Sr. Pedro, Baliwag and Andoks are stuffed with lemon grass while they roasting their chicken And they are roasted on charcoal unlike chooks oven roasted.

I think it's good that you filmed this in your air bnb. Less noise is nice. My family always picks Baliwag for liempo and Andoks for chicken. We haven't tried chooks and sr pedro yet. 😂

I agree, there are many many roast chicken variations to choose from in the Philippines. I even tried the SnR roast chicken, that should be included in the taste test.

Yep most of them have their own unique seasonings and marinates for their chicken. They're always great for take-out when we're having a bout of indecisiveness on what to eat lol
Edit: yeah the chicken oil juices they add to chooks changes the game!
It is really hard to decide. I wanted to dislike Sr Pedro because the staff was kind of dickish, but their crappy attitudes aside, the chicken was really good. Andok's was still my favourite and you are correct, JP. The juices from Chooks is a game changer

Andoks and baliwag are my go to chicken rotisserie. I remember when i was younger, there were free atchara given. The bottled ones are quite expensive now but that's my go to side/sauce for the chicken.

@@PureDetour glad you're enjoying food here in the Philippines. next try diniguan. But not the one with pork intestine, buy the ones with pork belly, they are amazing. Goldiucks diniguan plus photo is amazing, but rice + dinuguan is still my favorite and also make sure try kare kare and sisig!

I thought the baliwag and andoks sauce tasted the same. And i really think you don't need it with the chicken. I can see using it if you had a side of rice with the chicken and mixing all of it up

Before I left for the US. There was only 2, Andoks and Baliwag. Andoks was the first. Every chicken are pre marinated before sending to each branch. I don't know if they do it in house, before they only have a push cart. Andoks was my first choice. It's the closest to the taste and way the chicken is cook in the Visayas. Except we use native chicken.
I'll bet it is unbelievably delicious if they use native chickens in Visayas. As to these, I agree with you, Andok's all the way
I recommend you eat Balamban Liempo , Jerry's Grill, Max

Whenever you’re back in Cebu Geoff, you have to try Joules lechon manok!!! So far they’re the best in Cebu. Their main branch is in Talamban, Cebu City but have expanded to Liloan and Consolacion. A must try lechon manok!! 😊😊😊

I see this video of yours today eating that andoks burger. I am curious and decided to find andoks near me..I walked till I found Andoks ..I ordered thr regular and spicy dokito burger..I bring it home then tasted it. O wow that is heavenly tastes..chicken burgers..

Go to Cebu. Look for Joule's in Talamban. You can't beat that chicken.

Dokito Burger Spicy is the best chicken burger period. I've had them all over the world but nothing like it. Always served freshly made. Awesome😋

I prefer Baliwag lechon manok, but Andoks wins the sauce for me, Baliwag sauce is too sweet. Sauces are there for Filipinos who always eat it with rice, but I agree, if you have the means and don't eat rice, just the chicken by itself is awesome.
I kind of figured the sauce would be more relevant if having it with rice like a normal human being. I ate 2.5 chickens and a burger on this day so I avoided rice. 😁

#1 Andoks
#2 Senior Pedro w/ ToyoMansi and chilli sauce.
#3 Lechon Baliwag (skip the sauce, andoks sauce is better)
#4 Chooks to go. (Too sweet for me compared to all of them especially compared to 1 & 2)
If you can, you should also try Andok’s Lechon Baka & their Inihaw na Liempo. Both are superb.
I agree 100% with Andok's and I think If I had to rank 1-4 mine would be idenitcal to yours. Maybe a swap of Sr Pedro and Baliwag, I can't decide on them.
As to the Liempo I have been asked countless times to make a video featuring Liempo from multiple places so that video is in the planning stages. There were most likely be a part 2 to the lechon manok as people have given me the names of multiple other places to try as well.

Definitely, Baliwag lechon Manok. It is a little bit bigger in size that were shared up to at least 3 persons.

My favorite is Chick N Juicy you should try it, but my 2nd favorite is Chooks Pepper Roast flavor. Reason is because if you have leftovers this 2 is still juicy.

Late comment. Original Chooks is the one to get from Chooks. Sr. Pedro is good but needs Soy-Calamansi with chili (Sili) dipping Sauce. Sweet liver gravy is standard with Lecheon from Manila.
I have told everybody this, but I am honestly shocked there is no clear cut winner based on the comments of this video. I thought for sure there would be a unanimous favourite but it is pretty even across the board

You'd be very correct in your assumption of the sauce, that is a liver-based lechon sauce. I don't love it on lechon manok's dark meat, it's something I typically only use if the white meat is a bit dry.

Before I went to prison theresonly 2 choices of lechon manok in manila. Baliuag and Andoks only. Now I got justice and become free, theres a lot of choices now of lechon manok and I'm so excited to try all!
