When people hear the name Robert Baratheon, they usually associate it with his giant warhammer, few people know that he was unmatched when wielding a breastplate stretcher.
Horned helmets of a similar style were used historically en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horned_helmet#/media/File:KHM_Wien_B_74_-_Great_helm_of_Albert_von_Prankh,_14th_century,_front.jpg
Paddy Gannon Robert is such a good fighter in order to not ascent to deity levels, he has to handicap himself. The warhammer is actually the weapon he’s the worst at using, but if he didn’t handicap himself so, they would all see the true power of the ancient royal Baratheon bloodline,
Lyana Stark: I dont want Robert because he has a child and he probably wont be loyal. Also Lyana: Ill run away with Rhegar who showed his honor and loyalties by setting aside his wife and kids for a younger woman.
That's why I still think Lyanna was actually kidnapped by Rhaegar; at least in the books, that is. If she actually willingly ran away with him then she is the most selfish shit in the 7 Kingdoms
Νίκος Μελιδονιώτης I don’t love or hate Robert, just never cared much for him. Started a rebellion over a women he barely knew. Ned had more reason to start and be the head of this rebellion tbh, the crown abducted his sister, murdered his dad and brother and asked for his head. But meh, guess that’s just how the story goes.
Yeah at least we don't have to worry about the ending, since the whole story is already written. And all the amazing characters are there just younger-Ned,Robert,Tywin,Olenna,Balckfish...
Rheagar probably pissed himself a little when he saw Robert charging towards him full of rage and fury! Imagine that, dude is 6'6 fully armed on a horse with that huge horned antler helmet and a badass warhammer. Really would look like a Demon on the Trident. I would turn around and get the hell out of his way lol.
Feel very sad for Robert. He loved his best friends sister. Died thinking she loved him back. Died thinking how she might have suffered before dying. Can't blame him for being a bad king or being an alcoholic. He was traumatized. Probably never wanted to be king just wanted to get his love back.
rj I think by the time we see King Robert he is a shadow of his former self. He was traumatized by his parents death and more so by losing his true love.
The fact that you have such a simplistic, naive, and one-sided view of his mindset and circumstance shows that your emotional maturity level is still not up there yet.
He didn't even know who Lyanna actually was. He made her into a perfect model and blamed all his massive failures, as a King, husband, and children, on "losing" Lyanna. He couldn't own up to just being a shitty person as he grew older.
Essen Slug I reaffirm my statement: Anyone who can sum up someone’s life-especially that of Robert Baratheon-as a black-or-white judgment is too young, whether physically and/or mentally. That’s the equivalent of saying Thanos is completely “bad” without understanding any of the moral nuances in his character.
I find it interesting that the Baratheon brothers are all very different men, but what divides them isn't their differences, but their shared pride and self-destructive tendencies.
I think the conversation between Jon Snow and a blacksmith best illustrated the Baratheon brothers. Bobby is the steel. Mannis the Iron, won't break no matter what. Renly well he's copper, shiny and good to look at but not much worth.
@@revanofkorriban1505 That's why Stannis is the Mannis, after seeing Renly play the game of convincing lords, and Davos' advice he changes, to acknowledge that you were wrong and should change is a sign of a great leader. @acooknamed_Rishi all is fair in love and war. Tell me wouldn’t WW2 have went better if Hitler was killed by a shadow person instead of the Allies fighting Germany in battle losing millions of other lives?

The more popular and profit a show or movie makes, the more strings are going to be pulled. Writing is limited to what people tell you in a case like this. But it's easy to say things because you aren't involved. I just hate to see 7 seasons of amazing writing being thrown away because one of bad season. When they had ridden forth to win a throne, the Lord of Storm’s End had been clean-shaven, clear-eyed, and muscled like a maiden’s fantasy. Six and a half feet tall, he towered over lesser men, and when he donned his armor and the great antlered helmet of his House, he became a veritable giant. He’d had a giant’s strength too, his weapon of choice a spiked iron warhammer that Ned could scarcely lift. In those days, the smell of leather and blood had clung to him like perfume. ~Ned Stark
I've only watched the show, but I like how in season 1 I was like "Robert Baratheon is a shitty king," and by season 2 I was already nostalgic for his rule.
Robert Baratheon was the best King that we have been shown on TV. That says a lot about how bad the other Kings and Queens on the TV adaptations have been 😂 I guess the Good Kings and Queens don't create enough trouble for our entertainment 🤔 I'd love to see them do the Blackfyre Rebellion or Robert's Rebellion
I also only watched the shows. From what I have seen, his worst quality as a king was being a spendthrift. He knew he wasn’t made for managing a country, so he chose a very good hand (Jon Arryn and, later, Ned Stark) whom he trusted entirely. His council wasn’t bad. I would say Pycelle and Littlefinger were the biggest problem there. Yes, he was a drunk and lustful man, but he also knew he wasn’t made for kingship, assigning thoses duties to men more suited for this.
Little finger started the Rebellion by seeing Lyanna Stark with Rhaeghar at the Cross roads inn, he hid himself from view (he was only a young man) he was there over a period of a winter due to the snow being to high for travel to the narrow pass of the Eyrie, yet after they left and he still was there Brandon Stark Showed up The man who had Wounded him in a Duel, He got into Contact with him quickly since Lyanna was supossed to go to Riverrun to marry Robert and Brandon was going there in advance with some 200 men, Little finger told him what he had seen. And that's where the Rebellion started beacuse a boy saw a Prince with another mans wife.
And also intersting, course Little Finger in the Show knows that Chaos is a Ladder. and if you see him wtih Sansa at the Crypt in Winterfell when Sansa says he kidnapped and Raped her... well HE saw them in love but she and him were Cloaked but little finger SAW Them in love none the less and he was Hoster tully's ward, so he knew damm well who she was course he was at the Tourney at Harrenhal, it's why little finger knows what to do and play the Cards right

If they make a spinoff that’s focused on Roberts rebellion they need to get a beast of a man to play him, seeing Robert in his prime needs to be done right, the same with Raegar too, they should try and get the same actor to played young Ned again, he was damn near perfect
Irony is Robert and Lyanna would be perfect for each other based on what we know about their characters. She loved riding, hunting, fighting and didn;'t want to be a lady( Arya) like other girls and Robert loved all those things. Fair enough Robert was no Rhaegar, but he was extremely handsome in his youth. Even Cersei admits that much. For all we know Robert truly loved her and he would stop whoring, drinking because of her.
@@warrennelson3737 Yeah, it makes it worse for Lyanna considering she based this assumption on him getting a girl pregnant at 16 like he's a teenager. Rhaegar definitely took advantage of Lyanna.
If Robert was already getting fat (or even if he was not that fat but thick from a combination of muscle and fat deposits), and at 6' 6" tall, some women just don't like these types of big dumb jock meathead types.
I am curious of how lyanna would treat his illegitimate children since he wanted to brings his bastard daughter with him to kings landing, no doubt to raise her among his suppose children but Cersei threaten to have her killed. Would lyanna treat them no different from how catelyn stark did to jon?
Yeah he likely ignored his other bastards because he didn't know about them, he knew about Mya and visited her and played with her, and he set up edric storm at storms end to be raised there, he likely only knew about edric because his mother was a noble woman.
If my GoT memory serves correctly, prime Robert was one of the only three knights Jamie saw himself losing duels to in the Seven Kingdoms. The other two being Arthur Dayne and Barriston Selmy.

4:00 Around this same time, Robert fell in love with Ned's younger sister, Lyanna Stark. He barely knew her but acted as if he was madly in love (with her). Where are you getting this info? The book clearly explained that Ned always brings Robert to Winterfell, and I assume that Lyana visits Ned in the eyrie. Lyanna might not love Robert but they knew each other since they were kids. 4:14 She found out about his bastard daughter in the veil and knew he wouldn't remain loyal. he's future marriage to Cercei proved her to be right. What? Its true that Lyanna didn't love him but it has nothing to do with loyalty. I mean why would she think that while both she and Aegon are also cheating with their betrothed and wife, respectively. And about Cercei, Jon Aryn ever the practical, forced Robert to marry Cercei because they needed the alliance of the Lannisters to the new king. Part of the reason why Cercei is a bitch throughout the series is because Robert made it clear, probably at their wedding day, that he loves a dead woman and cercei will not change that. There is a big possibility that Robert would not whore around if Lyanna was married to him.
@@thegreatpage5912 Where did she accuse Robert of this, or state that was her reason for not wanting to marry him? I don't recall reading that in the book, only hearing it here in this video. Nothing GRRM that I read stated that she gave a single shit about Robert's bastards. Meanwhile, @Batotit Oftwotree makes a very good point that contradicts the video - she knew Robert. She didn't love him, but she *knew* him. This wasn't some arranged marriage where she knew nothing about her husband - she'd known him for years, met him at tourneys, etc. She didn't want to marry him, her father betrothed her to him, and when Rhaegar wanted to steal her away she took that chance at freedom gladly. Also want to agree that if Robert had married Lyanna he probably would have remained faithful, but I think if she'd been forced to marry Robert there was a good possibility of Lyanna turning into the Cersei we see in the show. Hateful, bitter, unhappy, and in love with a man she can't have...
@@Nystariii Lyanna told Ned that "Robert would never keep to one bed" and then Ned told her that Robert loved her and she replied by "love is sweet dearest Ned but it cannot change a mans nature" and plus Robert had only one bastard at that time that was born before they were betrothed(mya Stone) so yea she wasn’t happy about it
Its sad rewatching Robert talk about how he killed Rhagar in front of Barristan. Later, you realize they were best friends and how much Barristan admired and cared for his friend. Much like Robert and Ned.
Yeah but Robert wasn't talking about Rhaegar during that conversation. It was some random Tarly nobleman he killed at first. However, this in itself presents another continuity error since Roberts first battle was in the Eyrie and not Summerhall like he said in the scene.
Robert still would have had a chance. Would you rather get hit by a big ass Warhammer, or greatsword? Neither. But, you have a BETTER chance at fending against a greatsword than something smashing your whole weapon in pieces. Probably why Rhaegar died.
Even though Robert had great skill, I don't think he would have won. One hit from the mountain and your dead. One mistake and you die. The only reason Oberyn almost killed the Mountain was because of how fast he was. Robert in his prime would never be this fast making it much more likely that the Mountain would be able to kill him.
The three Baratheon brothers were each a reflection of their great-grandfather, Lyonel Baratheon, the Laughing Storm. Robert inherited his strength. Stannis inherited his honor and pride. Renly inherited his ability to win the love of the people
9:59 Jon Conningtons forces going door to door looking for Robert Robert, standing in front of a window completely visible: “these mfs will never find me”
Oberyn Martell is my favorite character as well. His backstory is nuanced and original. I really hope a future HBO project finds a way to include it even if only in flashbacks.
Robert, like all great leaders, is extremely forward-thinking, playful and melancholic. The dangers he warned have come true. And those he hated showed their true faces ahead. Like Lancel, Jamie & Cercei, Stannis, Kaalese, Dothraki Army or Ned's and Catherine's foolishnes. He is best King and best fighter in prime of GoT series.
Job arryn was badass in all this, he must truly have loved and seen Robert and ned as his own sons to revolt against the targaryens in open rebellion, when in reality none of the events directly affected him in any way, he just straight up was like nuh uh my dudes no one messes with my sons
When Ned and Robert went to live with him. I'm sure Jon Arryn gave them "guess rights". And in Jon's eyes. If he gave up Ned and Robert up to the Med King. Then he would be breaking those rights.
Ser Elbert Arryn, his nephew and heir presumptive, was amongst those who accompanied Brandon Stark to King's Landing and was killed. So was Lord Kyle Royce, presumably of House Royce of the Runestone, one of the most powerful families in the Vale.
i know right! it should be even called "Arryn's Rebelion" but i understand why it called robert instead, he also even keep the dornish in part of seven kingdom by diplomacy. Robert it's my favorite charater in Game of Thrones but Arryn have my respect!
I think its unfair to say that Lyanna was "right about Robert being unfaithful". Who's to say what her true reasons were for not loving him the same way he did her. It is true that Robert was unfaithful to Cersei, but Robert never loved Cersei. To remain faithful to someone you can never love would be a difficult task for many men. Had Robert been allowed to pursue his love, it might have changed him as a person. I feel that the true purpose of marriage isn't just to spend the rest of your life with someone. The purpose of marriage is for both parties to become their best selves through union, love, and devotion. When you have married the wrong person, or are wrong yourself, it leads to a toxic and unprofitable situation, much like Robert and Cersei.
Moral of the Story : A Targaryen and Baratheon will always end up broken hearted or even died miserably once they tried to woo a Stark. Rhaegar, Robert, Gendry and Dany experienced it first hand.
Jamie : "By what's right does a wolf judge a lion" Me: "By what's right does a stag kill a dragon"lol "By what's right does a lion stab a dragon in the back"lol
Stag kill a dragon because rhaeger took his betrothed when his father Stefan died after he went to find rhaeger a wife Lion stab a dragon in the back cause he was a crazy wanted to blow up the city
I was rewatching season 1. And when they were near lyannas grave, it was like Sean Bean already knew the secret, so he acted it so well, and so subtle, atleast to me, it now seems so obvious the secret he keeps. The part with Robert and lyanna is what reminded me.
Robert had quit an advantage compared to the other warriors and knights of Westeros, a warhammer is an effective weapon for destroying armor which most knights use, a sword can pierce armor only with a thrust through the gaps while a hammer could destory armor head on. Most people don't use hammers or maces because they are too cumbersome, making strikes slower and less maneuverable then with a sword but because of Robert's incredible strength he could swing a warhammer without affecting his mobility that much.
My favorite character from the series. He is a lot more wholesome than people give him credit for. He's a real man's man & I enjoy the parts of the story he's featured in a lot
The Baratheons were the first House that the Targaryens and Valeryons took into their fold when they came to Westeros after the Doom of Valyria, so it was no surprise that Robert was seen as the heir to the Iron Throne.
I’ll be honest, I don’t think Robert would ever be unfaithful to Lyanna, he did truly love her. And she’s the reason everything happened in GoT if she wouldn’t have ran off, Robert would’ve never tried to take the throne
He didn't love her, he lusted for her. She was just another conquest for him, I highly doubt he would have been loyal if things worked out differently.
I love young robert but nah. Robert would've gotten quickly bored out of her as well sadly and cheated on her,Robert is like don draper. the lyanna Robert loves well she never existed. but id wager lyanna would be happy if Robert allows her to hunt and hunt with her.

Alexander Christopher actually no Robert’s ancestor is a Targaryen bastard « orys Baratheon » the half brother of aegon the conqueror so it’s the same family
Someone else mentioned it and I agreed. Lyanna is a damn hypocrite. She believes Robert will be unfaithful and a defining reason she doesnt love him YET She goes off with a MARRIED man, who whether he truly loved his wife or not, still marrried. Lyanna’s morality has no say to defend her for what she did after hr views on Robert. If anything, it is worse on Lyanna’s part since she took an already married man. It is not like she just had sex with him and that was that.
8:30 that's what separates Robert from a lot of other people winning wars/gaining power. You have to know when to retreat. Robert was bloodthirsty and a drunk AND he probably felt invincible with all his wins under his breastplate stretcher. Yet, he knew when not to push his luck.
"She barely knew robert" is best friends with her brother, brother tells her he is loyal and loves her said brother is known for never telling lies. All the while, knows rheagar even less *runs away with married man with 2 kids*
The internal peace was more of a consequence of circumstance than his good management, that was bad, as we saw how in debt the kingdom was during his reign as a good example of this. The North, Vale and Riverlands were secured thanks to his friendship with Ned and Jon Arryn. They both also married the Tullys, protecting their alliance with the Riverlands. The Lannisters were rich and powerful so securing a marriage with Cersei was the best move (that Jon Arryn and Tywin did btw). Not sure what the Tyrells and Martells did after they lost the rebellion, but the new loyalist alliance around Robert was far superior over the two others lords who also hated each other, so even an alliance with just the two was probably out of the question too.
If we ever do get Roberts Rebellion series it should be told from Jon Arryns point of view. Dude was ordered by the king to send Ned and Robert to their death and instead he helped them overthrow a dynasty
Robert Baratheon, the legend wielded a massive war hammer 🔨💥 , a nameless monstrosity of spiked iron, however Rhaegar knew it as the BREASTPLATE STRETCHER
After all that to Robert and all that happened after his death he really was A tragic character. I mean after all when he was King there were no wars and kingdom prospered ( don't count Greyjoi rebelion)
One thing that was completely hidden, or went unnoticed in the GOT series is- how Ned had to sacrifice his love (Ashara Dayne) because of the consequences, Ashara committed suicide, after knowing about her brother's death, and Ned's marriage to Cat. All this while living rest of his life knowing Lyanna wasn't actually kidnapped, and had to sacrifice his honor to raise her child as his bastard.
You know, Robert and Brandon (Ned's elder brother) were pretty similar. Eldest children who loved sex and violence. I don't remember them meeting though. Must be cause Robert was usually with the other Stark brother Ned in the Vale. They might have met in the tourney at Harrenhall but there is no mention of how they viewed each other or even talked.
Robert is the example of a Man really only made for one purpose and once that purpose was fulfilled he didn't know what to do. Had he been the second son he probably would have been far happier as there wouldn't be any obligations or expectations for him to a Great Lord.
@Gino Victory doesn't work, Robert died before even knowing about gendry as such, stannis is the rightful heir and is the only one who has the right to legitimize gendry, but since stannis would be king to do that, then gendry would still inherit nothing.
@Gino Victory But Gendry was legitimised by Daenerys who wasnt rightful queen. Stannis was and with him and Shireen the royal line died. Cersei was technically Queen of the Andals etc after Stannis' death cause she held the Iron Throne.
Game Of Thrones needs a remake but with more story detail. They should start from the very beginning when the Targaryen took over the Westeroes with their dragons and built the 7 Kingdoms
Out of all the characters from the war it’s Robert I wish I could’ve seen in his prime. His confidence as king was so bad ass. None of the Lannister kings had the same presence. Would’ve loved to see him take on a warrior of similar skill
Even though I knew that whole backstory, that was an absolute treat. Something about your voice is very soothing and makes the material 10 times more interesting, as interesting as it already is to begin with.
Looking at Robert Baratheon in that helmet makes me think of a wendigo. The wendigo is a legend about a man who eats human flesh. The man, while in the depths of the wilderness, is tempted by insatiable hunger and the desire to “consume” which drives him to feast on the flesh of a man. They are, in fact, cursed and turn into a sort of demon.
I wish they would make a Game of Thrones show called House Lannister and showing how the Lannisters became one of the most powerful kingdoms also showing Robert's rebellion and how Jaime Lannister killed the mad king
You know, I never really thought about it until now, but it doesn't totally make sense why Aerys would ask for Robert's head in addition to Ned's. It seems to me that Steffon Baratheon had died before Aerys' relationship with him had time enough to sour. The only thing I could think that would make him target the son of his dead friend would be that he was worried that Robert might go after Rhaegar because of his weird escapade with Lyanna. However, we're shown a lot of signs that indicate that Aerys himself was not terribly fond of Rhaegar either. I know he's the mad king and everything, but it seems strange that on one hand, he's this screaming crazy "burn them all" Madman, while also being savvy enough to notice that two random kids of his vassals are BFF's and that to harm one is to harm the other.
Aerys feelings about Rhaegar likely didn’t mean that Aerys was going to allow anyone to threaten the crown prince. The Starks we’re going to be allied with the Tully’s through marriage and through friendship with the Vale & Stormlands. Asking for Ned and Roberts heads isn’t nonsensical if the goal is to cripple a rebellion
@@mysteryjunkie9808 Okay...no. He was married with a member of another eminet House, which could have been legittimately pissed off by that and indeed it was for how Rhaegar had insulted Elia at the tournement of Harrenhal.
okay but I suddenly became interested picturing out Steffon, Aerys and Tywin hanging out in their earlier years. then some more years its just Tywin hah.
BTW for anyone in the comments wondering WHY Lyanna and Rhaegar didn't just tell everyone they married to stop the war from even starting because if they did it would anger both Dorne and Storm's End and our hella selfish lovers probably thought they could have just waited it out until everything blew over and reveal the info slowly (=> classic case of "man makes plans and God laughs" lol)
This right here... would make a great mini-series, GoT has so many chances to do so many mini-series. each season can be a backstory to a different important character. I guarantee that would make them MILLIONS and get so many people tuning in for the next back story of another great warrior.
The sad thing about Steffons death is that Aerys loved him and his death made him really go off the deep end. He also believed Tywin caused it, somehow. Oh sure, he was still mad, he's a Targ, but Steffons death was the start of the end. I honestly don't think things would have gone as bad as they did had he lived.

rj I think by the time we see King Robert he is a shadow of his former self. He was traumatized by his parents death and more so by losing his true love.

I find it very ironic that Lyanna accused Robert of not remaining loyal, but then run away with a married man.
Also want to agree that if Robert had married Lyanna he probably would have remained faithful, but I think if she'd been forced to marry Robert there was a good possibility of Lyanna turning into the Cersei we see in the show. Hateful, bitter, unhappy, and in love with a man she can't have...

They didn’t. Baratheons were founded by bastard brother of aegon the conqueror

All the while, knows rheagar even less *runs away with married man with 2 kids*
Well. That's why we say ‘women☕’
Robert Baratheon was actually a good king. He was at peace with all the other 6 kingdoms.
Others ruled in his name while he drinks, eats and goes to whores.
@@stefanozucchelli5410 exactly, it was pretty much jon arryn and stannis ruling lol
@@karikim6905 But we can see that he take all important decisions. When its not important hes not interested.
@@propheon9789 nah, he barely did anything. The most important decision he made was to have Daenerys killed. 🙄
Gino Victory 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@MAN_FROM_BEYOND 😇🙏🏾
Lyanna: Robert could never be loyal!
Also Lyanna: omg he’s willing to leave his wife and kids for me! So romantic!
wish they make a prequel of Robert's rebellion..
Could’ve shown it through Brans visions.. wasted opportunity
This Is just robert Baratheon backstory the same as Ned being the Quiet wolf or the King Aerys 1th becamr Mad King by the backstory.
Keep up the good work man! Covered Absolutely brilliantly!!! I appreciate these immensely! Would love more character profiles!
Love Robert he actually was a decent king only one rebellion and maintained peace with the north and he wasn't cruel
He was a poor King, the realms debt expanded and lots of corruption happened. However I don't think he was a bad person or wanted to be king.
After all that to Robert and all that happened after his death he really was A tragic character. I mean after all when he was King there were no wars and kingdom prospered ( don't count Greyjoi rebelion)
the history of this world is insane and awesome to see the friendships of each generation and how those friendships affect the generations to come
I would want a show like this showing the young Robert Ned and Tywin and how they got to be also the Targaryen dynasty would be amazing to see
One thing that was completely hidden, or went unnoticed in the GOT series is- how Ned had to sacrifice his love (Ashara Dayne) because of the consequences, Ashara committed suicide, after knowing about her brother's death, and Ned's marriage to Cat. All this while living rest of his life knowing Lyanna wasn't actually kidnapped, and had to sacrifice his honor to raise her child as his bastard.
I loved Stannis and Robert. I wish we got a scene with Stannis and Robert.
I’ve recently started watching your videos and have yet to be disappointed. Thank you for the time and study you put into these.
Robert is the example of a Man really only made for one purpose and once that purpose was fulfilled he didn't know what to do. Had he been the second son he probably would have been far happier as there wouldn't be any obligations or expectations for him to a Great Lord.
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Gendry is the rightful heir to the iron throne.
Bastard does not inherit
@Gino Victory doesn't work, Robert died before even knowing about gendry as such, stannis is the rightful heir and is the only one who has the right to legitimize gendry, but since stannis would be king to do that, then gendry would still inherit nothing.
@Gino Victory But Gendry was legitimised by Daenerys who wasnt rightful queen. Stannis was and with him and Shireen the royal line died. Cersei was technically Queen of the Andals etc after Stannis' death cause she held the Iron Throne.
You are mistaken my friend, Stannis is the rightful heir.
Gendry is a bastard and thus the rightful heir to nothing.
Game Of Thrones needs a remake but with more story detail. They should start from the very beginning when the Targaryen took over the Westeroes with their dragons and built the 7 Kingdoms
A remake? you mong. lol
They are making the prequel series now,House of the Dragon
There’s lore videos read by the cast read about houses and history all on RUclips.
Robert was my favorite character from GOT. Too bad he left so early. I want a show based on Robert"s rebellion when he was in his prime.
Robert was the most fearsome warrior when he lived. The best fighter in the 7 kingdoms.
Robert Vs Drogo would have been a awesome battle. Sad that they both died before that could happened.
@@goldberg708 Robert could fight 2 drogos at once and still win
I wouldn't mind an animated series about roberts rebellion
I wouldn't mind an entire ASOIAF animated series, to me!
Liana didn’t like Robert for being a player, but fell for a man with a whole ass family lmao
Yeah but the other guy was the prince and future King she thought so it was okay. Little did she know Robert was actually the future King lmao
@@mysteryjunkie9808 Okay...no. He was married with a member of another eminet House, which could have been legittimately pissed off by that and indeed it was for how Rhaegar had insulted Elia at the tournement of Harrenhal.
Robert was quite a major character in the 1st season of the show, but in book 1 he barely appears
Huh?
What...? He's in the book with pretty much the same frequency as he is in the show.
His relationship with Cersei is more fleshed out. D&D said they added scenes with them because they needed the episodes to be longer
Robert and Stannis are my favourites ! Great video by the way
I’ve always been a pretty big King Robert fanboy.
okay but I suddenly became interested picturing out Steffon, Aerys and Tywin hanging out in their earlier years. then some more years its just Tywin hah.
Still depressed that a character that never had any prominent scenes in the series or chapters in the books died...
Robert deserved POV chapters in AGOT (just like he had more scenes in the show) before he died!
It would’ve changed nothing. It would’ve still been seen as a great insult by marrying a great house’s daughter in secret and without consent
This right here... would make a great mini-series, GoT has so many chances to do so many mini-series. each season can be a backstory to a different important character. I guarantee that would make them MILLIONS and get so many people tuning in for the next back story of another great warrior.
"the Demon of the Trident"...still the greatest title/moniker in the GOT series.
