    Finished 9th of 264 in The Big Fat.
    I stayed with the lead pack for over 10 miles but lost contact after that. Raced the rest of the way basically solo, and finished with more than a 3 minute lead over 10th place.

      You're welcome Thomas! Congrats on your strong finish!
      I did not want to go too far into the red and not be able to recover properly, so I let a gap open up at that point. I maybe should have gone for it anyway. I made up the ground after a couple miles, but was doubting if I could hold that pace for the remainder of the race. That decision caused me to be alone the rest of the race.

      @@NathanLong yeah I had to go into the red, and might have touched into the black zone there. 😵 Great race, great result, amazing improvement.

    Thanks for posting! I was rooting for you as you suddenly re-connected with the lead dogs, but the pack was just playing tease. It didn't seem fair once you found someone to work together before OO, they had other plans.... Bummer you had to do so much solo. For me, it became an internal game to keep the HR on the fine edge of yellow. Next time, take the coke!

      Thanks John. I should have only ran one water bottle as I consumed less than one the whole race. Could have dropped 2lbs of weight with that and would have likely helped on all those hills. lol

      @@NathanLong not to mention that go pro! No way I could’ve gotten that go pro over all those hills. 😂

    What video camera are you using, the Garmin?

    • @NathanLong
      @NathanLong  2 года назад +2

      GoPro Session 5, but used Garmin Virb Edit software to build the overlays for the video.

    I would not like to get a punchure half way on that course not when the wolves are waiting to eat you and the bears will probably steal your bike
