I'm so old I got to shoot at a few of those carnival shooting galleries...lol! It must have been on the tail end as I'm 61 yrs old. They would have steel tubes loaded up ready to go. Pay your ticket and they would poor them in. Gallery shorts for sure. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I'm going to dig out my dad's Remington model 12 pump 22. He got on his 9th birthday and take a few shots.....
I am 10 years younger but I remember going to the N.C. State Fair in 1978 or 1979 and they had a "Shooting Gallery" there with the pump action .22 shorts and the pre-filled tubes just as you pointed out. They also had a "Turkey Shoot" nearby as well. I will never forget my uncle and my dad talking about how the Carnis that ran those would mess with the sights or bend the barrels a bit so the gallery guns and the shotguns would be incapable of shooting straight! This was also the last or one of the last years of the "Hoochie Coochie" show and my brother and I still laugh about our wisecracking uncle joking about the sign they had on the tent: "Misty Blue Strips for You!" It was a very different time for sure.
I’m 35 and I remember them having BB guns with air hoses attached that loaded with tubes, I don’t even think those exist anymore sadly... I loved the full auto shoot the star out ones.
I have this pump gun also and the reason I bought it is because of remembering the time with my cousin and I at the carnival shooting galleries, the two of us could really shoot back in the day and we could probably clean out the prizes the galleries had, I'm now 75 and still love shooting at my local gun club. I also have the Henry lever gun and a Golden Boy. Love Henry products. Enjoyed you video.
I learned to shoot from my mom, on her mom's Winchester Gallery Gun. I still own that rifle, and bought one of the Henry guns as well.
I’m 50 and did the Tommy Gun BB gun cutout star targets. In fact I worked at the carnival and got to screw around with the the rough guys who worked it for two different visits. Cash and hip flasks plus everyone had a buck knife or a Bowie.
Great gun, I’ve been shooting my dad’s Winchester 22 WRF, since the 1957. When Henry came out with this.22 I bought my 10 year old granddaughter one, and me a .22 mag. We love them!🤠🇺🇸
Man that's awesome!
Buff, you better let her keep that slide-action or just about anything she wants...happy wife happy life
Plus her shootin was spectacular !!
As I always do, I got infatuated with pump 22's and was able to get a Remington 12, Savage 29, 2) Nobel 33 and the Rossi 62 Octagon. I should have gotten a Henry as well, but I knew that they'd be there when I was ready
THANK YOU! Lisa read all the comments earlier today and you guys really boosted her confidence. She says she will help my in future projects when needed and I owe that to you guys. Y'all rock. This is my (or hers...lol) first .22 pump and I understand why you like them!
You are the best firearms reviewer on youtube !!! I enjoy your no nonsense straight forward approach... Ordered that Henry pump after watching your review and excellent shooting skills....Keep up the good work Brother in arms !!!
We have been changing the bulk our shooting away from our center fires to 22lr. Ammo cost was starting factor but have now become the part we enjoy the most. Can shoot a lot and everyone-young to old can get involved. Love your reviews and you have influenced past purchases- maybe this one! Lots of really quality 22 guns out there to chose from.
I've actually been doing the same. Centerfire is so expensive now. I still shoot centerfire but not nearly as much as I did 2 or 3 years ago.
Sweet setup, Buffalo. Always good to see the ladies shooting, and doing it well!!!
Yup. 😊 that’s her gun . She’s good with it too . That’s how she knew it was hers .
I grew up with a Winchester Model 1906 chambered in 22 short. Once you own a pump nothing else will do. Best action for a 22 ever made.
I have a Winchester model 61 pump (1947)24 inch barrel--quarter size group at 100 yards.🙂
Mrs. Buffalo, you belong on camera. Your absolutely lovely. And one heck of a shot. Ole buff sure is a lucky guy. God bless folks. 🙏👍👍😁
Thank you. She read through these comments and you guys made her day. I don't think she'll be as hesitant to help me out next time I need her. You guys are awesome.
Really glad to see you doing a review on this. One in 22 mag. is on my "gotta have" list.
I'm gonna have to have one in 22 mag now.... especially since Lisa took this one...
I had an old Winchester model 90 back in the 70s. It was in great condition. I was young, doing a lot of trading and I let it get away. Dang me. Now you got me shopping for one of those Henry .22. Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome. This is our first pump .22
Thanks very much for an outstanding video presentation. Much appreciated. Short of an accuracy grouping, you cover every aspect of this outstanding pump action rifle. Please keep up the great work.
Saying that it's ironic that a photographer doesn't like being on camera is kind of like saying it's ironic that a baker doesn't like being in the oven.
I own the same rifle. And yes, it's one fine example of Henry quality. Enjoyed the presentation. Well done.
Awesome! And thank you for the comment!
I own this same rifle and it has an issue with light primer strikes. I replaced the firing pin but it still doesn’t work well. It hasn’t been used much because of this issue so I don’t think it’s a weak spring.
@@jessepitt Henry has supurb customer service. I strongly urge you to contact them.
@@jessepitt you ever get it going? I am thinking I need this in my life but dontwant the issues
I recommend a Henry lever action if u don’t have one ur missing out super fun and reliable I love mine 👍🏻
I have my grandpa’s Winchester 61. Absolutely love that thing. Still accurate 60 years later.
That's great!
Great video, as always. My lovely wife gave me one of these rifles as a gift a few years ago and it quickly became one of my favorites.
Sounds like you married a WINNER too! Thanks for watching our video!
Excellent video, very well done. Thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for the honest reviews and keep them coming please.
Will do! And thanks for watching!
Always a pleasure to watch your high quality posts, expertly presented with safety forward. Your manner and personality make for a very relaxing, enjoyable and informative watch and although you are spot on technically, you make it very easy to understand, nice to see your good lady taking part as well demonstrating great shooting skills too.Keep up the posts and let me know if you ever wish to visit England, you would both be welcome guests.
I've got an old 62a Winchester 22 pump and it is just a pleasure to shoot. 22lr is just a fun round to plink with. That Henry look like a great offering. I love the old school look of it too.
That's awesome!
Appreciate all you do Buffalo!
Outstanding review! I really enjoyed seeing your wife on the range! Love my H003T! Blessings!
Thanks so much for the comment! We appreciate it!
The pump 22 is a fun gun, forty years ago I almost inherited my grandfathers but a family member swooped in and took all the firearms for himself. I shoot that 22 a lot when i was a teen.
It is fun for sure. Sorry to hear that you didn't get your grandfather's rifle. Sounds like you had some good memories with it.
Thank you for this video! I’m now sold! I’m getting one. I shoot a lot of .22 and this pump looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.
Always love watching your videos because you give details to help us like short stroking the pumping action. That little loader might come in handy for me because I have a Norinco copy of a Browning 22A which loads thru the butt stock. If Ms Lisa has taken that one over that gives you a reason to by the 22wmr model. Really appreciate your tips.
Thanks for this comment Bill, glad you enjoy the videos! You're right... now I have an excuse to get that magnum!!
Awsom pump rifle, I have got to have one or maybe two one for me the other one for my grandson, thanks for sharing!!
I have owned this Henry pump model for approximately 3 years now. It is a wonderful, well built rifle. Took me a bit a time to acclimate to the buckhorn sights however. Excellent presentation BTW!
Great review! My kids love our Henry lever action .22 so I know between the one you’re showing today and the new SIG .22 pistol we’ll have a tough decision. Enjoying your content.
I heard about the new Sig. I gotta get me one of them eventually. Looks like they learned a lesson from the mosquito and done it right this time!
Best review of this gun that I've seen, by far.
I got a Henry 22 lever rifle and I absolutely love it. It’s a joy to take my son out with it. A few weeks ago he went through 250 rounds by himself
That's awesome! And a great gun to shoot with your son, that'll be some good memories for sure!
Hey Buffalo totally loved the video, just happens I got the 22magnum version, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm itching to really bad lol 22 is what I grew up on. I love your channel and the way you present guns and hardware, I want to get some of those peep sights like you got I'm 64 about to turn 65 in May so I understand the vision issues lol. Keep up the great work and see you on the next one.
Just got my Henry 22Mag pump. Have not fired it yet. Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for the honest vidio's.
Great job Buffalo Henry does a great job with there guns Love shooting shorts in mine Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks!
I also have that Henry Pump gun and you are correct about the action being a little stiff. I have to get used to it every time I get it out for a little plinking. But a quality product that I also recommend to my friends. And another Great Video my friend, thank You
Local shop had a few on the rack and I didn't get a chance to pick one up. Now, they're a little harder to find. It's ok, I'm sure they'll be back. Your video convinced me to get one eventually. You're my favorite channel, brother, keep up the good work!
You will love the H003 22 mag pump.
Nice to see you both out there! Mr. and Mrs. Buffalo.........
Thanks!
Shot one of these many years ago at a Coney Island shooting gallery. The front was broken off but I still knocked over the can pile. I amazed myself. Wanted one after but I then joined the service. Now that I can find one, I will!
That's a nice little rifle. The best feature, like you said, is everybody in the family would enjoy shooting it together.
YES! That is key! Thank you.
Great video, thorough demonstration, love that rifle. Same reason here, taking 22 short, Long and LR is nice indeed! Thx
Thanks Buffalo, another great review on a quality built rife. I own a couple of Henry's and they are well worth what I paid. For me if it came down to buying a henry or a cheaper option I would wait and save the extra money and buy the henry.
Always good to see you in the comments, we appreciate it!
Thanks for another great video. I bought one a few months back and I love it!
Awesome!
Great video Buffalo. I'm with you on those buckhorn sights. Have skinner or peep sights on all my rifles. Except my Uberti 1873 in 357 mag. That one has a tang sight. Can't beat a Henry rifle like you said levers like butter soooo smooth. That gallery gun sure brings back memories. Your wife is a good shot that's awesome y'all must have a lot of fun shooting together on your range.
Thanks for the fantastic comment. We really appreciate it and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video as always Buffalo! Nice rifle, I want one! Got the lever action. Mrs. Buffalo should come on more often, she's a heckuva shot!
Great video Buffalo. I really like those Henry pump action rifles. I have almost bought one a couple of times. I may get one yet. I understand why your wife likes it so much. She is a great shot. I have an original Henry H001 that I bought quite a while ago, love it.
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video! Lisa read through the comments here and you guys welcoming her really opened her mind to helping me on some future projects so thank you for that.
That’s an awesome rifle, may be my next, great video Buffalo!
Thanks for the review like the OG T-shirt and I really like that Henry pump .22 I need to get one.
Thanks! I love me some Danger Show!
Nice shooting Buffalo. My personal opinion is the most fun 22 rifles are in the pump configuration. There is just something about pump action that is enjoyable to operate.
You might be on to something because it sure is a lot of fun!
Y'all seem real cool!! 😎 Thanks
Thanks for sharing! Looks like a great quality little rifle
Thanks for the comment!
I am big on Henry rifles.. They are assembled very nicely.
Buffalo. Always a good video. Plus, great shooting. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Thanks so much man. I always appreciate ya stopping by!
Great review! I bought the Henry H001 carbine because of your past review. Keep up the good work. 😎🤙
The only lever action I ever owned was the Marlin 39 Century LTD .22 carbine. Then I started watching YT vids of Henry products. Now I own several Henrys, including two .22s, .22 smooth barrel, .357 mag, .44 mag & .410. The fit, finish, quality, functioning & reliability is impeccable.
Great video. Thank you.
Really informative video. Good job.
Enjoyed the video as always. Nice OG shirt too
Thanks! I love me some Danger Show!
Got my Henry X.45 Colt a month ago. I found a store that has that same .22 pump. Think I'm going after it. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the evaluation.
Awesome content ! I too have shot gallery guns at carnivals, had to shoot a red star out of center with a bb gun too ! Good times. I'll have to scrimp to get a Rossi or 10/22. Thanks for your efforts.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for leaving the comment. I haven't shot the Rossi but it looks nice (the wood stock one).
Great video. As usual. Wish I could shoot that well. Really like your honesty..
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed the video!
Love the pump action 22S I called them Gallery guns, a set of peep sights go a long ways. Specially for accuracy
Agreed!
That is an awesome gun.
Always a pleasure…I’ve went down the .308 ar-10 rabbit hole and done alotta loadin and shootin lately
Oh wow, AWESOME! That's a fun rabbit hole.
Dude!!!! That's awesome!! 22 short?!! My kids would LOVE THIS!!! IMMA GET ONE...
It's a heck of a lot of fun!
Good review! Thank you and take care!
Thank you!
Please keep doing what you do
I've got the Rossi version of that (because I'm poor) lol
They are so much fun and you can run anything through them. Love your videos!
Thank you !!!
I appreciate you showing all products. No hate here. Thanks 👍🇺🇸
Thank you!
That pump sounds awesome
Great job on the review. Good rifle...always enjoy your videos
Thanks so much!
Thanks Buffalo! Nice little rifle :)
Thank you Ken!
Those guns look like they'd be a lot of fun. I remember wayyy back in the 1960's at camp we used to shoot pump action .22's and it was a lot of fun. They're perfect for plinking tin cans.
I agree, ideal plinking gun!
Thanks Buffalo!!! Diggin the OG danger show shirt!!!
Love me some Danger Show! Thanks for watching!
I have a Marlin Model 57-M "Levermatic" (Made - November 1965) and holds 17 rounds of 22 WMR. When I inherited it I knew nothing about the "Levermatic" design. I thought something was wrong with the rifle because the lever throw is only about 1½ inches. After some research on the model and a trip to the range, I have found it to be very fun rifle to shoot. It is very accurate and that action is so smooth and precise that I can work lever without moving the rifle or taking my off the target!
I bought one new in 1967, took my 1st coyote with it
That's an awesome rifle!
Great video, love 22's. Glad the whole family enjoys shooting, sorry you lost your rifle :-))
Thanks! We have had a lot of fun with this so far and I expect many years of fun out of it. I appreciate the comment.
Now that looks like a fun little plinker!
It sure is a hoot to shoot!
Great job Miss Lisa!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
She read the comments and she appreciates them. Thank you all for being nice to her!
Just got one and love it. Can shoot the less expensive bulk 22lr with is great. Beautiful rifle.
Very nice rifle I have had one of those on my list for a while. Great video
Thanks! It's always good to see you in the comments. I appreciate your videos.
Cool review. Adding to the guns on the wish list.
Me too. But my Henry wish list has suffered horribly...
An excellent review of the Henry pump 22. Eric
Thanks! I appreciate the comment Eric!
I almost bought one of those a few weeks back. I opted instead for a H&K MP5 .22lr. I still want one of these though :)
This video has three features that I found really enjoyable, Buff. 1. The US made Henry Gallery rifle. 2. Getting to see the rifle's new owner (your lovely wife). 3. Your OG's Danger Show garments.
Thanks for the great comment. I really appreciate it. I agree with you on all 3 counts!
Lisa
I appreciate the content. ❤
She squirrel hunts too!
Awesome memories walking through the woods together chasing bushy tails.
Hats off to your sweet heart.
I own several Henry rifles and really like them. I had this pump back in 2012, and sold it because it seemed no matter what I did the iron sights were off. You all seemed to be doing fine with it. It always perplexed me because we have a lot of Henry's and they all shoot great.
Love these rifles. I had a Winchester 61 that was an absolutely amazing little rifle, but alas I just enjoy the lever guns more. Henry build a hell of a fine rifle for the money. Even with today's crazy prices, Henry is a good value.
I agree with your comment~ thank you.
Looks like a heckova lotta fun !
Thanks! It's a hoot!
My grandpa had a pump action .22 that was his go-to small game rifle. The Henry appears to be really accurate - would love one with some Skinner peep sights!
I am putting the Skinners on this weekend. I'll post an update once I get them on and dialed in! Sounds like your grandpa had good taste! Thanks for watching.
@@buffalosoutdoors He used what he had. Before he fought in the Pacific in WW 2, he favored practicality having grown up in the depression. Carried the shotgun for quick running shots on game and the 22 on his back for rabbits and squirrels who weren’t spooked. Money was that tight.
I like them sights !
Another great video 👍
Thank you!
Lisa's one heck of a shot ! 👍
I much prefer the lever action to the pump. Years ago I had a Rossi gallery gun, now I only have a few 10/22s and a Mossberg bolt action. Thank you for giving us a good look at this model, and thank your wife for letting us see her gun. 😉
Thanks! I do love my lever guns as well. I had been wanting to try a pump 22 for a long time and this is my first one. Always good to see ya in the comments.
@@buffalosoutdoors I ordered two! One LR, and One Mag!
I always enjoy your videos. Thank you for making a video on the Henry pump 22LR. It might be interesting to compare the Henry pump to the Henry small game rifle, as both have 20" barrels, but different actions. Just a thought.
That's a good idea. I actually don't do enough comparison videos. I need to do more of them. Thank you.
Looks like a REAL fun gun! Great video. 👍🏻👍🏻👴🏻🇺🇸
Thank you!
That’s a beautiful little rifle!!! The only thing that I’d change are the sights…a hood over the front to protect it and a peep.
I had a 16" bbl Rossi pump about 30yrs ago was a fine carbine. But sold yrs ago something I regret. Have ordered one of these to make up for that mistake. I too went with the LR version for ease of plinking with quiets and standard velocity mostly.
She’s a REALLY good shot!
Grace and Peace 😊
Thanks!
