      There’s a local fastfood joint called SEX, short for Sinangag EXpress and their silogs, particularly the tapsilog, are delectable. They are also available for delivery in food delivery apps. But this can get tricky, colleagues and I would joke about having SEX for lunch. :D

      My favorite silog is Liemposilog. It's fried pork belly (Liempo), Sinangag (garlic fried rice) and itlog (egg).
      Here in our country, you can mix match the Silogs, we even have sisiglog, if you're fond of sisig :)

    Amazing another subscriber from me! Did you know why the Filipinos have a love affair with vinegar or anything sour? It’s because of the climate, like on a hot day you want a lemonade. It’s the same thing, Philippines is hot so sour is a famous flavor

    Sorry that's not the traditional lechon. We call that lechon kawali.
    Lechon that Anthony Bordaine had was the spit roasted lechon pig with smooth crispy skin, in Luzon served w liver sauce, in Cebu, they prefer it without.

      How is FRIED EGG a big deal in the Philippines? Filipino workers in the big cities were forced to eat FRIED EGGS for lunch and dinner. FRIED EGGS are cheaper than vegetable, that is the only reason those Tapsilog exist. The Filipino masses deserve better meals. No one in Cambodia or Laos will be going out for dinner just to eat FRIED EGGS and Rice with garlic.

    • @PureDetour
      @PureDetour  Год назад +5

      @@eduardochavacano, Well there is where you are wrong. In fact, my favourite dish in the whole world and extremely popular amongst locals tfrom Thailand is called Pad Krapau. It's minced pork stir fried with Thai holy basil and chilis. Served with rice and wait for it..............A FRIED EGG.
      One of the most popular street foods in Cambodia is fried rice with eggs.
      And a very popular one in Laos is called Kua mee. Stir fried noodles with fried eggs or omelette strips
      Both Malaysia and Indnesia are know for either hard boiled eggs and in some cases half boiled eggs being served with numerous meals

    • @bashersbeware
      @bashersbeware Год назад

      @@eduardochavacano wahahahahaha! How does it feel to get slapped and be exposed as an idiot? The egg is there to break monotony. It's also there as an extender as it is better to see a plate with 3 things on it instead of just rice and a viand. Want me to go on? Plating purposes. An egg occupies 1/3 of a plate. It gives you a sense of satisfaction to see a full plate before you, which is value for money. Next time you research first before insinuating something you're totally ignorant of. Why don't you try selling food at P120 per plate that are not Silogs and have better portions than the Silogs you're belittling. Let's see if the masses can afford them or better yet, let's see at the end of the day who gets their return of investment first, you, who sells P120 plates with better portions of meals or the Silog makers, who also sells them at P120 but gets a more mark up than you. I think, later on you'll also be also forced to sell Silogs because your P120 plate with better portions is not sustainable from a business standpoint.

    Unfortunately that’s not the traditional lechon Anthony Bourdain was identifying. Although that style is also good, you have to try the whole pig roasted. The crispy skin and juicy meet is better than the one you tried. Although I can’t say no to that one also. Good substitute if you don’t have a whole pig.

      @@PureDetour Alas, I only know “Crisostomo” restaurant but they are based in Metro Manila. But I do think you can find one that serves conchinillo in Cebu too. There’s a tradition when cutting/portioning the suckling pig, you would only need a plate instead of a knife. It’s that tender and moist.
      Most popular brand of liver sauce is called, “Mang Tomas” which comes in plain and spicy variants. Available in all stores nationwide. *not a paid promotion* :D
