Henry Small Game Rifle Review
The half cock is the safety. A simple design that has worked since the 1870's no need to lawyer it up with additional safety gadgets. I agree on the fit and finish, should be nice and snug.
The safety on the firearm is just fine.

You're absolutely right. I was just pointing out that the rifle does not have a physical safety button or lever and that is something a prospective buyer should be aware of before purchasing one.
I just received the carbine LR version of this same rifle. Mine also has the gaps at the tang and also between the forend and the receiver. I also really like the rifle, it is accurate and my 58 year old eyes love the skinner sights. Great little gun!
Shouldn't be a gap at all I never seen any Henry that way, send it in they will take care of it Henry has the best costumer service.

No cheap spray painted receiver cover ? Mine has, plus the poorly fitted wood.
My Henry Frontier doesn't have that gap where the stock meets the receiver. Might just be yours. They sure are sweet shooters!
Yeah, mine is a sweet shooter as well. I hope you're right and maybe I just got a bad one, because the gap in the stock is really the only issue I have with it.
