  • I guess I'm officially a Williams guy now. But if Moon Patrol was really developed by Irem, does it actually count? In any case, join me in this pickup of another #arcade #restoration project cabinet -- my first Williams cocktail. But be sure to brace yourself for some potentially disturbing images of an arcade graveyard from this mini warehouse raid...

I see a water logged cab and I sometimes run away - hats off to you for saving it!

I had to replace the bottom ~6 inches from my Tempest cabaret due to water damage! I might have to replace a bunch of wood on this Moon Patrol cocktail too...

Thanks for sharing the story and for taking the pictures. I would love to have an arcade adventure like that.

Thanks! I regret not buying some of the waterlogged game PCBs - or all of them!

0:19 Instantly all the neighbors go back inside.

I can’t have them interfering with my shot! Although one neighbor has already inquired about commissioning me to fix up a few cabinets for his game room…

May I ask of you could you explain a little bit more about the condition of the Sega Mega tech cabinet? I don't quite understand what you meant when you said the cabinet was converted and the monitor was necked.

I don’t recall if that particular cabinet had necked monitors, but none of the original Sega parts were left on the inside. It had been converted to some random game and fully JAMMA-tized.

No offense, but I don't understand how a wind storm could blow the top of the tent away.....but the son did nothing for months to cover the arcade cabinets again.
Clearly these items meant a lot to his dad.
Am I missing anything to the story?
Or am I correct on that the son did nothing to cover the cabinets again?
I don't want to unfairly judge, but for crying out loud all they needed to do was cover them with a tarp again. I would never let something precious to my parents just sit outside for months without some protection.

No, I don’t think you’re missing anything. There could be parts to the story that I’m unaware of though. Definitely a sad situation all around. When elderly people become unable to take care of their things - whether pets, or property, or whatever - those things can suffer from neglect. It’s probably an all too-common thing, we just notice it more when it affects something we’re personally into. I do know the seller was crushed by what had happened to the stuff his father cared about, and he was really hoping at least some of it could be salvaged and find a good new home.

Did I miss it? How much did it cost you?

    • @overtimearcade

I didn’t mention it in the video, but I got it for $200. Some folks might think I overpaid based on the cabinet condition, but the parts alone justify it.

@@overtimearcade I think it's a good deal especially this day and age. It's all there.
