Because he's trying to hold 40mph for rolling launch but you can clearly see the pace car isn't just rolling into it at 40. Even the M5 couldn't stay side by side with the pace car. On the second run he's going way too slow, then speeds up past 40, leaving the m5 and 140i for dust and then lets off the accelerator for 2 seconds so that he drops to 40 at the cone. A 40 roll race should be atleast holding 40mph for some ground before you start. M3 driver doesn't know how to race.

For a fully built engine they can run nearly double the power. so why is it not working properly. Jamie has given him a massive platform and this is what he turns up in and does. 🙃 The car is an advert for his business and should've been quadruple checked and fully ready and setup for the day, no excuses on gearing, overheating, boost or his driving. 🤣 Wrigley's builds never do this. Whoevers car it is. They always perform no excuses!

M140 slingshotting every time, just because you're behind the pace cars doesn't mean you're going slower. Dropping back behind the other cars and then accelerating past the start line should not count.
No surprises with the G80. Those S58 are absolute torque monsters and give a lot of power through the entire rev range. Not exactly a light car but not too heavy either all things considered.
Cray how loud those g80s are can’t hear the others on the big end! The g80 not being locked into gear at the starts of the rolls effected it! But the 100-200 times show it’s slightly faster mid range. This g80s with a little e mix are amazing. Definitely the best m car about. Also don’t forgot chaps the surface ain’t the best so every car is around 0.2 - 0.4 off vs a good surface on the street
Sadly the M5 driver doesn't know how to drive so the M5 lost from the get-go because of driver error. @7:15 He's in auto (D - automatic shifting) coasting at probably ~35% throttle maintaining speed with the pace car, floors it at the cone like everyone else but once it shifts into the next gear then slaps it into S/M (sport/manual transmission "mode"). I don't want to seem like I'm talking shit or trying to bring the guy down but from experience, over a decade of actual driving, racing and building/researching performance cars you know when some cars are not being driven to its absolute full potential. For anyone that isn't familiar with BMW's 8HP transmissions it has its own sport mode independent of the car and its engine. When shifting into drive even though you are in Sport or sport+ the transmission is in its regular shifting state but holds RPM longer or shorter depending on the variables you give it like how fast you are going, throttle input and so on but it'll still shift for you automatically. "Slapping it" or moving the shifter over while in drive will engage sport transmission and instead of it displaying D on your dash it'll change to S which makes your transmission shift the fastest it can, automatically put you in the most optimal gear, keep you in that gear much longer or rev match and shift to put you in a better gear for racing and allow the car to go as fast as it can. Even though you put it into sport trans it will continue to shift for you which is why you can see that he isnt shifting himself after moving the gear selector over after he punches it. Moving the shifter over just engages the sport "mode' for the transmission and if you want to put it into manual you can either press the paddle while in D to have slower, softer and smoother manual shifting or when you're in "S" (shifter moved over to the side after being in D) you can use the shifter to shift that way or use the paddles from there which will give you the very fast shifts (known as the BMW farts IYKYK) and just overall much much better transmission performance. You never want to floor it in a race from coasting when you're in drive. Put the transmission in sport mode first or throttle it to force the trans to kick down a gear if your car doesn't have that kind of feature and then punch it or ideally manually get into gear and go from there.
