Fat Bike World Championship 2018 Saturday's Race

Another great day in CB. Our second time at Fat Bike Worlds and had as much fun as the first time. Was worried about them being so far behind with snowfall this season but it turned out to not be a problem as the course was fast and, naturally, picturesque.
The card in my Garmin Virb ran out of memory before the end of the race. Good thing because my wife (the camera was on her seat rails) ended up passing me near the end of the race to beat me.
I know it’s a long video but if you were at the back of the five-lap race or raced the three-lap race you might see yourself.

I love the video, and the sound track was so very relaxing to me. The music along with the scenery, colorful biker characters and occasional smiling face really creates this melancholy vibe that is true artistry in my opinion. It made me feel like one of those carefree days out on a trail that you know well with no worries, where you are most relaxed. Loved this video!

For just throwing a camera on the saddle rails of my wife’s bike it did turn out nicely. Fun to see all the racers.
We met a guy at bib number pickup, found out he was there for his first race and he ended being in the video for quite a few minutes in the video.

I raced in 2016 and 2017. I wish it would come back to Colorado, or maybe Idaho or South Dakota.

Yeah, I agree. However, this years race is just over an hour from me and just minutes from my daughters home.

That was crazy! I noticed a lot of riders had suspension forks. Do you think there's a lot of advantage of suspension forks on fatbikes like there is with normal mountain bikes?

Groomed trails are smooth so having a heavy suspension fork is a disadvantage.

overthetopblues, it was in Crested Butte, CO. We did the three lap race, about 18 miles. There was a five lap race also.

Thanks Gene. It turned out okay for just strapping a camera on the back of a bike. The cast of characters in the race and the scenery helped make for a decent video.

I over slept to today maybe to much beer 30. so I only had 20 minutes to Zwift before work perfect watch while riding the trainer. trying to make it to Pinedale, WY for worlds.
