    I’ve hunted my entire life, and to this day, nothing beats sitting out with my Henry .410 squirrel hunting. It’s just the best. Thanks and God bless.

    My family is from Cody, NE. Pretty desolate area and no squirrels but prairie dogs are all over the place. My Henry H001 and H004 are prime candidates for dispatching. Love the iron sights for small game. Great video. God bless Henry Repeating Arms!

    Hey there buddy how are ya? I’m thinking fine, cuzz you’re out in the squirrel woods!
    As a boy I would hunt in a walnut orchard near my house. We couldn’t use 22lr cuzz a development was being build on the other side of the orchard across the creek. I had a nice Crossman 140 .22 cal. There where a million squirrels in that orchard you can see the walnut shell litter falling from the trees. I would hunt after school oh man that was fun times. Grandma made squirrel gravy over biscuits. Sometimes we’d have squirrel stew. Gosh that was a good time of life.
    Squirrel hunting is my favorite kinda hunting!!
    Thanks for sharing God bless you and yours.

    I've never thought of using a call to bring in a squirrel. I usually just walk and stalk then shoot it when I see it. simple and relaxing hunt.

    My dad always told me “hit them in the head or don’t shoot them “.

    • @johndilday1846
      @johndilday1846 Год назад +3

      So did my dad. My dad told me that his grandmother who raised him always wanted him to shoot them through the neck as she liked to fry the squirrel’s brains (he made a face at this) and said that was because she was raised to eat them, but he didn’t care for them and didn’t hold me to that standard. Thank goodness. I was never as good a shot with a rifle as my dad. I was better with a handgun, but my dad was scary accurate with a rifle due to his 20/10 vision.

    I absolutely love my Henry .22 lever actions. I had an H001 that I got around the mid 90's, now I have the H001M.
    Besides being my main small game rifles, they are fun plinkers.
    The magnum is a Henry I bought used, it was in need of some TLC and even though I did not buy that gun new, Henry's customer service has been absolutely top shelf in answering questions I had, and when I ordered parts, very fast service. I work at the LGS and frequently tell customers that Henry's customer service should be the model for other companies. Thanks Henry for being the great company you are.

    Pretty open area. I’d recommend thicker cover since leaves have fallen and less cover to conceal in. Late in the season I switch from my Anschutz 1710 D KL in 22LR to my Cooper 57M Jackson squirrel rifle in 22mag. Haven’t found any sporter rifles more accurate or better quality.

    I bought my Henry Big Boy Classic 357 Mag brand new a few months ago after hearing the ad on Sean Hannity's show got me intrigued. After watching a few videos later that night Henry had me hooked and a month or so later I was a proud and happy Henry owner. I think I want a Henry Long Ranger 556 next. I just got another Henry shirt and have fallen in love with the company. I had a minor issue when the 357 BBC rifle, I bought online when it arrived, and Dina from Henry's world class customer service made everything far more than good with me. 🙂

    If I was to ask you Cody, what does squirrel taste like? You would probably tell me a taste like chicken

    • @johndilday1846
      @johndilday1846 Год назад

      Squirrel has a nice flavor, not as gamy as rabbit, but grown squirrels are very tough unless you pressure cook them or soak them in salt water before frying them up. Young squirrels taste the best, but grown ones are like chewing on hard rubber unless properly prepared. I like the flavor of squirrels much better than rabbit. Of course, tastes vary, but eating nuts generally gives squirrels a good taste/flavor.
