    If anyone's interested in diversifying what they have for breakfast, I'd recommend having a look at Indian breakfasts, there is such an abundance of vegan options and even if a dish isn't vegan, it can be easily modified by omitting clarified butter. Additionally, the cuisines across the country are vastly different which automatically provides for numerous breakfast options that are vegan but not necessarily oatmeal or smoothie!!

      High on my Own Supply. Sucks that you have no evidence for that bc it’s bullshit and not true.. cyanide is present in such small quantities don’t even get me started on the heterocyclic amines, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, heme iron, mammalian estrogen and other hormones, antibiotics, bacteria and endotoxins from immediate rotting of flesh, and UNLIKE seeds which are associated with longevity in every situation, eating animal products has actually been shown to increase risk of chronic diseases especially heart disease and cancer which the WHO already classified as a probable carcinogen

    • @MinttMeringue
      @MinttMeringue 5 лет назад +16

    • @MinttMeringue
      @MinttMeringue 5 лет назад +4

      @High on my Own Supply. they arent safe? Why are so many dietitians and doctors and such fine with them then? As for EPA and such, 1) technically some plants do have them. Algae does. You probably just dont eat it as it isnt part of the American or Western diet. It's also in some seeds, nuts, and even some root vegetables. 2) If you're talking to me specifically about my levels, you can just shut up lol. I probably eat more fish than you - way more than average. And marine sources are where you really find it, not meat. Add that with an egg some days and I know I have plenty of all 3 types. While we evolved eating different types of food, every area evolved differently - so plenty of places have mostly meat while others just had veggies/fruit/fish. So I think the way you worded your intro was terrible, with meat but no fish Haha

    • @MinttMeringue
      @MinttMeringue 5 лет назад +7

      @High on my Own Supply. Yeah, and chia seeds sold in stores are fine. And while flax needs to be grounded, meat and eggs have to be cooked soooo... (btw, name calling on the lady is unnecessary and just makes you seem stupid. Sorry slightly older people dont look like they're 23?) And no, seafood and meat are generally considered different things. I'm surprised you dont know that. Do you not speak to people usually? Not a diss, just a question. The majority of people will call them different things, and they're usually in 2 different sections.

    For a period of 2-3 years I followed a lowcarb meat heavy diet. Thought it was a smart thing to do. But my heart and other organs got poisoned by all the meat, eggs, butter and cheese and I got heart arrythmias and other bodily disfunctions. Most stupid thing I ever did in my life. Now on an almost vegan whole plants diet and I got soooo much better. Thank you for spreading the real truth. Sounds great but unfortunately for type 2 diabetics,which about 1/2 in the US are, that breakfast would skyrocket their blood sugar. I love oatmeal and bananas but these are no nos for diabetics due to extremely high carb content. If there was a feasible Vegan Keto diet I have not seen one yet, but the normal Keto diet works VERY well for the Type 2 diabetes that I have. And I have lost 40 pounds since going on it and control my blood sugars off all diabetes meds and going off blood pressure meds with this regimen as well. :)

    Dr. Esselstyn's daughter has a channel called "Jane Essylstyn". She cooks together with her mother and they show their favorite recipes, mostly from the reversal of heart disease cookbook.
    One episode is called something like "What a family eats for breakfast" or so, which features Dr. Esselstyn, his wife, his daughter +husband and his grandchild. It is a bit over the place and short. But it is nice to see anyway! And besides this chaotic episode it is a great channel altogether :)

    Love it! It was a revelation to me that I could eat oats with about 4x the fruit I would prior to going plant based (1/2 - 1 cup of berries, 1 whole banana), some molasses and some seeds or a little nut butter - no COTTAGE CHEESE (my old go-to) - and not sugar-crash, AND be satisfied as a person who really prefers savory meals... Hopefully hearing all these docs describe these breakfasts will make more people comfortable loading up on fruit and grain, or no-protein-powder, produce-rich smoothies! AND - glad there are some tofu scramble folks out there... We gotta show the variety and the deliciousness... I also do French toast with ground flax in plant milk (sometimes also a little VeganEgg, I admit), berries warmed with date syrup, and sometimes on the weekend some (not whole food!) Gimme Lean... It's easy, more satisfying and more delicious to eat only plants for breakfast!

    How come no one came up with my favorite breakfast? Steamed red potato, carrot, green beans, kale, broccoli, mushroom, onion and zucchini. Throw them into the same steamer in that sequence, a minute or two apart. When just crunchy tender, dump them out onto a cutting board to cool (don't rinse). Arrange a little pile of each in a bowl, put two spoonfuls of some canned beans in the center, and drizzle the whole thing with just a touch of olive oil and vinegar. Pour the cooking liquid in a cup as its an excellent vegetable broth (or tea). Refrigerate the extras for the evening meal. I know this sounds like a big deal but it doesn't take any longer to cook than oatmeal. (However I do seek the comfort of oatmeal & berries once and a while, especially in the winter.) But it seems that this doesn't have the sugar load that some of their recommendations did with 4 or 5 kinds of fruit.

They'd serve breakfast on the weekend and one lunch per day, as well as cake and coffee. Sadly, they closed a few years back, because the owner had a kid and couldn't keep up with business and raise a kid. I hope she'll find the time to do it again eventually.
    Right now, my favorite breakfast is a bowl with 1 apple, 1 banana, handful of nuts (hazelnut, walnut, cashew, Brazil nut, oat, sugar free organic cornflakes and sometimes raisins, all drowned in oat milk. :) Keeps me going through 8 hours of teaching.

      @The V word My story: I went vegan to save my life. I was literally dying and doctors had failed for 10 years. Vegan diet was miraculous for my health! But after 2 years vegan, I began to crave eggs like mad! Fought it for one whole year! Ate eggs with runny yoke & felt healed at the table. Felt like I had failed the vegan lifestyle & was attacked by vegans for it. Felt unwelcome so left the culture. Tried meat 3 times over 6 months and became flu-like sick after each.
      Jump ahead 7 months later... I'm practicing Konmari during spring cleaning. It's great. My counselor recommended I Konmari my food... Genius!
      Guess what?! Abandoned by the vegan culture, failed at the perfect diet and still - plants "spark joy" in me. So while many aspects of veganism may seem cult-like, as does any passionate & tight community, I can assure you, my choice to be vegan is because it is the most healthy thing I can do for my body. I'm proud that my choices don't harm others and it is purely because I choose, of my own free will, to do what sparks joy in me that I am vegan. I do not, have not & never will unite with mean vegan bullies because they spark joy in no one. I am not part of a cult.
      My counselor is not vegan but totally supports the positive affects of a vegan lifestyle she sees in me. My doctor went vegan after seeing my health results, and now teaches the plant based medicine program I used to teach. We do not force ir bully anyone into veganism. We show the science data of food & health and allow people to make their own choices. We don't even use the word "vegan."
      A few thousand people in our community are alive now due that class & to living a vegan or close-to a vegan lifestyle.
      But thanks for your concern. Much appreciated. Perhaps, I may offer you the Konmari method to try in your own life. Honor thyself. Peace to you:)

    Breakfast for me is one or a combo of these things:
    -big bowl of multigrain porridge,
    -a blender full smoothie (48-64oz or 1.5-2 32oz mason jars ) many berries, seeds, nuts, bananas, sea moss and any fruit or green near the point of composting.
    -Pancakes.
    -A yeast free bread with green and avocado mash.

    I really enjoy oatmeal, but my favorite breakfast is a sweet potato or kabocha squash berry bowl with oat milk and a little bit if nuts and granola on top with cinnamon.

    Tofu scramble with kala namak (black salt) is great! Add some nutritional yeast for a cheesy scramble and really smells like 🥚

      videotapeses makes the tofu scramble taste like 🍳, since it smells like it. Don’t go overboard with this or you might have stomach issues ☺️

    What about doctors outside U.S. ?
    There is huge variety across porridges.
    Cream of wheat, cream of rice porridges,
    Millets, steel cut oats, buckwheat, corn porridge, in Central Asia and Eastern Europe these would be a huge morning feast. Semolina or cream of wheat is what the kids especcially remember in kindergardens made fresh each morning.
