A friend of mine just linked me to this video after having used them on the tabletop with him today for the first time ever. I went mad and bought around 50-60 of these on eBay a couple months back and have been looking for a solid guide on how to paint these glorious moustached fellows. Thank you very much for the excellent tutorial!
VOSTROYANS!!! Let’s get it!!! Edit: finished the video. Great choice of model that’s a really nice pose for them. Great painting as always and really nice to see the Firstborn get some love!
9:02 These guys are the one guard army I'd love to collect. I sadly missed out on them the last time they came around on Made-to-order, so hopefully, the next time, I'll be able to grab a few models.
Very cool. These guys definitely have an awesome look. They're so ornate. Never got into guard myself but if I did i think it'd be Krieg or Valhallans. Love them both.
This is such an amazing video Andy. My local group is so awesome, they've arranged to purchase the Norn Emissary for me, to pain. I'm planning on Pastel Seafoam for the chitin and warlock 'purple' for the flesh. A light coat of red tone wash and a dry brush of mummy robes gets the flesh to a nice pink, while still giving it that 'scary' look she always commented on. Plasmatic bolt for the under ridges (where you've been using gorgrunta fur), and thinking Zephyr pink (a metallic) for the striations. I mostly have AP's stuff
Your group seam like a great much of people and it’s a very nice thing there doing for you. Your colour scheme seams like a perfect tribute pal. Hope your doing ok.
For lazgun barrels as well as scopes and augmetic lenses I really like to do a base-coat of the old spacewolves grey and then just touch it with a drop of one of the brighter shades in a primary or secondary color, not sure about using contrast for this it might take some dilution.
Superb. I have a couple of squads of these as once you start collecting Guard, it's impossible to not collect these lovely metal minis. Looking forward to seeing you do some Valhallans, Mordians and even some Catachans if you have any!
I have only seen the British Imperial Guard with the red coats and black top hats, I think that would be cool to see how they're painted, I don't remember the name of the army
I was wondering what you used for the basing of these miniatures? Both the paints and what I would assume was some type of texture paint! Thanks in advance!
"quite detailed". Oh yeah. One of the riflemen got Imperial Aquila on the bottom of his boot. Great guide. Might use some of it, though I do prefer Agrax wash and brown hats.
Was my comment just deleted? thats the second time, i made a comment about converting a commissar on your commissar video and that for what ever reason was deleted to, why? i dont feel my comments have been rude or harmful :/
Hmmm, I have asked friends and they can't see my comments, looking into it, the you tube algorithm itself seems to delete or hide comments and can be oked by the channel. But like all bots, it's got no chill, pretty sure I used the word gun in the commissar video comment that got it flagged, and iv used it just now, so this comment could be flagged 😅, and in my comment for this video I did have a link to pictures of the Mordians I made, so I'm sure that got flagged. RUclips is hard work, and I don't even create content for people 😕
Really loving the classic guard vids, hoping to see more on the Catachan / Steel Legion (as I have a small mountain of each that needs painting)
I do need to get back and do more of these.

Cheers pal. I’m glad you liked the video and I hope your models get punted and look awesome.
I have so many Vostroyans from over the years, and dear God, I love them.
They’re so epic, such cool design and lore
Love these guys total nostalgia from when I first got into warhammer, still have the white dwarf 318 fall of Medusa V.
Nice. I still have that little booklet for the campaign myself.
The vostroyans were cool never collected them myself as I had a large guard army at the time…..Valhalla’s next please or praetorians
Great options.
Looks like a fun army to paint up. Well done!!!
Cheers pal.

Ye you will need a nice pile of cash to buy an army but I think there worth it.
@@MediocreHobbies it'll be a PayPal pay-in-3 job when it happens.
A Vostroyan painting log/dairy sounds like a real treat!
It would for sure be cool to do. I love sharing the guard.

Both solid choices.
Valhallans get my vote Andy - My Stationforge Frostguard squad needs a paint scheme asap👍🏻
Great choice and maybe I could even do the frost guard.
Nice one Andy! Nice seeing these oop minis 👍🏼
Cheers pal. There such fun models.

Always nice to see Vostroyans again, I remember when they came out years ago. Can we expect to see a norn emissary tutorial this Saturday, also?
Death leaper today, norn emissary next Saturday!
Vostroyan's would be my preferred Guard army. Nice simple and straightforward paint job.
Cheers pal. Ye there a great regiment.
Looks great Andy!
Cheers pal.

Great idea.
He is one fancy guard 😂 love the videos.
Hahah yes he is.
I love mine!
You should.

They will 100% be on the channel soon pal. And ye some culinary start guard your in trouble.
I'm excited about this series, I'm a fan of the Mordant Acid Dogs The Story of Col. Bane is sooo cool I can't wait to see you paint them up too
Interesting choice. Not the usual one. Shall see what I can do.
Brilliant
Cheers as alway pal.
Thanks for this! Got 35 of these lads that need painting!
Aw sweet, you’ll get through them pretty quick!
Would love to see a tutorial on painting Gaunts Ghosts!! That is if you haven't done one already 😅
I have not done one yet but I do have them built and ready to go. So that’s a great idea.
Great video 👍
Thanks man

You might mean Praetorians? They have cream Pith helmets though!
@@MediocreHobbies that's the one's I meant, Thank you helping with their name

AK interactive dark earth I think.
You did write that voatroyans may be able to order? Where?
Nobody knows. They have been made to order at least twice already I bet they will come back around.

For the algorithm
As always thank you pal.

Both comments are there for me, not sure why you’re not seeing them, you didn’t say anything wrong don’t worry, might be just RUclips messing up!

PRAETORIAN!!!!
Great choice.
