I had the privilege of watching this guy destroy the league for 8 years as a Sixer. It's like the rest of the world discovered him after he left Philly, but we already knew he was a beast.
Greatest player ever without a ring. Give me Charles Barkley over Ewing, Stockton, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, A.I, Carter, T-mac, Melo, CP3....ANYBODY!!!!! CHARLES IN CHARGE!!!!!!
Charles you schooled the Warriors that night! Awesome performance! You could get your shot anywhere on the court that night! I wish you would of had one of these games in the NBA Finals. Still a great game! That would of been an awesome interview!
this might be the most epic ass whipping ever delivered in an nba game. charles is funny and unassuming nowadays but he was a fucking killer in his prime
@Jon Davis before we go any further I have to ask...do you have some personal vendetta against him? It sure sounds like it by the way you're talking about him. That would make your opinion biased. Now if you're speaking as a fan of the sport, I have to stand by my original comment. All I have to say is that his back had to be sore as hell from carrying that team to the finals.
I remember him as 6'4", 300lb center in college, strictly a posted player, but every once in a while he would take it coast to coast. Man did his game evolve.
Love the interview at the end, very interesting. You don't hear it nowadays, just here same old cliches, 'glad to get the win' 'we played hard', 'a team effort' etc etc
Charles Barkley back in the day was PURE BEAST. This performance reminds me of LeBron James when he's on a tear, but Barkley just moves slower and more deliberately, LeBron is so damn quick and strong.
that 1st quarter is the greatest 1st quarter played by any player in the history of the nba playoff amazing , really really underrated , no doubt top 18 /20 player of all time top 5 power forward
Appart from a total beast in the paint, Barkley was solid from midrange too. 56 points with 20 jump shots. Lebron needs 10 games to score that many long range shots.
What makes Sir Charles the greatest power forward in history is he did it all at 6'4" in a league where no power forward was under 6'10"! I love T Duncan cuz we from the same islands but he is 7'!
And they keep comparing Blake Griffin to this man? are they serious? Ill give Griffin the dunking part because he go over people while Barkley go chest to chest dunks. but that's mostly it. Barkley can do anything he wants.. Shooting mid range to long range. post up from left to right and shoot with either hands. And strength a 6'4 shouldn't have but he does. Yes Griffin can score 20 a game, but with a help of Chris Paul. Barkley dominated with or with out a help of a great point guard, and if he does have a point guard like CP3 Barkley would average 30 a night. and lets not even talk about rebounding, you guys know who will rule between the two of them. if you don't search it hahaha
by the way Barkley and Webber are wearing the same shoes.. haha Webber is a proud Barkley fan to wear his shoes and play with him thats just cool and respect.
Bon Bal charles never had the long range game, he could get them in sometimes, but his % in the long 2s and 3s were horrendous by today's standard given the volume.
gabe228 barkley averaged more 3s per game and has a higher percentage than griffin. lol i like blake, i really do, but barkley is better in nearly every single way.
The Best Powerforward Ever! And No He Did Not Just Face Jordan, He Faced Jordan AND SCOTTIE PIPPEN (THE BEST SF OF THE 90s), Horce Grant (All Star) and MR. PHIL JACKSON AS HEAD COACH OF THE BULLS. Pretty Difficult To Beat
Barkley is either the 2nd or 3rd best player of his generation after Jordan (depending on how you feel about Hakeem), he is the only player who faced Jordan in the finals and didn't back down (he averaged 27-14-6 in the finals that year), he just had the terrible luck of having to go against Jordan/Hakeem 3 straight years in a row, and those were the only great teams he was on, after that his prime was over
GOTTA...ABSOLUTELY GOTTA point out to the folks claiming Tim Duncan as the greatest power forward one simple thing. If Charles Barkley was 7'0 tall he would have utterly destroyed the league even more than he already did. And if Tim Duncan was 6'5 he would have NEVER EVEN MADE THE LEAGUE let alone DOMINATE like Chuck did.
When He Had a Decent Center he was Top 7 In Defensive Rating but That Was Onlye for the 1985-86 Season with Moses Malone, Who Left for the 86 Play-Offs to the Bullets. Duncan had Robinson and Malone had Eaton. Defense Sure Gets Easy Having Those To Monster Rim Anchors and Protectors. O Well, True Offensively He Was By Far the Best PF Ever!
Chuck really deserves a ring, despite what the rest of the world thinks. He had a great supporting cast with KJ, Thunder Dan and AC. They only lack a center who could post up and help Chuck but the Suns never had any good centers in the 90s.
Boristos Jaxon with Ceballos out for the finals..take pippen out the bulls they get sweept.. and that foul on johnson at the buzzer never called..facts
Jordan Never had a Winning% Season without Scottie and Grant EVER! Jordan was Blessed like No Other Superstar of the 90s by having the Best SF in the NBA in his Team, a Top Defensive PF in Grant AND the Best Modern Coach of All Time. Not to Mention Later on the Best Rebounder in and Man to Man Defender in the NBA Dennis Rodman. Jordan Had Great Teams 1988 Onwards and No He Did Not Make Others Better Because He Wasn´t a Multipositional Player like Pippen Was, Now He Made Ohters Better.
Grant became an All Star, BJ became an All Star and They Where 1 Bad Call Away From Reaching the Finals Again Lead by Scottie Pippen Who Easily Was a Top 5 Player in The Game That Season. Jordan Was Blessed by Having The BEST SF of the 90s and The Best Perimeter Defender Ever in PIPPEN. Not to Mention Grant, Kukoc, Harper, Rodman, Phil Jackson. Blessed!!!
Tim Duncan might have something to say about that. Too bad Barkley was the only man on the Suns roster who knew how to play basketball. :/ if only he had Steve Nash and another on his team. EASY championship.
my point is why u consider tim as pf and not center, for me his gamestyle is more similar to center.the same way why pur hakeem, robinson, ewing as centers and not pf?if a guard's gamestyle is more to create and pass and then score u call him a pg not a sg,so every position has some features and pf position the player should have a vamlance between inside game and outside, barkley, malone, hayes, mcale had these features and call them pf but tim did 't,his outside game is medium and 90% plays inside.
Wrong Kid. Most of Jordan´s Assists Came From Drawing Attention Through His Drives Early in his Career When He Was A Ball Hogg Not Later On What Happened? He Started To Win, Why? Finally Jordan Listend To Phil Jacks On Letting Pippen Own the Game Creating Through his Point-Forward Play. Thats When The Bulls Won, When Pippen Became The Point-Forward. Pippen and Grant Made Jordan a Champion. Jordan Left the 1993-94 Season Pippen was Top 4 in PER, Top 10 in DRT (rest all bigmen), All Star MVP etc
barkley didn't have a whack team. he had really good players with him. kevin johnson? dan majerle? ac green? those guys were good and all together were a great team
barkley never considerd sf man, early in his career drj play sf in 76ers,of course he had the quickness and outside touch to play sf,kobe and lebron were pg?in some plays or games maybe could play in other positions but none of them was pg.it's not only the otuside shoot man,it's general gamestyle of a palyer in offense-defense to,tim did n't play outside even as much as hakeem or ewing and u keep saying he was a pf.but even he was in my opinion is n't the best,u did n''t answer about hayes.
well who is getting ridiculous it's not u who decides!yes, griffin does n't have the outside shot but has other features of pf position as speed, quickness, dribble and griffin rare play post game and mainly begins his offensive moves from outside and does n't play 90% of his time in the paint.u keep saying only about shot when i already told u that is the general gamestyle man.of course u did n't answer me why tim is more pf than hakeem, robinson even ewing who are all centers.
Damn, I disagree with Charles himself that he think Draymond is a better shooter than him. I think if Charles played today, he'd be the better shooter.
To be accurate, Charles Berkley was 6'6 and Timmy is 6'11 and those two and one inches do make a small difference. But it's true Berkley dominated as PF while he was pretty short, but still gotta put Timmy as the best PF
actually daugherty was very good player(not as good tim cause was medium defender)but in his offensive game had the same gamestyle, moves, very good passer for a center and mainly,as tim, playing in the paint.robinson was great player to ran the court and dribble,he was faster, more athletic and better shooter than tim and also play more face and not back forwards,as u say.also barkley did n't only dribble and shoot but had amazing post game, especially for his height, that's why he had 55 fg%!
Jordan Created Pippen? Just Take a Look at MJ´s Play-Off Record Without Pippen, Grant and Phil Jackson (The Greatest Modern Coach). In 1993-94 Pippen Lead the Bulls in Everything, Just 2 Wins Lesser, Everyone Shot at a Higher FG% and Pippen´s Bulls Where a Bad Call Away from the Finals Again. Jordan Was a Great Individual Player But He Made No One Better But Himself.
tim's game has more similarities with ewing, daugherty or barkley, hayes, garnett and malone?if u say the 2n then it's obvious u are crazy.but even if i accept tim is pf u say is better cause he s better defensively than barkley and malone that's why is better overall?barkley and malone were much better in offense but were also good in defense(not like tim of course),there are also hayes who was better in offense and at least as good defender as tim, what about kg?except u say that because of titles
shaq and ewing could n't dribble like hakeem and robinson but not worst than tim, both were taller.shaq made some unbelelievable highlight dribbles and ewing was also good and mainly use his dribble when defender guard him outside(pat was very good midde range shooter)to get over him and score.watch some videos before u say your arguments.for example watch"ewing top 13 plays" or "shaquille o'neal coast to coast" and many other.i isist my point tim was more a center but even pf not the best!
sorry but saying duncan could play defeense so is the best is wrong.the same way e.hayes was also great defender but also better offensively than tim.mchale also was very good defender with those long arms.and what about kevin love is like barkley?are u serious man?u loose any possible arguments u might have!as concern tim,in my opinion is more a center than a pf,he has great post and inside game but not so good outside shooter like barkley, malone, hayes,kg and of course not like dirk and pettit
Kevin Johnson Was a Very Good Player Himself But He Was More of a "1st Drive-Shoot then Pass PG" He Played More Like a SG. He Was a Selfish Player and Didn´t Make Others Better. No Wonder He Shot like 42% FG in the 93 Finals and Averaged Just 1 More APG than Charles. He Was Good But He Wasn´t and Isn´t HOF Material. The Suns NeeDed a Better Defensive Center and a PURE PASS-TYPE PG. But Then Again Its Hard to Beat MJ, then Having Your 2nd Best Player Be PIPPEN!. Jordan Was Blessd With Pippen!
Barkley's fundamentals is solid, never carries or palms the ball like many of today's bigs.
I had the privilege of watching this guy destroy the league for 8 years as a Sixer. It's like the rest of the world discovered him after he left Philly, but we already knew he was a beast.
@ALF Raydough nobody?, they weren't all-time greats but Hersey Hawkins, Rick mahorn, Mario elie, Johnny Dawkins were damn good players
You can argue he played better with the Sixers rather than suns
Greatest player ever without a ring. Give me Charles Barkley over Ewing, Stockton, Karl Malone, Reggie Miller, A.I, Carter, T-mac, Melo, CP3....ANYBODY!!!!! CHARLES IN CHARGE!!!!!!
Facts
No doubt and he did it at 6’5 banging down low with with guys 6’10 and up back when big men actually lived in the paint.
Don’t forget Nash Harden Russ D Rose PG Dame
Charles you schooled the Warriors that night! Awesome performance! You could get your shot anywhere on the court that night! I wish you would of had one of these games in the NBA Finals. Still a great game! That would of been an awesome interview!
this might be the most epic ass whipping ever delivered in an nba game. charles is funny and unassuming nowadays but he was a fucking killer in his prime
Barkley was such a natural he wasn't even a hardworker in the gym and he was still able to dominate at the power forward position
one of the most underrated players of his era. the guy could do it all.
@Jon Davis number one is absurd. What do you call the work he did in Phoenix?
@Jon Davis before we go any further I have to ask...do you have some personal vendetta against him? It sure sounds like it by the way you're talking about him. That would make your opinion biased. Sir Charles puts on a big game to get the win and move on.
Charles Barkley back in the day was PURE BEAST.
This performance reminds me of LeBron James when he's on a tear, but Barkley just moves slower and more deliberately, LeBron is so damn quick and strong.

Best Power Forward in the HISTORY of basketball! Sir Charles a 6'5" player, playing against guys 6'7 and higher! He was BEAST!!!
He could get like 30 rebounds a game.
I feel sorry for people who never saw Chuck play. Definitely a legend.
A legend to play the game.
mike and charles!! two of my most favorite players when i was a kid
Two goats of the NBA
Sir Charles had to put in hard work to make up for his size. 6'4 vs. 6'9 and taller. That's epic
that 1st quarter is the greatest 1st quarter played by any player in the history of the nba playoff amazing , really really underrated , no doubt top 18 /20 player of all time top 5 power forward
Great outside equally devastating inside..and what amazes me is his strength
Most entertaining PF ever.
He was nice to watch. He should of stayed with the suns for longer. He was with the suns for four years.
