    The nut that holds the final drive sprocket bearing on has clearly been hammered on several times before. It had a lot of chisel marks. So, I am guessing they have to repair the finals and other components every couple thousand hours due to their rustic assembly process. Although, if all it costs them are a few parts, seals and labor, which is likely cheap then this keeps the dozer working and makes sense. These are not the tools or procedures I would use to repair my dozer but I am looking for a component like this to last 5-10 thousand hours as labor here is very expensive. These procedures may well be appropriate for this application just not all applications.

    I mean I get it, you have to work with the tools you have, but I just don't see how this repair is going to last.

      it won't because they didn't press the sprocket hub back on, it will ruin the splines
