly faster yet you try to make an argument that the m5 can’t catch up after giving the m3 a considerable jump. I don’t really believe you brought a real comparison for people to utilize. I own a m5cs and have the m3cs coming soon, fyi.

next week I’m going to trade my M3 CS with an M5 CS. After BMW presented the new M5.. it’s the only way to enjoy the last real M5
You guys should should check out a fabspeed exhaust for the m3 cs, I love it on my g80 not crazy loud has a nice tone to it and keep the factory valves

Why didn’t the m3 cs come with carbon ceramics brakes?
Don’t know, it was an option and the dealers chose. BMW ceramics suck on track though so we were glad about steels as they’ll end up getting upgraded to aftermarket anyways so we saved $10k

We did roll race on the freeway. Just didn’t film it because it was impromptu and we didn’t have an extra camera guy ready or anything. M3 wins every time.
