Every time I see videos like this it strikes me that concrete and rebar must be like gold in these country’s. They are all working in the dirt, not even the simplest of workbenches as long as the eye can see.
It's intentional. You can drop heavy parts and tools all day long on a hard packed dirt floor and it wont do anything to the parts but try that on a cement floor and your gonna damage something and it much easier on the feet than a cement floor. The wester world just has a hard on for covering everything in Concreate. The Asian Squatting also means that they can get close to their work on the ground so they don't have to have a lot of work benches.
Good job guys, I like when the boys are there learning. That transmission has many parts and certain direction for most. You guys have repaired many of these in the past. Good to see you keeping the parts clean. Nice work!
Got to respect these hard working people they always get it back together and never no waste good mechanics but I never see a torque wrench wonder how they do a preload on the bearings
It goes to show that torque wrenches are meant for maniacs to avoid bolt shear and plate warping during assembly. Also these guys discovered preloading bearings is a waste of time, nothing happens if its not done.
I wouldn't have believed it, If I wouldn't have seen it. How these ambitious young men, where cleanliness is next to impossible, rebuild a sophisticated CAT transmission with basic hand tools and the ever present big hammers. Very good!! Thanks for showing us how it's done.
You have the old bearings sat right there which are perfect for using to drive in the new ones, but instead you guys pound directly on the new bearings with a hammer. Suppose it keeps work coming into the shop...
if it was the only problem, lol. Why all thse pakistan indian videos are always exactly the same, these guys have no clue and do everything wrong, they also have no tools, how could a shop have no tools in any part of the world, its not about money because they are a business, they necessary charge the parts, also sine the country is very poor the good are also cheap, they could certainly afford the proper tools and work correctly. SO the only conclusion is that, in some part of the world, with certain mentality, that is just how things are done, and it suits them.
That's pretty impressive. If I were doing it I would be very concerned about having a few parts left over at the end. And who needs torque wrenches when one has a calibrated elbow... Also goes to show that a bit of dust and grains of sand are no problem at least for some transmissions. Looking at that one bearing, it seems someone forgot to maintain fluid levels. That can get expensive. I'm surprised that it looks like they didn't replace more bearings, such as those on the planetary gears and on the clutch center gear. Someone should show them the trick for using the old bearing to install a new one. It's a lot easier on the bearing.
The kid may no have videos games but who need them when you have real hero’s teaching a real job !!!! I wish all the teenagers have vision to be someone in life specially in country’s sub ……..his must be proud of him I would!!!!!!!!!🤫
Amazing best video.. awesome..! Thank you for sharing this best video.. success always greetings from traditional Indonesian gold seekers ❤️🇲🇨🌷🌼⚒️⛏️✋👍👍👍
I understand there is not a lot of money going around for an air conditioned shop. But some clean work area’s would really help the quality of the rebuilds.
These guys are amazing no book no sofisticiuf tools just there bare hands to take apart a heavy duty bulldozer part ! Amazing ask someone in U S A to do the job ! No lift No concrete floor dirt floor most people will laugh at you ! Not even a fork lift ! Just a chain hoist ! Amazing ! So far !
Hammering on bearings. clutch packs in the dirt. Bearings in the dirt. Sanding next to bearings. Bearings worn flat. Torching bearings. Not even a toothbrush available to clean the grooves. No micrometers or feeler gauges. At least they have some compressed air! If it doesn't fit, get a bigger hammer! Oh, the backaches!
Me puedes conseguir un vídeo de la transmisión de un cargador frontal Belaz 78221 él desmontaje de la transmisión y desarmado de todos sus componentes los felicito son muy buenos mecánicos
the comment of an expert in the field, obviously.🤣 also, engineering has nothing to do with a litteral cesspool "mechanic" shop, doing everything possible wrongly.
Anyone can disassemble a machine, clean the parts with a brush and put it back together. I’ve disassembled stuffs myself, that I don’t know how they work. Fixing the root problem is another story
Imagine if they had a legit shop with all the best tools to work with? They would probably have this job complete in half the time. Definitely, pros, look what they can accomplish with the limited resources.
There's 5 of them on 1 transmission job that 1 man in United States does by themselves. What really impressed me was lol, no 1 was missing a Tow in video! 👏🤘
So did we see why it was slow to engage? er no.. apart from the square roller bearing everything looked ok. Thats the beauty of the big old Cats, they can be repaired in the field with the most basic of tools, especially when you use a pair of circlip pliers as a crow bar to lift a clutch plate.... $64k question, did it run again when refitted and how well did it work..
And here we are with all the extra ratchets and sockets, we never touch, and they take all these transmissions and engines apart with hand wrenches and home made hammers. Just amazing 🤔🤔
Gears and axles have a limit to the load placed on them. If you have ever seen them load a truck or bus with people and things you can understand why they have a constant problem with gears bearings and axles.
When it came time to put it back together, they had no clue what bolt went where. So they didn't put the bolts in at all. That transmission never ran again.
Good work though, it seems to me that the shim's guy was not fast enough and missed two shims around the alignment pins at 35:52. I don't understand why they don't use grease on the bolts when assemble the drive. The young guy next to the cleaning tray was almost hit by the high pressure solvent spray in his eyes, nerve breaking to see.
I can't believe all they put on the roller bearing is what appears to be a thin oil and no grease. Might be the reason the bearings were flat on one side.
@@itsjustme1949 breaings flat on the side? ever heard of roller breaings lol? Anyway the problem here is that everything is done in the worst possible way, not the mountain dew kebab oil they used, because obviously all that is flooded in oil or transmission fluid once installed.
Jesus you would think they would at least us a bench instead of squatting and ruining knees. Crap doing a trans on a dirt floor, smh. You think they ever heard of brass for beating on steel?

I take that back, there was a workbench in there 😅
Concrete on the other hand, nope.
It's intentional. You can drop heavy parts and tools all day long on a hard packed dirt floor and it wont do anything to the parts but try that on a cement floor and your gonna damage something and it much easier on the feet than a cement floor. The wester world just has a hard on for covering everything in Concreate.

Working and living in the dirt must be a religion thing.
Is it possible that concrete and work benches could be taxable items?
You prefer to stand n work we prefer to sit. Is that a problem for your holier than thou attitude
glad to see everyone has on there safety sandals

These men amaze me sledge hammer and 2 wrenches
Respect my friends 🤛🇺🇸
I can't believe they can remember how all the parts go together. It's pretty amazing they can do this with such limited tooling.
i wonder who the hell taught them about machining and heavy equipment mechanics
This is sooooo impressive. This video just goes to show you what a really good team of men working together can accomplish. Thanks (from America :)) !
Son una maravilla estos maestros, me apasiona ver sus videos. Ellos simplemente trabajan, y ya, listo.
Good Jobs Rebuilding transmision wheel loader Caterpillar 966D, successfull always 👍🙏

no torgue wrench needed. its 2 grunts for the small bolts 3 for the medium bolts and four for the large bolts..
one of their cleaner rebuilds, still use that magic rag.🙂
I love the press to get the parts apart just three guys lift and slam it on the dirt floor !

CAT charges $50K for this repair. Three Hooba Doobas in sandals with a couple of wrenches, screwdrivers, pry bars and big hammers charge $43.69.
these dudes work for the original parts they pull off lol. resale them
Es admirable como desarman y arman una compleja pieza de ingeniería, pero poner engranes a punta de golpes?

Super nice..

Where can you buy those sandles
great job guys
Teamwork like a moe foe. 👍
I wonder how many times the same gear train has been rebuilt and how long between rebuilds.

a tonne of sand in the bearings always helps in these countries.

Someone needs to invent tables over there
Подшипник по ходил бы ещё) у нас тут всегда делают
I didn’t see a single new part go into that
Great job on the repair
Excellent.
Muito bom ótimo vídeo
Good job
ab 22:47 wird es wirklich interessant, solche Fachkräfte fehlen uns hier auch noch :-((

I too was hoping to see said dozer after repair.

it ran for a wekk, which is quite a performance for the country.
Parabéns 👏👏👏 Ótimo trabalho!!!!🇧🇷
Nice job guys. How long did it take?
It's like watching a horror movie.
I heard that MountainDew is too aggressive to clean parts from the transmission. :P
Apparently rebuilding dozer transmissions requires hammers... Lots of hammers...And Mountain Dew assembly lube...
All the sand coating the finely machined internal parts comes at no charge.
that is kebab grease inside, mixed with sand.
Those wrenches take a beating...literally.
How many hours did this work last?
I am from Iraq 🇮🇶..
35 minutes.
hey guys, my respect, you are good specialists but why do you always work on the floor, don't you have tables?

Ótimo trabalho em equipe.

Enjoyed watching this. I take it the bloke sat in the chair scratching his balls was the boss?!*
nice skills

Is this washed with kerosene?😳
THE SPARE PARTS CAN BE PUT BACK IN NEXT WEEK WHEN ALL THE UNTORQUED BOLTS FALL OUT AND IT COMES BACK IN FOR A NEW VIDEO .....LOL

The flattened edge bearings you speak of are one way clutches, a sprag to be specific

That thing is transmission of D155 kumatso, not a caterpillar.
No snap on used
Not to correct you ,but a 966 is a wheel loader, not a dozer
