    I am brand new to crocheting. I am not very good at reading pattern instructions so I am watching your video to learn more. My question is does chain 2 count as a half-double?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  2 года назад

      Hi there! That is a great question. In this pattern no the chain 2 does not count as a stitch. It is just your turning chain to get you to the next row. Thank you for asking. I hope that helps you. 😊🧡🧶

    Lovely tutorial ❤. I've already started making this towel. But one big question: what are the measurements? Especially: what is the lenght of this basic first row of 64 hdc? I would be grateful if you can answer this question

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  9 месяцев назад +3

      Great question. The dimensions of the main towel without the hood is 23 inches wide by 36 inches long. I hope this helps. 😊🧶❤️

    Hi Tiffany. I've been watching your channel for a few weeks and I'm always amazed at how much useful information you give us, even aside from the patterns and tutorials. Now I have a question about the yarn. I'm really not fond of the colors available in the Yarn Bee. How would I go about converting this to a lighter weight cotton yarn such as Sugar / Peaches and Cream which are both #4 weight? Would working with 2 strands of yarn produce a similar result? Or maybe doing the same with 2 strands of #3 yarn? Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA.

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 года назад +2

      Hi Jacinta! Thank you so much for watching my videos! I really appreciate you following my crochet journey here on RUclips and I am so glad that my little tips I squeeze in my videos are helpful. 😊.
      I actually thought about the need for making this pattern in a more accessible yarn such as a Sugar/ Peaches and Cream Cotton and I made a full pattern for this design. The stitch count is different but the concept is the same. I will get that pattern typed up and organized and pretty and then I'll post so that you can get it. I'll start working on that right away because I'm sure there are a few people that will be wanting this pattern. Thank you so much for asking! 😊🧡🧶

      Thank you so much for your quick response. I have to ask: Is Angel your middle name? Because that's what you are. I'm going to ne a first-time grandma in November and I've bern crocheting like crazy since we found out in March. The pandemic has given me plenty of time to indulge. 😉 When I saw this tutorial I knew right away that I wanted to make some for my new grand in colors to match the nursery. I'll be looking forward to downloading the new pattern when you've completed it. Thank you again.

    Heyyyyyyy--Ok, I'm a tad bit confused.....I thought the extended hdc had you pull through the 1st ch, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops??......

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  Год назад +2

      Honestly, I have see it done both ways. You are not wrong. I just needed people to know they needed to elongate that loop up and not make a regular Hdc stitch. I hope that makes sense.

      Hi Ellen! Haha, yes, this blanket did angle a bit during the tutorial. As the project grew it began to drape off the table and with the camera where it was the project started to angle at times. But I did make sure to keep everything in frame so you could see what I was doing. Thanks for the feedback! 😊🧶🧡

    Hi Tiffany, I am a beginner and tend to get confused between the American and Australian sizes.
    Would I be able to use t-shirt yarn for this bath towel?
    And what Australian ply yarn would be the equivalent of the size 5 bulky yarn?

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  3 года назад

      Hi Ami! Totally get the translation problem. You could absolutely use t-shirt yarn as a substitute for what I used! It would actually work out really well. Here is a chart I think you will find super helpful: pin.it/6iejbNd.. It compares all different yarn size terminology in an easy to follow way. 😊🧡🧶

    • @CrochetWithTiffany

      Hi Deborah! You will be looking for a size 5 Bulky/ Chunky yarn that is 100% cotton. Hopefully you can find some locally or online that you like. There are some great options. 😊❤️🧶

    If i made on for my granddaughter that's 14 she wears a size 2 in jr size how would i do that she's 5 foot tall

    • @CrochetWithTiffany
      @CrochetWithTiffany  4 года назад +2

      Hi Pattie! I love that you want to make one for your 14 yr old granddaughter! I would measure from the top of her head to the back of her knee. This will give you the length of the foundation row I mention in the video. You might also want to expand the next section where we make the hood because she will most definitely want a bigger hood. All you have to do to make the hood bigger is continue making more rows. That's it. Stop when you think the hood is big enough. Next you will work on the side panels. Just like I show in the video, you will want to make your extended Hdc stitches up until you are roughly 2 inches away from the hood. Then chain 2, turn, and continue the side panel like I show in the video. Reattach your second side panel like I show in the video. Make your Extended Hdc count the same and panel #1. You might want to make your side panels 2-3 feet wide for her to wrap around herself comfortably. Thank you so much for asking Pattie! Have Fun! 😊🧶🧡
