      Ned was dead wrong. Literally. When it comes to ruling 7 kingdoms, honor goes out the window and is more of a sidequest rather than taking any sort of priority

    • @ileking
      @ileking Год назад +17

      And whose family got the win in the end? Don't let anything fool you, ned might have lost his life including some members of his family but we can all agree that his dignity and honor plays a major role in what's remaining of house Stark. Yes he isn't smart enough to play the game but it's obvious almost everyone repests the remainder of house stark because of the code they've set for themselves.

    • @Geldahar
      @Geldahar Год назад +7

      @ile King You're right. I was mostly referencing his error of judgement on Dany and her dragons had she been killed in the earlier seasons then none of the terrible things she did would have happened, but then again she wouldn't have been there to aid against the Night King.

    • @graddeos
      @graddeos Год назад +14

      @@Geldahar Ned was right. And thats why he got his entire house ruling over smthng. His son is the King of the 6 kingdoms and his daughter finally and officially made the North an independent kingdom. Fighting for whats right sometimes might take generations to bring results. In Ned's case he gave up his life for his honor and his family made him proud.
      And ultimately his honor saved the whole world cus like you said, if he did kill Danny, the Night King would have won the war w/o even breaking a sweat. It just might have taken slightly longer to happen cus w/o an undead dragon the wall would never collapse, which is my biggest issue with the showrunners. The Dragons ultimately didnt save the war, they more or less made it possible bcs DnD couldnt write a proper script.

      I mean, Robert has a point. Up until his death it was considered to be a golden age essentially; the crown was HEAVILY in debt, but that's mainly littlefinger being a littleprick.
      Also, as long as Ned lives the Starks were kinda set anyways. A Stark sitting in winterfell had been basically a for sure thing for literally thousands of years; the Baratheon family hadn't even had the throne for a full generation, so it makes sense that Robert would be a bit less secure in his position
