  • The birth of this monster goes back a few weeks ago when my Axial SCX10.2 tumbled down a climb at Papago and broke a couple of shock towers, one of them being the front left with the pan hard connection! I thought that I could either order new shock towers for the stock Axial chassis or go in a totally different direction!
    The chassis of my old Gen7 has always been a good candidate for a build, designed by BP it has many adjustment points for the shocks and has the set up for battery forward mounting and standard 3 gear style of transmissions. I decided I was going to replace the stock SCX10.2 chassis with the flat plates of the Redcat!
    I had already changed out the transmission in the Axial for the Element Stealth X unit with 11.83% overdrive and swapped over all the links, shocks and AR44 axles. The front axle was also equipped with the BP servo on chassis mount so that the truck can be converted to four link front.
    I also had to make a couple of other changes such as a smaller BP battery mount to fit under the Creep body (which has been converted to cab only) and the front aluminum bumper mount from SSD. Other list of parts are:
    SSD Slotted Stamped Steel Wheels
    Jconcepts Landmine tires (going to need two stage foams!)
    MKS HV1220 Steering Servo
    Holmes Hobbies Crawlmaster Sport 550 15T motor
    Hobbywing 1080 Speed Control
    and Spektrum STX3 3 channel radio/receiver
    Thanks for watching and be sure to come back for more on Frankencrawler, the Ultimate Gen7 Build here at Cactus Crawlers RC!

    I have an redcat gen 7 sport and i love the BPC chassis is so adjustable and robust!

      For sure, I enjoyed the truck when it did have the BPC chassis! The only reason it's been changed out is because it took a bad fall and got bent. I may try to bend it back one day and using it again! Thanks for watching the vid!

      Thanks! I ended up taking a bad fall a few months back and bent the Gen 7 chassis but I would like to try and bend it back into shape! Thanks for subbing, I appreciate the support!

    Do you have video on the whole build?

    • @CactusCrawlersRC
      @CactusCrawlersRC  Год назад +1

      I'm sorry but I didn't do a video of the build. I basically used the SCX10II kit on the Gen7 chassis and swapped out the transmission for the Element with overdrive, it worked out really great until it fell more than 7 feet onto a concrete floor at an indoor course and bent the frame!

    Are you running the normal redcat skit plate or?

    • @CactusCrawlersRC
      @CactusCrawlersRC  Год назад

      I was running the three gear trans and skid from the SCX10II but the Redcat skid probably would have been good too!
