    I found a brand new Henry rifle in August or September of 2020. Bought it immediately. It is the color case hardened Henry in .357 magnum/.38 special. I jumped the gun a little bit. It is not the side gate loading rifle, but I will never get rid of it. My next Henry rifle will be the side gate in .357 magnum/.38 special. If I live long enough, I will be a Henry rifle collector. • @wolfmanrebel874
      @wolfmanrebel874 3 года назад

      Partner we have very similar story's , my first Henry was the BigBoySteel 20" 357 much like yours back when they didn't have loading gates, at the time I was torn between that and other brands in 357 when I walked into a shop that had a trade in for $600 it looked brand new aside from some markings where the previous owner had installed either a Skinner or scope mount on the top just a hardly noticeable scuffing on the top around the 3 screws otherwise perfect and I absolutely love that little rifle it's still my primary go-to farm tool and is the tightest grouping PC levergun of all I have ever had, believe it or not I can stack holes in a paper plate offhand within 40-50 yards with my "custom" ammo which is why it's my favorite for local work it's just simply on point ,after I purchased it I emailed Henry's customer service to ask info about the warranty it being used and all and I ended up having a conversation with a lady within 30 hours of sending the email and they made me feel like they really really cared about my business and stood behind their products like no other, now before I got into a never ending Henry craze-phase from this single used purchase and a pleasant conversation with an employee I was and still am a HUGE CZ fan and have stocked freezers many years with Marlin 336 and 1895 and as much as I appreciate and love the quality of my CZ's (that's a long list over a long time period) it's really the moral core of Henry in today's time that puts them at the absolute top of my list anytime I'm interested in something new now I check them first, since the BBS 357 that's still my primary farm tool especially now that you have to pretty much make what you put in it 357/38 uses the least raw material I have added 243 long ranger ,Axe for my lady,38-55 sideloader that's just used for goofing around a .22 and 22mag for the young'ns and I aim to aquire a X model in 44 then semi retiring the 1895 for a new sideloader 45&70 Henry is a brand that has earned my respect and I am proud to support. The only con to a Henry is cowboy action or competition shooting it's much better to have an open top action outside of competition they are simply the best especially in pistol caliber.

      I would say it is possible since Big Horn Armory makes a 454 version although you can't get their guns in places like California and they are very expensive. If they made a 454 Henry especially in side gate you could pair it with a Taurus 454 or a Ruger Alaskan 454. The original henry model type 45 colt like this one, or one of the modern henry models?

    • @Diemerstein
      @Diemerstein 2 года назад +2

      I own all sorts of guns, rifles, shotguns, pistols.
      The one I didn't own was a lever action rifle.
      I had several choices when I was about to complete my collection.
      The Henry Big Boy Classic was the most gorgeous one out of all of them, they had it in .357, .44 magnum and 45 colt.
      Naturally I was leaning towards the .44 magnum like so many do due to it's power.
      The sales person recommended the 45 colt and here is why.
      It's more versatile, you can shoot cowboy loads all day long and barely feel it, you can shoot standard loads for more power for such things as hunting deer.
      Even though it looks like a classic cowboy gun, it's not, it will handle any pressure rounds you can fit up to 300 grains.
      This Henry 45 colt will fire without a problem any +p ammo.
      Example Buffalo Bore Deer Grenades are 260 grain bullets with a muzzle velocity of 1900 fps delivering 2100 foot pounds of energy, compare that to a 30-30 and you'll see this load is more powerful than a 30-30 at 100 yards.
      That's more juice than you need to even kill a Grizzly.
      What ever you decide, the 44 magnum is not a bad choice either.

Also if you stumble and fall with a full magazine tube of bullets, there is still a chance that a chain fire could occur, if the rifle is slammed against the ground hard enough.
