Welcome to the taste of Vietnamese foods. Unlike western food, Vietnamese food has no cream or cheese, only natural ingredients with specific spices for each dish or regions. Good taste without overwhelming. The key to eat more and more.
@@PureDetour If you're going to have cheese, then do it at Pizza 4Ps! I hear they having AMAZING Italian food there. It's located in all the major cities, so you should be able to find one in Hanoi when you get there. The restaurant chain was started by a Japanese guy in Vietnam and has since expanded to other parts of SE Asia, I believe.
I have had Coconut coffee here but not from there. Unfortunately time is dwindling down here in Ho chi Minh quickly so if you have any suggestions for Hanoi or Danang, I am all ears!😁
@@PureDetour Cong Coffee is all over Vietnam and they are famous for their coconut coffee. You should be able to get in in all the big cities as Cong Coffee is a chain. But other independent coffee shops have them, too. Don't forget to try the salted coffee as well as the peanut coffee when you're in the Central Region (you should be able to find salted coffee up in Hanoi along with egg coffee). Try yogurt and pandan coffee, too.
Anywhere in particular you want me to go? I will be based in Danang and Hanoi for 4 weeks each. Unfortunately with only 90 days allowed in country it does not allow me enough time to see the whole country
@@PureDetour If you like the sea, there are DA NANG, NHA TRANG, PHU QUOC, HA LONG, and if you like the plateau, there are DALAT, SAPA, HA GIANG. If you are passionate about cuisine, you should try the specialties of the three regions: HA NOI, HUE, and HCM Of course there are many other localities with beautiful scenery and specialty foods, but if you don't have enough time, you should go to the above places first.
I have two more months left on my visa so I will definitely be in Hanoi and Hue at some point. If there are specific dishes you would like to see let me know and I will do my best to get them in a video for you.
Great video. Loved how you enjoyed the food so much. Vietnam has amazing cuisine, and the hospitality is always top notch. When you’re in Da Nang, try Madame Lan. When you’re in Hanoi, Pho Bat Dan has the best pho I’ve ever eaten. Bun Cha Obama is a bucket list restaurant too. Enjoy!
If you’re into dessert in Vietnam, gato trứng muối chà bông (Salted eggs and pork floss sponge cake) is a must. It’s a staple dessert in Vietnam, my go-to whenever I crave for cake. Besides that, you don’t wanna missing out on flan with shaved ice, coffee and condensed milk. I hope you can enjoy yourself in Vietnam because there’s just so much to offer.
I am putting gato trứng muối chà bông into y spread sheet to try and find it. That sounds awesome, thank you.🙏 The Flan I can do without. I am not a fan of flan at all.
@@PureDetour Not sure why Viets like that pork floss sponge cake as I don't think it's something Westerners will like. It's an odd combination for Westerners. Plenty of other great desserts out there that I think will mesh better with Western palates. Try the pandan sticky rice with coconut ice cream or avocado ice cream (popular in the Central Region). Better yet, hunt down the grilled bananas in sticky rice and doused in coconut sauce. This dessert won a SE Asian dessert contest years ago.
Tip for crossing street in Vietnam: Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . Don’t worry about it! The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across the streams of motobike! -motobykers knows how to avoid you themself in chaos-order! remmember do not run and stop suddently , accident immidiatly ! Don’t be affraid off and do it if you want to be safety in the crazy- rule traffic in Vietnam.
Great tips my friend. I don't find crossing a street here any different than any other SE Asian nation. And certainly a lot less dangerous than doing it in some African countries I have been to. 😂
I'm suggesting a way to prepare your noodles (Hu Tieu, Pho, Bun, etc.) in Vietnam. 1. Try the original taste of the noodles right after they are served; don't add anything to your bowl yet. 2. Lime, vegetables, chili sauce, and sa tế are optional; don't mix everything together. Here's the order I usually follow: Lime: Squeeze a bit into your bowl and taste it. (1, 2, 3, 4... lime, it's your choice). Vegetables: Add them sparingly. Try different ones to discover which you prefer. Again, taste your dish. Sauce, Sa tế: I generally skip chili sauce and Sa tế, preferring the broth's original flavor. Only add it if you find the soup lacking in flavor or not spicy enough for your liking. Sa tế is spicer and more intense than Chili sauce.
Nice video. I like snail soup aswell. Its a flavour that very unique. I am not sure if you eat it with vinegar. I am used to eating it with lime.maybe Vinegar is northern style.
I still can’t say for certain what it was but it reminded me of palm vinegar. Slightly sour yet a little sweet. Whatever at it was it worked with the bun oc
Hi guys, Welcome to VietNam, Thanks for sharing video about VietNam. If you have a lot of time. I can recommend you to go to some famous places like Ha Giang or Sapa to see the natural scenery of Vietnam. There are many tourists who come here and are very surprised about it. Hopefully my suggestions will help you have more experiences when traveling in Vietnam. Have a nice trip!
Hủ Tiếu means the types of white noodles, and Nam Vang literally means Pnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia). It's a Pnom Penh noodles style I guess, since we do have hủ tiếu in Vietnam, too.

Anthony Bourdain was certainly an influence for me, but my desire to come to this country started long before anybody knew who Anthony Bourdain was. This started for me in the mid 80's but I am certain his love of the country only intensified my desire to come here
I love your videos. There's no exaggerations, just purely enjoy the food and give honest thoughts 😊 You're such an amazing, down-to-earth food blogger!
😂 Funny enough you're not the first person to tell me that. It started a couple of years ago in Egypt and has continued through multiple countries. I had no idea who Jurgen Klopp was before then.
@@PureDetour Most Western vloggers love Hanoi and Ninh Binh. HCMC tries to be too Western whereas Hanoi keeps to its traditions, culture, etc. It has a charm that HCMC does not. When Westerners travel, they want to see something different, not something they can see at home and Saigonese people don't understand this as they are so proud of how "modern" HCMC is. Modern isn't always better for Western travelers. Besides, if people wanted modern, they'd head to Japan.

Thank you so much my friend. I tried not to do Bhan Mi in the first couple of videos too, but it's everywhere and hard to resist. Needless to say it will appear in 2 of my first 3 videos in Vietnam😁
Welcome to the taste of Vietnamese foods.
Unlike western food, Vietnamese food has no cream or cheese, only natural ingredients with specific spices for each dish or regions. Good taste without overwhelming. The key to eat more and more.
Shhh, I had cheese on a dish yesterday😁
@@PureDetour If you're going to have cheese, then do it at Pizza 4Ps! I hear they having AMAZING Italian food there. It's located in all the major cities, so you should be able to find one in Hanoi when you get there. The restaurant chain was started by a Japanese guy in Vietnam and has since expanded to other parts of SE Asia, I believe.
lol you eat that chilli like a champ 💪💪, hope you have a nice and safe trip my friend.. Greeting from Vietnam 🙆♂🙆♂❤❤
Love me some chili's 🌶️😋
Thank you for the kind words my friend
Welcome to Việt Nam dude! I think you should try coconut coffee at "Cộng coffee shop" it will blow your mine 😊 Enjoy!!!!!
Hope you will go to all provinces of VIETNAM to enjoy the food and cakes
Anywhere in particular you want me to go? I will be based in Danang and Hanoi for 4 weeks each. Unfortunately with only 90 days allowed in country it does not allow me enough time to see the whole country
@@PureDetour If you like the sea, there are DA NANG, NHA TRANG, PHU QUOC, HA LONG, and if you like the plateau, there are DALAT, SAPA, HA GIANG. If you are passionate about cuisine, you should try the specialties of the three regions: HA NOI, HUE, and HCM
Of course there are many other localities with beautiful scenery and specialty foods, but if you don't have enough time, you should go to the above places first.
I have two more months left on my visa so I will definitely be in Hanoi and Hue at some point. If there are specific dishes you would like to see let me know and I will do my best to get them in a video for you.
Thank you for such a great video on Vietnamese street food!!!
Thank you so much for watching my friend. Hope to see you on future videos
Enjoy!
Will do my friend. Thank you so much for tuning in
👍❤️❤️❤️
Chào bạn 👍 ! Tất cả các món bạn ăn nóng sẽ ngon hơn nhé ❤️
Cảm ơn lời khuyên của bạn tôi
If you’re into dessert in Vietnam, gato trứng muối chà bông (Salted eggs and pork floss sponge cake) is a must. It’s a staple dessert in Vietnam, my go-to whenever I crave for cake. Besides that, you don’t wanna missing out on flan with shaved ice, coffee and condensed milk.
I hope you can enjoy yourself in Vietnam because there’s just so much to offer.
I am putting gato trứng muối chà bông into y spread sheet to try and find it. That sounds awesome, thank you.🙏
The Flan I can do without.
Nhìn thấy món ăn họ đem ra thì mình thấy ở đây nấu ăn ngon ❤❤❤
Mỗi thứ đều ngon😋
healthier food there it seems :-) will it mean weight loss?
Probably not, Elf
Anyway, thanks for watching❤️
that soup is from Cambodia and the name is the Vietnamese name for Cambodia years ago.
Vietnam is the only place in the world where you could not get enough dong the more dong the better
😂😂😂
Tip for crossing street in Vietnam:
Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN .
Here's the order I usually follow:
Lime: Squeeze a bit into your bowl and taste it.
Great suggestion! Will do exactly this the next time I have any soup dish😋
Nice Video, thanks
Glad you liked it! thanks for watching
Hi guys,
Welcome to VietNam, Thanks for sharing video about VietNam.
Right on, nice travels dude! :)
Thank you so much my friend❤️
There you Go!!! The very First Vietnam Vlog from Pure Detour. Happy camper here!!! Missed you bro! Oeder 1 Pho Bo for me will you??
Will do my best to get that on camera for you. I have avoided any form of Pho since I got here.😁
Hủ Tiếu means the types of white noodles, and Nam Vang literally means Pnom Penh (the capital of Cambodia). It's a Pnom Penh noodles style I guess, since we do have hủ tiếu in Vietnam, too.
You are correct. Many people gave me the details after releasing this video because I had no idea. Thank you
Da Nang is my #1 city in VN, enjoy!
From USA!
Thank you my friend
bánh su kem sound diabetes :).
Diabetes for sure. Delicious, but definitely will end with diabetes if you eat to much of this.😂
I love the way how you make your video. Nice. Looking forward to your next onces.
Thank you so much my friend

Thank you for visiting Vietnam !
Thank you and all of the Vietnamese people for welcoming me. ❤️
Welcome to Vietnam ❤
Thank you so much!☺️
Glad you like Vietnamese's food
Thank you my friend🙏
You genuinely love the food and it shows! Your reactions are awesome! I promise you with the enthusiasm like this, the channel gonna blow up (in a good way) haha
Thank you so much!!😊
delicious Vietnamese food, and very cheap living cost.
Absolutely my friend!💯
you probably influenced by Anthony Bourdain because Vietnam was his number 1 country also
Anthony Bourdain was certainly an influence for me, but my desire to come to this country started long before anybody knew who Anthony Bourdain was. This started for me in the mid 80's but I am certain his love of the country only intensified my desire to come here
Vietnamese food is healthy because you always need to eat with a lot of vegetables. But as I can see you only eat a little of it.
Was just learning how to do it in this video my friend. It helped when I got locals to help me out a bit
Quê hương của cố vị lãnh tụ. Hồ Chí Minh. Cũng rất là nhiều món ngon. Của Việt Nam
Nhiều món ngon quá bạn ơi
I love your videos. There's no exaggerations, just purely enjoy the food and give honest thoughts 😊 You're such an amazing, down-to-earth food blogger!
Thank you so much ❤️
Please consider visiting Nha Trang in my opnionin a better spot than Da Nang and has amazing seafood. Amazing clean beaches safe travels !
Would love to, unfortunately with limited amounts of time I can be in country all of my current trip was pre arranged. I will definitely be back tough
hi sir, you look like JUREN KLOPP THE MANAGER OF LIVERPOOL
😂 Funny enough you're not the first person to tell me that. It started a couple of years ago in Egypt and has continued through multiple countries. I had no idea who Jurgen Klopp was before then.
come to hanoi and ninh binh thats my favorite place
Will be in Hanoi the end of March
@@PureDetour Most Western vloggers love Hanoi and Ninh Binh. HCMC tries to be too Western whereas Hanoi keeps to its traditions, culture, etc. It has a charm that HCMC does not. When Westerners travel, they want to see something different, not something they can see at home and Saigonese people don't understand this as they are so proud of how "modern" HCMC is. Modern isn't always better for Western travelers. Besides, if people wanted modern, they'd head to Japan.
