I’m glad you made a point about oil pan clearance.
I’m in the process of rounding up parts and have been wondering about this.
Just so happens I have that oil pan set up on hand.
$saved
I made another video of more parts recently check it out, might help with parts. Thank you for watching the videos !
@@claytonhatle.1988 I more or less binge watched your series on this swap.
Lots of great information right to the point.
I hope to see more of that truck you have going.
I’ve pulled my 94 out of the weeds. I have an automotive machine shop. Currently working up a L8T block I had bought off of a core supplier.
I’m using LS3 induction on it. I was in my other career field when those were in their hay day and that’s what I have.
Yet another convoluted scenario my simple mind gravitated towards.
@@hughobrien4139 there will be more to come for sure I have a ton of other things coming for the and I’ll need to check that out if been looking at a l8T for my 2500 obs but I think it would be cool doing a “Frankenstein” build like that
Doing a similar build on my 92 obs. Putting a L8t in it. Curious. What a/c unit did you use? And what adapters for it did you need?
Awesome stuff I’m tuned in!
Thank you!
@clayton hatle not to ruin the fun but how much would change if I wanted to do a clean swap to pass inspection in my 2 dr tahoe I live in Cali
I bought a 1988 single cab short bed and I want to swap something newer
Ls would be the easiest and cheapest for a swap
What engine harness are you using ?? And how are you running it with a manual ?
I’m using the psi conversion swap harness and my trans is a 6speed auto
You figure out the coolant hoses yet?
Yes check out the cooling system part 2 vidoe
Will the stock L83 dip stick and tube still work for that L84 oil pan ?
Sorry I’m just seeing this hope it’s not to late but the l84 pan moves it into a different location so the bends of the l83 tube won’t line up. Can try to bend it.
Spend the 35 dollars and buy the l84 dip stick and tube.
@@BuiltByMike I did
@@claytonhatle.1988dipstick didn't hit motor mount?
@@eduardobanos6099 it did a little I just tweeked it a little bit
Hey my 90 c1500 has a th400 3 speed transmission would do u know if that would work? Or can we use a 10 speed auto transmission?
Should be able to use the th400 a lot of people do
Can also use a 10 speed or 8 speed or 6 speed like me they will all work
Do you think it’s possible to fit a gen V LT motor into an s10? Or would there be some fitment issues?
I’ve definitely seen crazier swaps but I think you can make it work depending and the type of build. Full blown drag car, no heat or ac no wheel wells easy. But daily driver with trying to keep it as “factory” as possible probably due able but a lot harder
Hey bro how can I get in contact with you

What headers exactly please
Speed engineering long tube headers for c10 lt swap
I have those on my truck and the passenger side had to be bashed in not just a little …. Hmmmm maybe i have the wrong itc billet adapter plates. Btw I would ditch the clamshell style motor mount and go with solid …. I ripped 2 out in under 6 months
@@Gym-bars-cars I had to bash mine in quite a bit as well some people trim that section of frame but I wasn’t going to do that and I’ve having issues with my harness right now so it runs but doesn’t drive worth a damn
THANK YOU SO MUCH. TOTALLY AWESOME UPGRADE. TOTALLY AWSOME VIDEO!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!
Thank you for watching
Are you going to make a in-depth video on how to install the wiring
Yes I will, I actually started tearing apart factory harness already and forgot to record so I’ll walk through that the best I could but the whole Psi harness will be a video.
Wiring harness? And ecm
Factory ecm and harness is from psi conversion
Holley now controls 6l90 and 6l80 btw. They also do gen 5.
Yea sadly when I started Holley didn’t do the 6speed yet
Do you think that pan will work in a 1975 delta 88 big b body?😊
Ooo I don’t know to be honest. But $160 to try or almost $500 for a Holly swap pan.
@@claytonhatle.1988 have you seen the knock off holley lt pan on eBay? Like 260 $
Hey what’s up man I really need some help on my truck to I’m doin a 6.2 8 speed swap
So, your a/c compressor fit?
I notched my frame to make it fit but so that you don’t have too there is plenty other options
What engine/fuel management you going with? Everything looks like a 3k+ cost, whether it's Holly or custom harness/ecu tuned... Anything I'm missing for options? I have an L83/6L80E stock ECU/harness/pedal going into a 1969 Lemans.
My harness is a psi harness which is just a stand alone harness. With factory E92 ecu ans 6l90e trans. Im using the truck pedal(not sure which would work best for your build) and it’s less then $200. But the psi harness will control the fuel as well as long as you spec it that way my harness spec how I did was $1300 after tax and shipping
@@claytonhatle.1988 Did PSI tune the ECU? and still handles the transmission stuff?
NM, I found the website... Thanks for the info!
So they took out VATS and whatever was needed to just hook up an ignition and go right?
Yea they basically do what needs to be done to get it started, they don’t tune it or anything
