@@louisafoster1640 as cliche as it sounds you have to take getting sober one day at a time. Which really sucks cos at the start it's all you can think about. That's what alcohol truly does to you- it makes you feel like everything is so silly when drunk, but when the effect wears off you go into deep regret.

The progression of the experience was, in retrospect, oddly absurd. The bottle was on the top shelf of the kitchen pantry. I had to reach up quite high to retrieve it. I took down the bottle and poured a quantity into a glass in curiosity. I hadn’t intended to get tanked. The stuff hurt going down. I put the bottle back up on the shelf.
I returned later and repeated the procedure with no firm idea of my destination. The bottle came down, I poured and drank, and the bottle was returned to its place. This went on several more times in decreasing intervals of time. I realized I was thoroughly sloshed when I was weaving around in my (successful) attempt to put the bottle back.
The whole thing turned into a situation comedy when my music teacher arrived at my house to give a lesson, and I tried to play. It wasn’t a success and she left after a couple of minutes.
My parents were disapproving and amused. The result was punishment enough, and I didn’t incur any penalty beyond the painful embarrassment. :-)

But I blacked out and all I remember was violently vomiting into the bathtub of our Airbnb in the middle of the night and waking up downstairs with all the lights still turned on. For some reason, when I drink even the smallest amount of alcohol, like half a beer, I'll get hungover pretty bad in the morning. What's weird is that by noon I'll feel pretty good, and feel like exercising more than I might otherwise. Not sure if it's linked, but to me it seems to be a pattern.

    • @iGNiTETheKiD

They’re are no studies or clinical trials that state a night after drinking a beer u would be more willing to exercise. However everyone is different and drugs are subjective depending on the individual and effect us all differently. This may be a true effect that is exclusive to you, albeit that’s not a bad effect to have, as exercising has endless benefits including boosting ur mood, helping sleep, releasing natural endorphins boosting mood, so yeah.

I’ve talked to her many times pleading her to stop, to no avail. She has no job and lays in bed all day and somehow manages to buy alcohol whenever she needs it. I’ve told her that her liver will shut down and kill her at some point. She doesn’t care. There is no hope for her if she doesn’t make any attempt to stop on her own.

Alcohol can definitely be a viscous cycle. Not many people know this but for alcohol to give you that “buzzed” feeling it actually uses dopamine and serotonin. These neurotransmitters are important for good mood, motivation and reducing anxiety. When people keep “flushing” or using up these neurotransmitters every day they’re never actually operating at peak. So basically you’ll feel slightly more tired, flat and less motivated than your true self.

My last drunk on vodka chased with a monster energy drink four months ago was when I had dilated pupils, fast heart rate, shortness of breath, Lightheadedness, confusion, nausea, swelling of lymph nodes, fatigue, decreased appetite, decreased sleep, increased anxiety, double vision, hallucinations, dejavu episodes, migraine, and even a four second grand mal tonic clonic syncope. I usually a problem drinker but I'm so glad Im four months sober.

I still remember that time when I tried a fruit alcohol drink (only 3-5% or something). I was not able to finish that can at all because it made me feel really uncomfortably and sick in my stomach after a few sips. So I have been trying my best to stay away from it since then.

@@JoeMama-ly1kcyou made me think about the first time I tried alcohol. I could control my anxiety thoughts rather than “lose control”. I had a little bit though

For the study of information retention, the control group that did well didn't drink. This video implies that the control group day drank. If There was a 3rd category for non-drinking (along with day and night drinking), the non-drinking category would have won out as far as health goes.

I don't drink alcohol, period. To my memory I never have done it, and I'm going to continue not drinking it for the rest of my life.

Huh. The first time I was drunk, I didn't realize I was drunk--I thought my ADHD meds had worn off...I think it makes sense that since a lot (if not all, I forget) of ADHD symptoms involve the frontal lobe, as does alcohol, that alcohol would make me feel the same way as I do when I'm off my meds. I mean, CNS stimulant vs. CNS depressant.

Approximately for how long does alcohol affect your body in any way after you drink?

  • @krissifadwa
    @krissifadwa 2 года назад +1

The same high you're searching for in any drugs can be accessed by just being a regular human being. It's just you have to be patient and after a while, you will experience that "high-on-life" feel...

A few years ago, one of my friends in Arizona died from drinking too much alcohol. I was stunned, I couldn’t believe it! I feel guilty that I didn’t do anything to try to stop him from drinking alcohol. Obviously, I know alcohol is bad for us but I didn’t know you could die from drinking too much of it. All of you, please drink responsibly. Or if you cannot drink responsibly, then don’t drink at all.
