Going vegan is the best thing in high school I started out as a vegetarian in 2010 when I was diagnosed with lupus I went vegan and I feel a hundred percent better stick with it and do not change it will pay off in the end

Yes, homemade almond butter and any more “first step basics from scratch” you’ve found to be doable. I’d love to be able to eventually do my own nut butters, non dairy milks, etc. ❤️😊
Nut butter from scratch is so easy! All you need is two things: raw almonds and a good robust food processor. Just dump them in and let your food processor run for 5-8 minutes. There will be a point where you think "this is never going to turn into almond butter" but just be patient and it will get creamy! :)
Right? I'm obsessed. The other day I actually decided to switch it up a tad and blend almond AND sunflower seeds. Great match! Yes, like the comments below, to make the almond butter all you need to do is blend roasted almonds until creamy in a food processor. I usually blend 1-2 lbs at a time. Yes! You can definitely gain weight with a vegan diet, and gain it the healthiest way possible. You've got to prioritize exercise to put on muscle mass though. Much healthier than doing it by eating animal products which can lead to serious disease later in life. Hello there. I am not a vegan. I would love to change my lifestyle to incorporate healthier options for me and my family. I don't think I can get them on board unless I come up with it some really good recipes. They are used to really good home cooked meals. We love our soul food and other ethnic foods. We all love to cook and three out of four of us need to loose weight. Two are diabetic type II. I have one autistic child who has never liked how meat tasted but fights me to eat his veggies. I have food allergies. So needless to say this is going to be a huge challenge. It's worth for my loved ones to make them healthy meals. I must say due to you and a few others I watch I am learning how to prepare healthier meals. So far we are doing meatless Mondays per the suggestion of another youtuber. So far so good. I need to sit down and make a list of all the things that I need to keep in my pantry for vegan meal day. My father was a vegetarian for years then became vegan the last 20 years of his life. He gave me a book called "Fit for Life" by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond that changed his life. He felt so good after following their plan that he started buying the book and giving it as gifts for birthdays and Christmas. So I have some idea of what I need to eat. My hubby, daughter and I need to loose weight. Our son just needs to eat better. I wanted you to know that I truly appreciate you and many others that make these videos. People like me need the help. You are an awesome woman. I appreciate you and all that you do and share with us. Be blessed!

Ms Kimlo just take it one day at a time and incorporate a plant based meal a few days out the week. My boyfriend isn’t vegan/vegetarian but I gave up meat and my dairy intake it’s make like twice a week. My son is 15 mon and he drinks almond milk. I prefer The Gardein beef crumble and I like the Beyond Burger. I make a green smoothie every morning so you could make that to make sure your son gets his veggies. My son loves smoothies.
I also make the fried cauliflower that sweet potato soul has on her page as well and it was good. My boyfriend even liked it. I have made a meatless lasagna with spinach (used Gardein beef crumble and meatless sausage)...i can’t remember the sausage brand i used but i found it in Kroger with the vegan stuff- Used whole wheat pasta and my boyfriend loved it. Good luck on your journey. Just be careful with eating processed plant based foods. You want to try to make as much on your own. But I understand with having kids.

Avocado toast! Never thought about adding chickpeas but I have topped with hummus. And while I would love to do the cacao nib smoothie it seems way to deck it in LOL. So I'd rather go for the kale smoothie. I agree that greens are the best way to go to start your morning.
Great ideas! My favorite easy breakfast (sometimes dinner, snack...) meal is oatmeal or cereal with nuts and seeds 😋 But pancakes are my favorites! Specially the sweet potato one 😉

I’ve been vegan for about 2 months (after being pescatarian for about 6 years) and have started cooking again since my old habit of take out is not working as well (even though most of my take out was from Whole Foods). I am learning tons from you and looking forward to trying so many of your recipes. By the way, being vegan is incredible for weight loss - the elimination of dairy has resulted in a slow and consistent drop in pounds! I’m not even trying to lose weight! This happened to my husband when he went vegan 6 years ago - pot belly gone. High cholesterol gone. High blood pressure gone. 😀

These are great ideas. I often make smoothies so I'd like to try the tahini-banana-date one first. Next would be the avocado and chick pea but the sprouts are a bit hard to find in my neighbourhood. I guess I could use alfalfa but not sure if it tastes the same.
