okay that wallpaper thing is cool af
You can even extend the wallpaper so it goes from far away in the always-on display to kinda close in lock screen to very close when unlocked. Earth is also available and you can pick different, cool-looking spots on earth to zoom on when unlocked.
I have activated it on my Xiaomi Mi 9t Pro and it works flawlessly, such a great and cool feature.

Those kind of style of Camera bumps are quite common nowadays for Android Phones here in Asia. I have a "Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro" which i got last year around October, and it has a 4 Camera (64MP Main, 8MP Ultra-wide, 2MP Macro and Depth Sensor) set-up at the center, with a bump slightly bigger than the one on this one. Without the protective case, the phone would wobble a lot. But its a nice phone which i brought for around US$200 based on current currency rates (6GB RAM, 64GB Storage, MediaTek Helio G90T, Dual SIM with extra Micro SD slot, 4500mAh). Its supposed to be a mid-range budget phone here (high-range phones like iPhone SE usually costs around US$580; yeah any phone above US$450 is usually considered a high-range here).
Its a bad feeling that somebody has more ram in his phone then me in my pc

I think that when you're comparing the photo-taking of each device, you need to do so on a third screen, so that the images are viewed on the exact same screen. Some of the differences in picture quality that you think you're seeing may not be because of the camera but because of the screen upon which it is being viewed. I'd pick the xiaomi over the pixel every single day. Camera quality is a lot better.
To be fair I'm pretty sure they tested it on the shipped firmware. Xiaomi just released their update for miui12 that DXOmark used for the ranking test. The update had a bunch of camera optimizations and coloring changes.
I bought a mi mix 3 on launch about 2 years ago. I've had tons of updates and security patches since purchase and my camera is easily twice as good as when I originally bought it.
Xiaomi may be Chinese but I've got more updates on my mix than with any LG phone ever 😂 I'll probably be picking up a mi 10 pro to replace my aging mix🤷♂️

@@sconcepx that's funny, I just just placed an order for a a mi 10 pro.
I really like the ultra, but I use my phone for a lot of RUclips and the mi 10 pro has better speakers and a longer battery life. At the time of writing this, a 256gb pro is roughly $400+ cheaper than a 128gb ultra.
How do you like the camera? From what I can tell the pro and ultra are nearly identical with the exception of zoom photos. I'm sure it's a significant upgrade from the dual 12mp shooters in my mix 3.
@@Tekgnome. dont even mention LG updates, its almost non existent lol
@@Tekgnome. coming from the Mix 3 its a huge improvement however it does have auto focus issues which is related to the Sammy lens. Unfortunately Sammy has the same issues on their phones too, different sensors but very similar 108MP sensors.
Also if you were coming from the Mix 3 its a single speaker. I think you would have been happy with the Ultras hybrid speaker setup if you have never heard the 10 Pros. For me I already had the 10 Pro before they released the Ultra. I really wanted it but unfortunately even just watching the RUclips comparisons between the Pro and Ultra you can hear a massive difference and I'm a heavy media user and casual gamer so wasn't willing to go backwards on the speakers!
Regardless coming from the Mix 3 you'll be very happy all round, except for the hole punch camera at the front. Ive got a Mix 3 too and still love the look of it. Was going to keep it for gaming but after using the 10 Pro speakers on the Mix were a deal breaker. Oh and other issue with the 10 Pro is when you game you have to have the camera at the top right otherwise if you have it on the bottom left you block the speakers with your palms. But you eventually get used to it.

If you are going to compare another phones cameras to a Pixel, you should at least go into the editor and put auto edit on the MI 10, as the Pixel auto edits it's photos as standard.
Edit: due to someone else's comment, I thought I'd add, all phones have basic editing tools, which will include an auto edit, once in the gallery it'll be three clicks away, so not hard at all.
But... most people who buy the phone wouldn't have that. That's why Pixel pictures are better overall.
Na the right way would be to use gcam on the non-pixel phone.
@@ranaakhil Here's the thing, if someone is looking for a review of a phone, they want to know how good the phone and its software is before buying. This phone uses a different camera app, and GCam isn't technically supposed to be on it. Using GCam and putting edits on a phone that doesn't do that stuff is not a true representation of that phone.

Very informative review (unboxing or w/e this video was), especially the part where you compare two phone cameras on two different screens : ))))
Runescape has been doing that moving pin number for their bank access for a couple years now and its been an interesting security feature
well, the alarm when a new app is started is to tell you that this app requires some kind of authorization such as location and data, you can choose on miui i believe to refuse, give fake ones, allow, and allow only when the app is running. Donno why you just assumed you gave information to chinese government
As someone who has been using the Redmi Note 7 for over a year, I'm always amused with the comments when a Xiaomi phone is brought up.
They would bad mouth MIUI without ever trying it, because if they did, they wouldn't be able to do it. Remember when Linus made a video about screen recording being added on Android 10? I had that with Android 9 and MIUI 10. As for support, this shipped with Android 9 and MIUI 10, I already have Android 10 and MIUI 11, and it's scheduled to get MIUI 12, which most likely will include all the features of Android 11 (which it will most likely not recive).
They would then throw the ads card. I will admit, I had that when I took it out of the box, a Google search later (and I don't remember searching it, Google recommended it, you know, not suspiscious at all), and it was fixed.
Performance, camera and battery are still amazing.
And of course, when all fails, we yell CCP lol.
Almost as if ANY Android phone can't track you with a precision of 20 meters and handle that info to any agency that wants to find you. Or like they don't do targeted ads, you know, like when you mention the liquor Jagermister to your brother, only to have it pop off on Instagram the next day.
And for just 12000ARS (that's Argentina by the way) when it beated the crap out of the A30 that was double the price? Yeah, when this phone dies, I will look for another midrange killer from Xiaomi.
they have had that ego for so long and failed to pay attention to the real world.

If you watched more you’d know he always has an iPhone and a Note 9, but prefers Apple’s watch’s
It seams that you never has hold a Xiaomi phone in your hands. I bought my first 4,5 years ago, Xiaomi Mi 5 and this year I bought the new Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro.
I live in Europe.
Oh I still have it in my drawer, just how I remember it was so light, the cutting-hand edges, and the physical home button... Feels like travelling thru time.
would you get this phone or wait for the new samsung to come out in a few months?
You will be amazed on how gorgeous the image quality is from the main camera. (Since over 80% of your videos & photos shown are taken by the zoom camera.)
Too bad Linus has a prejudice on chinese products. In his eyes it will look 5 times as bad the actual quality
Original title: This was SURPRISING
Bold of you to assume he will change the title.
@edmunds tomsons didnt miss it, they change their titles after publishing everytime
@@blankbackgroundimage457 he did

Linus: Scans fingerprint into chinese phone
Also Linus: Fingerprints found at crime scene
It's a common trend in High megapixel Chinese phones , that's center is Sharp & when you go to the edges it becomes blurry , & many people call those images Sharp by only looking at the centre.
I had no idea u had an unbox therapy channel too. Great job.
Almost as surprising as our sponsor! Let me guess, PIA!
Edit: Wow. I was actually right.
Haha, he is so predictable
08:27 Linus giving away his fingerprint to China.
You always do to NSA, so...
At least give them the middle finger! 🤣
@@EdgarRenje well, NSA didn't start a pandemic for lolz.
@@rohitk8797 OMG, I hope you don't really believe this. If so, US propaganda was successful. Congratulations.
@@EdgarRenje yeah just look how easy they forgot what Edward Snowden leaked some years ago and the only thing these sheep repeat is "Chinese government spy us". It's incredible how good the US propaganda work's
It would be really awesome if you guys did a current Tablet Roundup. My grandmother needs a tablet, and the last time I looked into tablets I found the Nexus 7...
Does this have radio, infrared, autocall recording, nfc (but not really a necessary), USB-C compatible, expandable memory card?
8:15. that's a pretty old feature, like even when note 1 was just out there were apps to lock specific apps on the phone with this feature.
With that said, don't think it has ever been implemented in system-level by phone manufacturers outside of Asia.
Xiaomi actually has lot's of well priced phones, it's just that you have to accept their weird MIUI os that I dislike.
one thing i love about miui is the app drawer can lock apps and prevent other apps from running in the background, by just pressing the multitask button. Very useful for multitasking and sorting your shit. i have mi a2 running android one now (old af, i know) and i really miss that feature.
Flash a custom rom on it, make it look just like you want
I actually really enjoy MIUI. There are some awesome features like the cool Super Wallpapers Linus showed or floating windows for multitasking and other little stuff. It just gives you more options for so many things to customize, even the icons of the apps in the notification shade are customizable. Can be overwhelming, but not for me. I'm on MIUI 12 since about 2,5 months, had many bugs in the beginning, they all got sorted out after some time. Before you say that's too late, I've activated early updates so I'm fine with some bugs.
Most Xiaomi users install the poco luncher, that is pretty cool. Fortunately it's an android phone and you can do whatever you want. Personally, I like the Microsoft luncher.
MiUI is generally considered one of the very best android ui by Chinese consumers, and it’s well optimized. But yeah it’s very specific to the Chinese market
Hey, my old stompin grounds - I use to work at the Fort pub & grill.
BTW Linus, are you the lead singer of the Strumbellas ??
Look forward to more of your great energetic tech vids. & music??
Cheers from B.C.
BTW Linus, the comment regarding you looking like the lead singer of the Stumbellas WAS a compliment.
"It's a chunky boy compared to the note 9 ..."
I couldn't even see the difference so had to look it up: it's a staggering 0.7 mm thicker! WOW, chunky indeed
That's a rather big difference when it comes to phones, but it's really not a big deal, it's much more practical to have thicker phones.
I hope he wasn't serious with that comment.....look at the note 20 ultra and s20 ultra....those camera add-ons dwarf the mi 10 ultra
"No bad for a Chinese phone camera"
Lmfao has Linus ever heard of Huawei
Yeah literally the best camera on a phone.
Except not.
Always on display with that wallpaper completes the experience perfectly!
That moving pin-pad is brilliant.
Man I bought my first Xiaomi phone last month, Mi Note 10 Lite; to be honest it is one of the best phones I have ever hold.
and it's the best phone on earth with that price premium budget
I legit was about to buy one...
Just do it. It's a monster of a phone, and Xiaomi is far less shady with their privacy stuff. Believe me, you will become a fan if you use this one.
Buy a used S20 ultra for 1k [Many below 1k]
Way better In every way
@@davidlegkodukh6969 No, he can like other stuff than you do.
For example i don't like Samsung android skin and like a lot the new MIUI12 from xiaomi.
It's not better in every way.

Yeah, everyone else respects it and does not have anything to do with whatever NSA is working on. LOL
