    Just got one of these exact rifles, ended up putting 250 rounds through it the first day. I absolutely love this rifle, it's just dumb fun. It's my first ever lever action, and I could not be happier with it. Henry definitely knows what they're doing.

    I have the rifle length version of this gun. Those sights are AWESOME. Two upgrades I've made to the rifle, is adding a leather wrap to the lever loop and adding a thumbscrew to the elevation adjustment on the peep sight. Both well worth it.
    This thing shoots straight as a die, cycles beautifully. Arguably one of the best triggers I've had the pleasure of experiencing.
    Skinner sights makes the thumbscrew, and you can pick up an appropriately sized wrap at brass stacker.

    Just got the carbine model in 22 mag. The rifle , being a Henry rimfire, is of course silky and buttery smooth. But what really absolutely blows me away is the wood. The stock on my small game is gorgeous ! I don’t know where Henry gets their wood but I’ll tell you this , it’s the most beautiful stock in my gun collection.

    Besides all the other wonderful things I can say about the Henry repeating lever action rifles, the action is like no other, it's "like butter", working that action is so smooth ...if you are a lever action guy and you are picking up a Henry for the first time, it's the first thing you will notice !

    I prefer the normal lever for its quick function and the Small Game Rifle was not available anywhere I could find. So I purchased the Frontier long barrel and got the sights direct from Skinner.

    I am so lucky to have an awesome family! My family bought and gifted me a Henry carbine in 357 3 years ago! Now, being a former SWAT sniper and competitive shooter, i expect accuracy…period! My Henry is exactly what i expected….1 hole at 25 yds! I am now asking “Santa” for a 22mag Henry……any suggestions? Amazing how a guy like me, military vet, SWAT, and yet my love for the lever is so strong.

    Even the regular sized H001 plain Jane original rifle is a carbine by definition. It’s tiny. Maybe an inch or two or three longer than a Daisy Red Rider. How much shorter do you want it? It’s already toy sized. Get the full size and keep your ammo capacity high. Right now mine’s fully loaded with 21 rounds of CCI shorts. Can’t beat that y’all.

      tiny Houses & Cabins: I am having an issue. I want to buy a Henry. I checked out numerous models at the store. The basic model seems to be the best overall size but the stock is about 1/2 inch too long. then checked out a youth model with the 13 inch LOP, it seemed to small. I know the evil Roy is the same size as the youth model. do you consider it small compared to the Golden boy?

    Thomas, I have been dealing with Henry since Mr. Imperator was the boss, RIP,not Anthony, his son. I can guarantee you that gun did not leave the factory in that condition. My estimation is in the carriers hands or worse yet the receiving ffl. However you can bet that company will make it right. I’ll bet the gun was mishandled by a disgruntled employee that is in the packing dept. just my guess or the carrier. Please give them at Henry a chance, you won’t regret it. They are top notch trying to make you number 1 satisfied.

    Having never hunted with a rifle like this, is the extra 4" of barrel really that much of a detriment on the 20" version. Maybe a better question is there really a noticable difference moving through heavy brush between the two barrel lengths? I've never hunted with one, but I've moved through some heavy brush and basically everything gets snagged or hung up. If my collars, sleeves and boot laces get snagged, isn't the gun going to as well, regardless of barrel length?

    • @panzerabwerkanone
      @panzerabwerkanone Год назад

      .22lr is a bit small caliber if you are hunting anything as big as a 5'3" 120lb female. You will need a bigger caliber if you are hunting them.

  • @bobsradio6025

    The longer octagon barrel on the Frontier model looks great with the fancy grain stock that Henry offers as an option. I added a 3/4" tube scope with a set of 3/8" Buehler rings. Newer, cheaper rings just ruin it. A 1" diameter scope would also ruin the looks of it.

      I have the carbine and the biggest accuracy difference is just going to be the sight radius. Longer barrel = longer sight radius. Mine is extremely accurate however.

      @@jarrettm3728 the acog is designed for quick engagements at targets within the entire capable range of standard military ball 5.56 out of an M4. You are right when you say 4x is not a lot of magnification but if you plan to use the acog as it was intended- on a scaled down .22lr platform, of course- then 4x will be pretty slow in engaging your targets, as the acog was designed to compromise speed for the effectiveness of engaging targets between 25-800 yards. The 22lr has a USABLE range of about 100 yards, so an optic optimized for engagements within even 200 yards, rather than 800yrds, would be much faster overall. The military would define that range to be within cbq territory and that's where the 1x red dot shines.
      If you want 4x then absolutely go for it- it's your choice but it's not going to be as quick as something with less magnification.
