Dr. Mark, This WAS an exciting performance , but what I want to know is , at what point will all these vocal theatrics become too much and falls into the ridiculous ? Sometimes it seems these Singers try doing TOO MUCH and one starts squirming in ones seat .
Gonna be the odd man out here, but that song is just too simple and basic for all those vocal gymnastics. I'm not complaining about her ability, but her interpretation. I think a different song would be better for all those embellishments.
Somebody here commented that the singer is oversinging. I totally agree, She can hit the high notes, but it's overdone. She can add sone variations to her notes to sound softer and better. Singing is not just high notes.
This is a vocal showcase. It has her soft notes, her head voice, her riffs, her high notes and her stamina and a lot more. And she has Bolton in front of her. Of course she's flexing and showing off and "oversinging". But that doesn't mean she can't control herself. Listen to her sing Misty and slap yourself silly
