If Audi’s sizzling 4.1 second E-Tron GT gets your boy-juices flowing, then the 3.3 second RS E-Tron GT will have you reaching for the Kleenex, in a thoroughly wholesome and G-Rated kind of way of course.
While some Audis have deliciously filthy V8’s that make you cry with yearning, GT e-Tron RS fans that yearning into a roaring blaze. It has a couple of hefty electric motors glued into its gusset that make those testosterone-laden man-magnets blush with embarrassment.
As if all that wasn’t enough, we first laid eyes on the RS E-Tron GT which made us all quiver with anticipation. Its vivacious personality exudes from every pore, and even when waiting patiently at the kerb, it looks like it is planning ways to kill you and get away with it.
It is one of the very few cars to look better in dark and brooding hews because its front mask has the look of a bulldog with a personality disorder. Dressed for a formal occasion, RS E-Tron GT is a shadowy protagonist untouchable by the law. GT cars come in all shapes and sizes, and as electric drives allow more freedom in design, we can expect the wildest of concepts to reach fruition.
It is a sinful oversight that the driver rarely gets to see the fabulous light show put on by the rear arrays. Making the most of the gracefully arcing roofline, a large hatch gives the Audi an unexpected practicality. A family of 4 could sneak away for a quickie break amongst the vines, especially if all are packing soft totes.
The Audi rings on the grille are done in $700 worth of black. They say happiness is hard to put a price on, but apparently not that hard.
