First movie is art This - some generic slasher type plot with teens and "bonding" subplot where one of them is going to sacrifice himself for the other, having a dialogue about it while hanging on the edge or smth, been there done that. There is a hope since the guy who made this also made pretty decent films, but trailer doesn't give it a single praise - looks like something you'd see being advertised on disney channel as a midnight original show with mandatory "censored" sex scenes consisting of a lot of kisses and rubbing while clothed and then cut back to the boring hero in fantasy world plot.
Having alvarez, a seasoned horror director doing his own Alien film makes so much sense! I hope he gets to do more of them after this and we get a revival of the scifi horror genre again. I'm so bored of the generic sci-fi we see right now..
The color scheme is original for the franchise, the cinematography looks great and the new actors are talented, overall it looks like a fresh approach for an established IP which is not always necessary but has the potential to be good.

That's a WILD comparison. Aliens is leagues better than aliens 3 but in terms of action instead of horror I agree. Romulus ended up being a love letter of a few different alien movies with good horror and action

Me too. I hate how we just left off the Prequel Trilogy without a satisfying conclusion. I really liked what they did and how poetic it was, but nope. Apparently, those movies did not have any of the horror they wanted. We just have to hope the Hulu series taking place on Earth may give us some connections to the Prequels? But this movie still does look absolutely incredible, and I'm very excited.
