@@TJ_Wonderfullandscape73 hi, a few questions. i'm interested in getting a phone. how do you compare this with the k30 pro zoom edition... are you comfortable with the punch hole camera?
Living in China, I went by the Xiaomi store yesterday and saw this in the store. I immediately fell in love with it, sold my Galaxy Fold, and bought the 12g ram, 256gb storage version. It's an absolute joy so far, and I'm especially enjoying the little touches that Xiaomi has put into the phone. To give an example, I often run a VPN to watch RUclips in China. While the VPN is running, wechat (think Chinese snapchat) often gives server access failure messages. On my Galaxy Fold and Huawei P40 Pro, these would just be generic messages with no indication of which app was causing them. On the Mi 10 Ultra, it actually says which app is causing the error message. It's a small but welcome touch. Other things of note on this phone are the fantastic cameras, excellent haptic motor, beautiful design aesthetic, etc. All in all, I'm very happy with the phone. It's actually been a long time since I've used a Xiaomi phone and I'm really quite surprised that this is a Xiaomi phone and not a Samsung or Huawei, the difference in quality between this phone and the phones Xiaomi used to make is just unbelievable.
Can you check one thing for me please? I assume it has round edges, just like mine mi 10 pro has? So if you tap slightly on keyboard buttons the one that are drawn on the screen edges are they 100% always registered? Because in my pro it's not always getting my taps. Doesn't matter if I set edge's deadzone to zero it's still not perfect. With my s10+ I didn't have this problem. Nevertheless edges are shit, because they reflect light and are shifting colours, so I'm waiting for xiaomi flagship without edges...
@@CaidicusProductions swiftkey, but it's happening even in other apps like pressing dots on RUclips. And it's not always just tap button what's near the edge and 1 on 10 taps it won't register. Most annoying is backspace, since you usually press it more times.

Nice review, but consider that some people (ehm, me too) want to put the display protection shield on early. I love flat screen phones, for these can accept the shield flawlessly and the reviewer could make a comment on that. There is nothing like seeing that scratch over and over. Of course, many people want their phone to turn off completely when they use the OFF switch. I want to be sure the phone does not radiate at night doing updates or whatnots right next to my head while, ironically, can be set not to disturb me with calls. I would prefer a bigger battery over 120W fast charging but I think Xiaomi is showing off with this feature that's why they've put it in. Bigger battery means fewer charge cycles hence longer battery life through the day and years.
Pity they dropped the notification LED. The OSD is useless as it only flashes WHEN a notifcation comes through so if you left your phone unattended for a while you have to keep unlocking to see if you got any messages.
