Forge is general-purpose. Anything that you could think to add in a mod will work with Forge. Fabric is lightweight. If you have a potato computer, Fabric will let your computer handle heavier mods.
@Bisnis 01 this too, I've actually spent a few hours going through different versions of MC to figure out which one gives me the most bang for my buck. So far I think 1.12.2 is the best for compatibility, at least for the mods I like using.
That slab one would be amazing for building houses. One color on the outside, and the inside could be a different thing, it could also work indoors. I know I hate having to have every room look very similar with the block use for the walls, but with this, each room can have its own wall look and the halls can look different than inside the rooms.
I really love these mod combos, I like to play with a loooot of mods. This really helps sift through compatibility issues and helps me plan my personal modpacks.
I love it when he doesn't use shaders and use default to help us see what it'll look like without shaders. I also love the fact that he's starting to combine the various types of mods to make it more interesting and exquisite. Keep it up!

@@epicredhot5675 Other mods such as Sodium have definitely overtaken it in terms of performance, but I wouldn't say it's useless for that. In vanilla Minecraft with the highest settings and 32 chunk render distance, I get 20fps. With Optifine installed using the same settings, I get nearly 60fps.
Infernal Expansion, Creatures and Beasts, Pandora's Creatures, BetterNether, AdventureZ, Danny's Expansion, and so much more also add more life to the Nether.
This was a great video, and a great idea. You could do like 100 of these. I had fun trying to guess what mods you would pick based on the category, since I've spent a long time looking for mods that improve various things.
I love these mod compilations videos because we can see what Minecraft is missing a lot: - A better generation - More sounds and ambiance - More variety in mobs and generation Great video btw :D
I haven't played with Pehkui yet, but I think it would have to be a config thing for spiders to be tiny. Pehkui is a magic mod (I think), so you'd have to manually change every spider you come across into a small one.
these videos are so perfect. ive downloaded some mods i find interest in to have fps boosts and stuff, and even with my god awful laptop im running minecraft over 150 fps. and the quality of life mods youve been showing me has made me want to play minecraft like i was a child everyday after school. I find it kinda funny how a lot of these mods literally do what Minecraft tries to do. I really hope that in the future (when Mojang runs out of ideas) Mojang is going to work more together with modders to bring these kinds of mods into vanilla Minecraft. I really think that would make Minecraft better than ever. not that Minecraft isn't already amazing.

So they are already working with modders but i would love if they would embrace their ideas more, rather then nitpicking specific parts of a mod for vanilla. again Minecraft is already really amazing. but i would love if they implemented mods more often and on bigger scales. It was when i saw that cave generation mod plus those audio mod i really came to the conclusion on how much better some mods do the thing Mojang is trying to.
@@jonathanreuter9668 I agree that Minecraft isn’t built like most third person games, but the third person it currently has is terrible. The shoulder view mod isn’t necessary but the first one is infinitely more flexible than the one we’ve been stuck with for years.
I personally think the Wyrmroost mod and ice and fire mod work quite well together because you can progress from taming some common drakes up to getting a dragon as big as a castle
YUNG's mods are amazing, one of them I'd a cave mid which isn't close to the 1.17 caves but it astoundingly overhauls vanilla cave gen. It does have similarities to the 1.17 caves like massive caves hundreds of blocks in diameter, and realistic cave gen not seen in 1.17 snapshots, I think it has 4 different types of caves vs the 2 new ones in 1.17. All of YUNG's mods revolve around world gen changes, I highly recommend. It's been around for quite some time I've been using it along with cave biome datapacks and it seems like a different game 😂

Absolutely loved your input and your great choices, and it inspired me to use a lot of these mods to create a visually and audibly stunning modpack for Minecraft! With the scarier caves you could install a shader, that produces light when you have a torch in your hand, so you can just see what's in front of you, but there might be a creeper or a zombie emerging from the darkness
Towers of the Wild + Paragliders (botw themed) + Wall-Jump! + Elenai Dodge + Waystones These are to improve exploring. Towers + Waystones give you a way to fast travel and to view the land. Paragliders + Dodge gives you a way to get down (dodging while gliding to get a speed boost). And wall jump just acts like a climbing mechanic.
They said that they never will for... simplicity. Notch even opposed slabs and stairs. But, they have thrown out simplicity long ago. Mojang is kidding themselves.
Just one thing to add: When you show anything that changed and/or add sound, be silente for a moment, so we can hear the sound :) That's it. Great video!

I know this is a 2 year old video, but I wanted to recommend a 3rd mod to compliment the 2 suggestions for torches; Jabelar's moving light sources mod. It makes it so light projects from burning objects - such as torches - whether they're in hand or moving around. So let's say you see a burning zombie in a dark cave with the pitch black mod - you'll see the area getting brighter the closer the burning zombie gets to you, and vice versa for it going away.

Just install Optifine or Sodium and don't use shaders. That should allow almost any modern PC to run at 20 render distance.

Actually The Torches that died out over time actually was implemented before i don't remember when but it was removed due to..... Reasons.
