- FAST Autobahn acceleration / Launch Control test with the all-new 2020 / 2021 VW Golf 8 GTI powered by a revised 2.0 TSI delivering 245 hp & 380 Nm of torque, this time with the 7-speed DSG instead of the 6-speed manual we tested earlier this year. Unfortunately the numbers aren't 100% comparable to the 6-speed as we have 19 inch winter tires on this car and a very damp track at 4 degrees celsius. I have recently driven a rental Kia Rio. I could not belive that a car could be that slow.....like it can barrely follow other traffic and thats if you fucking smash the gas pedal.....like its borderline scary lmao.

The differences in 100-200 of the manual transmission GTI can probably be explained with wind conditions. They make a big difference at high speeds.

@@mattsamuels3607 because I've driven both and can feel the power difference, manual transmission feels much more directly connected to the power supply. Ask any racer, any real racer. Lol

Hey, tolles Video! Mein GTI ist gerade auf dem Band. Kann man die 19 Zoll Felgen auch im Winter fahren? Mein Händler bestand extra auf die 18 Zoll Winterfelgen.
Cool! Glückwunsch. 19 Zoll wie hier ist nicht ab Werk erhältlich sondern Winterreifen auf Sommerfelge.

Schädlich bestimmt nicht wirklich, zumindestens nicht auf 2-3Jahre und bei regelmäßiger Reinigung.
Love the stability of the German brands at high speed..also robust, elegant cockpits (Audi VW Porsche and Lambo) . Bugatti and Bentley obviously on a hyper level...

Well, catless downpipe, cold isolated intake, straight exhaust, lighter wheels, some fine tune for good fuel and I can see 10 or 11 seconds
Does it need that much? Bigger intercooler and oilcooler, perhaps a downpipe and software could be enough. These engines have been pushing 400 hp quite easily
I did high 10sec with my stg2 mk6 gti
No way an mk8 would be as fast as my mk6 with the same mods it would be faster than 10sec

Was considering the Arteon 4Motion vs Golf GTI 8. Seems like the Golf is faster even with lesser horsepower but slightly more torque.

The gearing is also different between the DSG and Manual. It's a bit more complicated than just how fast you or the DSG changes gears.
But DSG gearing is even shorter🧐
@@Automann-TV Yes, which either means 2 shifts during the same speed interval OR the gears are so short they are on the edge of the engines maximum rev gain.(The speed at which the engine can go from 3-7k rev as an example without load.)
@@Automann-TV andere Abstimmung der Gänge, bei 210 Tacho hat er genau 200 drauf, und im DSG schaltet er kurz davor,hingegen er in der manuellen Version im 4ten Gang höher dreht und man folglich 1 mal weniger schalten muss zwischen 100und 200 :)

😂...you’re Right👍....GTI CS looks better from the front but R is up in any other discipline and has AWD to really use the 320 hp....plus Akrapovic right from the start. So if it was my money I would order a Golf 8 R today🤷♂️😜

Traction/performance wise, yes. Otherwise, no. Taller car, a lot worse interior quality, and more expensive. Golf r is better, but not cheaper.

@@Kumar-bg6nr the t-roc has the worst interior quality of any recent vw car. Hard scratchy plastics everywhere. Go see one. You will be so disappointed. Almost all the competition has a better interior.

@@wheelieschulz1204 yes but again, that wheel spin is due to the winter tyres that have poor grip, specially if the road temperature is not really low. Under normal conditions with summer tyres that wouldn’t be a problem as long as the car has a good chassis

Hast du ne Erklärung warum die per Hand gestoppte Zeit von 100-200 ca 14sec beträgt? Ich hab im Video mehrfach mitgestoppt. Beim Tesla M3P hab ich das auch gemacht und da stimmt es zwischen Tachoanzeige und deiner Messung ziemlich gut. Das würde bedeuten daß der Golf die 200 tatsächlich erst deutlich später erreicht als es auf dem Tacho steht.
Ja tun sie aber so das halt is auch alles so vorgeschrieben damit in keinem Fall der Tacho zu wenig anzeigt

0-100 isn’t really comparable under those conditions but 100-200 Mk7.5 GTIs show around 17 seconds....even on 18 inch.
@@Automann-TV you must be dreaming if you think the mk7 gti best 100-200 time is 17 seconds. I find the mk8 100-200 worst than its predecessor tbh. The good upgrade is on the R . going from 13.8 to 11.5.

Nope it’s faster 100-200...many Golf 7 GTI Performance owners stated that as well. But it’s not faster with DSG than with 6-speed manual, at least not on this 100-200 measurement;)

Das würde ich jetzt nicht sagen....subjektiv ist das gleich. Ist auch ein Auto aus dem gleichen Testwagen-Pool den wir schon im August hatten, sogar mehr Kilometer rubter
Da war mein schöner 1991er Golf 2 GTI G60 auf jeden Fall nicht langsamer 😍
Und hat bestimmt nicht so eklig gefurzt beim Gas wegnehmen.

The dct i30N does the 0 to 100 in 5.1 and 100 to 200 in 19 seconds

The manual mk7 and mk8 gti have longer gearing so they will often trap higher in the quarter mile or something like that 100-200 run.
In the real world, it seems the slightly longer gearing in the manual offsets the time lost shifting gears, even tho it’s probably for economy reasons.

pretty slow for a 100-200. I do hope with a tune it wakens the car up. I managed to do 100-200 in 11.1 sec with a stage 1 tune on my mk7 gti. I have seen stage 1 mk7 with a more agressive tune do 10.5. So is 15.9 fast ? no, if you compare to mk7. I suppose VW focused most on the R's performance which is amazing compared to the mk7 R.
