I wokeup almost 2 weeks later in the ICU. I was in acoma for almost 2 weeks because i went into anaphylaxis and my heart stopped for over 2min. All of that to say, allergies are not a constant. Anyone can become allergic to anything at any time. You can accumulate more allergies over the years, or your allergies could go away. So just because youre not allergic to something now, doesnt mean youll never become allergic to it.
I became mildly allergic to apples after years of eating them just fine. I then suddenly stopped having reactions several years later. I knew my allergy would be temporary, so I ate an apple once a year as a test. It wasn't life threatening, I just felt mild pain in my throat. My father had a similar experience during his adolescence, so that's why I was confident it would disappear overtime. Apple juice never caused any reactions, only raw apples.
You're a life saver Brew! My mom has been suffering from these rashes and been trying hard to get rid of it. TQSVM for making this video, and I just noticed it was a recent video posted. This explains why when she doesn't wear underwear it doesn't irritate as much, as the rash becomes painful. The detergent was causing it. This is very informative, I wonder why these information aren't shared enough, it's such a huge work to go to doctors and they only prescribe one drug after another.
I stopped wearing underwear as well, started wearing dresses, like they did in the 1800. White chemise as the first dress, then a color dress over, then an apron .
I’ve had the same thing. It’s indeed quite painful; it feels like your skin is tearing when you move and even bleeds every now and then when the skin peels off. Fortunately my GP immediately diagnosed it correctly and advised me to switch to a different laundry detergent. That solved the issue. Although I had been using the same laundry detergent for years without any problems, apparently I had slowly developed an allergy.
What if something else changed that made the affliction causing ingredient react differently to your body. Chemicals can act differently depending on other chemicals.
It's those later developing allergies that throw us off. You keep looking for any NEW things in your environment, not realizing that it's something you've been using for years.
It's possible that the manufacturer changed the ingredients for cheaper variants that are also more likely to cause irritation. A great product you love will always be changed for the worse over time.
My grandmother years back would wash her clothes by hand in her bathtub with a clothes washing rack, and a laundry soap bar, no fancy scents, I'll never forget that, she never developed any skin rashes and her clothes smelled wonderful she hung them on a line to dry she was born over a hundred years ago and that's what they did...times have really changed and I don't think it's for the better imo.
A lot of people can't handle fragrances in normal household products. Fragrance doesn't do anything but smell nice and sadly, a lot of people develop contact dermatitis from it. I developed this year's ago and oh my god, the skin flaking, irritation and bleeding were so bad. Unscented is definitely better if you have sensitive skin. 😊
Having to wash all your clothes that way is time consuming and highly inconvenient. Rashes like the one this woman got mainly affect people with sensitive skin; they're not something that everybody gets. I'd much rather have the convenience of washing machines and dryers.
That’s because her generation was raised in an “dirty” environment, protecting them against autoimmune reactions. But the soap is also a thing. After getting allergic to wash powder, I started using the old soap bar again. No problems anymore. Now I use an ecologically brand, Ecover.
It (jokingly) drives my husband nuts that I will only use scent and dye free laundry soap. Can't even use fabric softener. He once by accident bought "mountain fresh" instead, he barely noticed a scent, but it made me sick and gave me headaches until I rewashed everything he had washed with it.
This is EXTREMELY VALIDATING to my struggles having Eczema prone skin. it was only on my elbows with the itchy parts but EVERYTHING IS WAY MORE IRRITABLE good to know it wasn't in my head or "just ocd" or whatever dismissive thing people would tell me.
Here in Germany, from my and my relatives and friends experiences, you will also get a same day appointment if you are in pain (and communicate that; The person on the phone can't read minds).
Started using vinegar lately in my laundry, about a third to half a cup and there's no smell after the clothes dry. they're also way softer and don't have that damp smell to them which is common here in Ireland
If I had a rash in that area, especially if it was that painful, that'd get me to the clinic even quicker than a rash on any other part of my body. No matter how many medical professionals I'd have to show it to.
I got a pretty aggressive rash this last November and it never really got better. About two weeks ago my washing machine stopped filling up, and it turns out that the electronic fill up valves have been failing for a while now. I've had to run multiple wash cycles without any detergent to rinse the soap out and couldn't figure out why until now. I replaced them and now my clothes are finally soap free. It's weird how the time line matches so well.
The cleaning chemical industry is evil. I realized I was allergic to scents inside of laundry detergents when I heard Louis CK say, "Tide makes my butthole itch" or something to that account. Low and behold that was my issue that I had dealt with my entire life. I thought having an itchy butthole was just a way of life. Turns out I was very allergic to tide and other artificial scent. Now that I've stayed away, the scent seems overpowering, it gives me a headache and makes my eyes water, and my skin itches just by being touched by somebody elses clothes. There is no way this is good for anybody, even if you don't react.
@@godowskygodowsky1155 Yes, that's true. Funny thing is, when I go to my doctor with a question he's not totally sure of... Right in front of me he'll ask Google 😂😂🤣.
She probably recently got a new washing machine which might have caused the chemical to linger in the clothes, due to washers having gone to Low Water. Thus with lower water, the clothes are not being properly rinsed to get rid of the chemicals used in the wash.
I have serious skin sensitivity issues. I only use baking soda, & vinegar in my laundry, & an extra rinse when I think it's needed. Since I've been doing this over the past ten years I haven't been having serious skin reactions from detergents, fabrics, etc. One cup of each, & it's cheaper.
Please, exactly how do you do this? I need to know…I get very sick using laundry soap with synthetic fragrances, and I can no longer find fragrance-free laundry soap where I live 👀
Ive started using the extra rinse cycle after noticing that some of my clothes would have a bit of detergent residue on them. I do this along with using less of the detergent each time. Ive noticed that my laundry feels cleaner and softer that way.
I had a slight reaction to scented laundry detergent back when I was a kid, I got hives and my back constantly itched until my mom realized that I needed hypoallergenic detergent and dryer sheets. Thankfully it was a slight allergy and I've grown out of it.
Ever since I've got guinea pigs i've been careful with detergent. They didn't get anything wrong, I've read their nose is sensitive and my clothes always smelled of detergent. For the past two years I've went from one whole cap of liquid detergent to a quarter
If a person has a question about if they need a doctor, _go to a doctor!_ That's what they're there for! And if you've been to this doctor before, they will have your history. Write down the history of your complaint, when it started, what seemed to go wrong, and anything else that happened. Bring that with you along with a list of medicines, supplements, and herbal stuff if that applies. Wishing everyone good health.
I remember the last time I visited an American hospital. All I did was walk in the door, fill out paperwork, & get a cup of water from the water cooler. The sent me a bill for $325.
Plus a lot of times they end up misdiagnosing you... and yes not everybody has the money/insurance. If you can just go to a doctor without worrying about how your going to pay thats a privilege that not everyone has. but honestly too your just lucky if they didn't mess something up and seriously mess you up like they did with my spine. Also, one time my 6 year old son went to the hospital and had to get blood taken and they forgot to hold his arm down and blood started squirting out so fast when he moved (he's okay now at least but it's just forever burned into my brain). There's a lot more but we'd be here forever.
OMG ive been having this skin irritation on one side of inner thigh but not the other side. Ive been getting corticosteroid cream on the skin but it would not go away. I dont have severe pain like this lady but do have irritation especially at night that interrupts my sleep. After watching this video, i looked up the condition and OMG THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE.i looked at so many pics and read all about it and it 100% describes my symptoms. Im gonna rinse my clothes extra well and change my laundry detergent to see if it helps. Thank you SO SO much for making this video.
I was washing my hands with machine washing powder, then i found that it's quite effective to use in the place of soap while showering, then I'd start getting a severe skin sensitivity, i even got dizzy and felt extremely sick, i eventually figured out that its the washing powder, just as well, I'd have kept using it might've gotten much much worse
I'm allergic to laundry detergent, perfume, & hairspray. If I'm walking in the neighborhood & pass a house doing laundry, I break out in hives. I cannot go down the cleaning product isle in grocery stores. I recommend skin-grade tea tree oil (Jason's) for soothing contact dermatitis hives. Works way better than hydrocortisone cream. Also good for mosquito & flea bites. Don't use it on your pets.
How do you do laundry? I’ve learned to wash my hair with baking soda and vinegar, and found a “clean” bath soap, but laundry I haven’t figured out yet…
My mom uses those "Unstoppables" pellets in her laundry. They look like soap shavings or tiny soap pellets. She also recently bought a new washing machine that may not use as much water as older models did. Fortunately I see her 3 times a week so if she ever complains about rashes I now know what she should stop using first.
That part where she looked for help online because she's embarrassed to go to the doctor. I think it's funny how she was embarrassed to tell the doctor about her problem, but not embarrassed to put it *online!*
Try this experiment. Run your washer with no laundry or soap. If you see soapy water, then you know that rinse cycle needs more water or wash clothing with no soap, once in a while.
If you are so worried about germs use HIGHER TEMPERATURES and wash your clothes people….use the highest setting for heating on tablecloths/towels/bed sheets and at least 40C for your regular clothes….also use Less detergent and dont use quick washes, because those can really Affect your skin as most washers use only one rinse wich is not nearly enough for your clothes to be rinsed trough .Also use powder for your whites and liquid detergent for coloureds and darks, and NEVER overdose your detergent…cant belive ITS 2023 and people still dont know how to do laundry or how often They should
This video deserves a double thumbs up - this may actually explain some rashes my wife has - she actually has a affinity to use a lot of those washing detergents or whatever, that might not be so good for health, and actually causing allergies. Thanks @Brew ! 👍👍👍
During Covid I had a horrible acne outbreak because I was required to wear a mask for most of the day. No matter what I did over the counters were not cutting it. A few trips to the Dermatologist made it a lot better. However, some say Dermatologist are not "real doctors", I will fight against that notion with all my being.
Because I recently broke something I stayed with my parents for a couple of weeks. I knew it the moment I put on underwear my mom washed for me. It's so itchy. She uses a freshner with the laundry and my nether regions were the first to notify me of that fact. Shirts and pants came a little later.
I have had over sensitive skin all my life. Only time I've felt ok and not just using plane water. Is when I use just a bit of dawn dish soap and baking soda. A couple tablespoons of vinegar for rinse cycle works even better never had irritating skin problems since
I checked my Dettol bar soap that I love right away and it lists all the ingredients and I don't think it contains it, pfew. Though other sprays from that brand do. I use the bar soap to wash my whole body and while I can react to many soaps with itching this one leaves me smelling good longer and doesn't cause any irritation. I did have to change laundry detergent once , that I had been using almost my whole life as I was getting itchy legs, it seems you can always start to get more sensitive to things you have been using for a long time. I use an extra rinse cycle on my laundry anyway, no extra antisceptics. I though hot water and soap kills like 99% of germs anyway and then you heat and dry it in a dryer. But my wash cycle is much longer than many U.S machines, maybe it makes a difference.
That’s the flaw with most HE washers, you have to run them through several rinses to be sure everything is all rinsed out or else clothes will smell like detergent and will be itchy and this is coming from someone who doesn’t have extremely sensitive skin. Ever since I stopped using HE machines, noticed my clothes felt softer and felt and smelled more cleaned as well.
I developed a very itchy and painful rash which I thought was a yeast infection. However, I found out I developed an allergy to laundry detergent. I use the free and clear stuff now-only 1 pod per load- and no dryer sheets. No more rash.
This is my life. Shampoo conditioner hand soap laundry detergent. Cleaners at work. I have to wash the things I use at work because they are getting cleaned with something that irritates my skin.
People over sanitizing things is not good. Why do you think that people who work outside and in dirty environments hardly ever get sick? Your immune system needs to be strengthened and constantly assisting it means it doesn't need to work as hard. Your immune system then gets less effective. Not to mention the fact that you are covering yourself in harsh chemicals.
Great information. So many products have bC in them now. Counter cleaners, pump soap, bar soap, Lysol, fabric disinfectants floor cleaners which contain this disinfectant, disinfectant cleaning wipes...since COVID, the manufacturers of cleaners have gone crazy adding it to every product.
Allergic reactions can be weird. My mother loved cantaloupe, then suddenly in her twenties she had a terrible reaction. She can't even eat a fruit salad with the cantaloupe pieces picked out because even a little juice can make her sick.
Top down washer, I do light detergent, less than the recommended, do a second cycle even less detergent, then opt in the extra rinse cycle. The whole reason I started this was just to get stubborn odor out of all clothes and it worked.
Dermatology nurse here: Don’t be embarrassed!!! We see skin literally all day, every day. A ton of different skin conditions thrive in skin folds (groin, armpits, buttocks, etc). It’s not our jobs to judge you or your body.
I had a stubborn rash on my armpit that my doctors couldn't solve. The dermatologist determined it was an unusual form of psoriasis. Luckily, the location and sensitivity wasn't as bad as this story.
What I find incredulous is that she waited to go to the doctor and decided to live with that pain. It could have been so so much worse . That’s insane!!!
Some people have had traumatic experiences at the hands of healthcare professionals unfortunately. I have major medical anxiety, I go if I need to but it isn’t s fun experience
@@jay_deavyon oh I get that. I’ve had 7 surgeries after a work related accident and several failed surgeries at the hands of incompetent doctors that have left me with a 60% permanent partial disability and emotional and physical scars I’ll never get over so I get it, but still. That seemed incredibly painful and any rash that isn’t responding after several attempts could be almost anything and nothing good ya know!? Ike an STD for example? Cancer? I have major PTSD because of my unfortunate medical experiences but I’m aware that as bad as that is there are still times when one must bite the bullet and go see the doctor regardless.
I have severe trust issues, esp with doctors. I handle any ailments on my own too before seeing someone who likely will not know much more than I and be prescribed other toxins. No thanks. This woman was very lucky to get the care she did, imo.
I work in medical, yes please see a doctor when something is wrong. In medical we do see everything and we really don’t judge. Most people in medical just want to help you get better.❤👍
I was going through a similar issue for a long time and know most of the treatments used lol. Ended up mainly being having to replace my bath towel and avoid excess sugar though. I also took dupixent for a year.
Medical knowledge is now huge, so even with years of study and practice, any given doctor or other provider is only proficient in a small percent of the total knowledge. There are processes to get patients to the right specialist, but if possible, often best to see a specialist (although not always straightforward…have seen patients having difficulty swallowing who were referred to a GI doc, only to have the GI doc correctly realize it was a neurological problem).
Water efficiency is a scam. Clothes are nasty after washing. They don't make machines that fill water to like 90% of the baskets anymore . Good era gone.
I was having skin rash and generally suspected the laundy because when I use newly washed laundry from the washing mashine it's itchy and feels rough even if the fabric is smooth. Then I went to the dermatologist and she also said the same thing, wash the laundry with the least additive possible.
When I was a kid I remember a shampoo we used must've changed formulas or something because suddenly it made me get a rash/bumps on my skin going down from my hair. Weird part was it didn't affect my sister who was the one with sensitive skin and always reacting to detergents and soaps etc.
Growing up, my mom always used less detergent than was instructed. I used to think this was just a matter of saving money. But considering how much eczema and general sensitivity to life itself runs in my family, I realise she did this to protect us all. :'D I think products prescribing more usage than necessary is a combination of "the quicker you're out, the more you'll buy" and to make sure nobody can ever claim their product didn't do their job cleaning something. Better tell consumers they gotta use a ton, just in case.
a teaspoon of detergent in any HE washer. YOU DO NOT NEED MORE! These are super highly efficient washers. Also cold water is fine 90% of the time and I highly recommend a second rinse cycle if optional. TEASPOON! TEA! SPOON! TSP! Not a half cap or full cap! Or quarter cap! NO CAP! NO TENGO CAP! Think of it as a drizzle.
I am alergic even to baby products, but it is OK ever since I use Persil with the added softener, so the water will wash away anything on the surface in the last cycle without softener.
Never be embarrassed to go and see a Dr, for anything. They've seen it all before. I'm a shy person, but if I need to see a Dr for something "downstairs" I will. Just go and get treated, believe me they really won't give it a second thought. Edit: What was that pronunciation of eczema? It's pronounced ek-suh-muh or eg-suh-muh.
I use Ecover non bio laundry liquid and nothing else - no softeners, no added anything, and I do use soda hot washes sometimes to make the machine smell better. along with using a washing machine cleaning product recommended by the store. So far so good. I'd not heard of this and will definitely be more aware in future.
It’s sometimes annoying that everyone has to see a GP first and get referrals before seeing a specialist here! Why can’t we just go directly to the specialist. Most of the time the GP doesn’t know.
I'm always confused by people who claim to have "sensitive skin" who still use new products without a huge amount of caution and only when absolutely necessary. I would never DREAM of using a wet wipe on my skin unless I absolutely had no other option. And that's just because of roughness and alcohol. Fabric softeners, anything perfumed, unfamiliar detergents and using too much detergent are also complete no-nos, you don't need it. I hope that gives people with genuinely sensitive skin a place to start!
I don’t know why avoid the doctor if you have an issue that’s just in a private region? It’s still not as an invasive visit as having a gynecological appointment!
I use a lot of chemicals in my home and have NEVER reacted to anything. Ever. It’s absolutely true that you could develop a sensitivity or even an allergy, but I wouldn’t let stories like this scare you away from continue using the products you like. As long as you feel fine, it’s all ok.
Oh my, I have been using Dettol antibacterial laundry cleanser for a bit (it does contain benzalkonium chloride), as since the pandemic, I have been more cautious about germs, but may reconsider using additives altogether, thank you for sharing the information!
2:00 the tub of moisturiser just says "moist". Which made me laugh. Cos I'm immature. 🤣🤷🏻♀️ Edit: I'll never understand how people are too embarrassed to see a doctor but aren't too embarrassed to tell complete strangers. The people online will only tell her to see a doctor cos they have no clue anyways. Edit no.2: My answer to the poll. If I had to watch one show in the hospital for 13 years it wouldn't be any of them. It would be Steven Universe or something I actually enjoy. I have mental health I can just rewatch the same shows I'd like over and over and not get bored. But if I was to watch any of the shows in the poll I would become depressed and bored.
Won't go to her doctor who knows her medical history, yet is happy to talk to strangers online. I would be more embarrassed discussing private medical problems online.

Because as one ages, the moisture barrier and skin becomes thinner.. so the effect of the laundry detergent became more evident
It's those later developing allergies that throw us off. You keep looking for any NEW things in your environment, not realizing that it's something you've been using for years.
It's also possible the manufacturer decided to change the recipe, you never know
It's possible that the manufacturer changed the ingredients for cheaper variants that are also more likely to cause irritation.
Most households still do that here, and yeah skin conditions caused by detergent are pretty rare here. It takes a lot of time and energy though
I'd never heard of a hygienic wash until I watched this video.
In short: 'Too much good stuff is poisonous for you.'
Thanks
also "stuff you think is good isn't even necessarily that good, or even good at all"
I always use a liquid baby detergent, and run a second rinse. I have very sensitive skin, and this has always worked for me.
What's most amazing about that story is how she got an appointment in such a short time.. 😂
It's an emergency dude 😑
Here in Germany, from my and my relatives and friends experiences, you will also get a same day appointment if you are in pain (and communicate that; The person on the phone can't read minds).
Countries with universal healthcare are like that.
Everyone else was too scared to go to the doctor too.
@Luiz super fast? Right, took me a month to get an appointment with a dermatologist here in the US.
Allergy symptoms can include an itchy but-hole, confirmed!
Please, if you think something is wrong with your body, contact a medical doctor ASAP!
Most doctors have no clue about this stuff 😥

If you can afford it. She's in Australia it costs around $100 for a 15min visit. That's too expensive for most
She probably recently got a new washing machine which might have caused the chemical to linger in the clothes, due to washers having gone to Low Water.
Exactly what I've used for the last 25 yrs. I can't stand laundry detergent scents or most other scents.
@@Karenpayne47fill your washer with water and dump in the baking soda then pour in the vinegar.
@@JCcreates927 thank you…how much do you use?
Doctors have seen so much that they don't really care. Your embarrassment is not worth your health or death.
Ive started using the extra rinse cycle after noticing that some of my clothes would have a bit of detergent residue on them. I do this along with using less of the detergent each time. Ive noticed that my laundry feels cleaner and softer that way.
☝👍
Doctors? You mean, those guys in the black robes, wearing those masks with the long beaks?

Yay, my habit to run an extra rinse cycle has been legitimised 😂
@@Karenpayne47we use things like Tide Free & Clear - dye and scent free
If you are so worried about germs use HIGHER TEMPERATURES and wash your clothes people….use the highest setting for heating on tablecloths/towels/bed sheets and at least 40C for your regular clothes….also use Less detergent and dont use quick washes, because those can really Affect your skin as most washers use only one rinse wich is not nearly enough for your clothes to be rinsed trough .Also use powder for your whites and liquid detergent for coloureds and darks, and NEVER overdose your detergent…cant belive ITS 2023 and people still dont know how to do laundry or how often They should
That explains why my eczema has been flaring up for the past few years. We got a high efficiency washer
Not me throwing three tide pods and a cap full of scent beads in the wash
I always learn something new from every single of Brew's videos
I think its amazing she got an appointment on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON. lol where at?
I developed a very itchy and painful rash which I thought was a yeast infection. However, I found out I developed an allergy to laundry detergent. I use the free and clear stuff now-only 1 pod per load- and no dryer sheets. No more rash.
Does anyone know why they stopped putting the little in animations of Brew in the stories? I kind of miss them.
This is my life. Shampoo conditioner hand soap laundry detergent. Cleaners at work. I have to wash the things I use at work because they are getting cleaned with something that irritates my skin.
Your workplace should be providing gloves/protection ,so that you may be better able to function and have less reactions
This is why harsh chemicals are banned in this house 😂
Awesome video 🎉
People over sanitizing things is not good. Why do you think that people who work outside and in dirty environments hardly ever get sick? Your immune system needs to be strengthened and constantly assisting it means it doesn't need to work as hard. Your immune system then gets less effective. Not to mention the fact that you are covering yourself in harsh chemicals.
Imagine putting your life in danger due to being embarrassed
The irony that she lived 5min to the dermatologist
Great information. So many products have bC in them now. Counter cleaners, pump soap, bar soap, Lysol, fabric disinfectants floor cleaners which contain this disinfectant, disinfectant cleaning wipes...since COVID, the manufacturers of cleaners have gone crazy adding it to every product.
Allergic reactions can be weird. My mother loved cantaloupe, then suddenly in her twenties she had a terrible reaction. She can't even eat a fruit salad with the cantaloupe pieces picked out because even a little juice can make her sick.
Seems odd, but allergy to melons is quite common. They seem so mild. I think I developed an allergy to shrimp I didn't have before.
I get a rash in my armpits if I use the wrong type of deodorant. It has to be SURE's original solid, or I can't use it.
For not mentioning that the wrong medication can exacerbate the problem. Steroids will worsen an infection for example
@stevenuniverse1422 Or they feel like it would waste their own time for a minor issue.
So glad I'm subscribed to Brew. It's actually my favourite channel!
I was going through a similar issue for a long time and know most of the treatments used lol. Ended up mainly being having to replace my bath towel and avoid excess sugar though.
I also took dupixent for a year.
Costco has great towels (bathmats too) should you want a decent priced towel that feels great. 😊
I always use the "water plus" function on my washing machine. Modern washing machines just don't use enough water!
Water efficiency is a scam. Clothes are nasty after washing. They don't make machines that fill water to like 90% of the baskets anymore . Good era gone.
We use vinegar mixed with water and a few drops of aromatic oils.
As someone with eczema, I only use vinegar for pre-wash, and always use an extra rinse.
Growing up, my mom always used less detergent than was instructed. I used to think this was just a matter of saving money. But considering how much eczema and general sensitivity to life itself runs in my family, I realise she did this to protect us all. :'D
I think products prescribing more usage than necessary is a combination of "the quicker you're out, the more you'll buy" and to make sure nobody can ever claim their product didn't do their job cleaning something. Better tell consumers they gotta use a ton, just in case.
Ah yes. The bottom of the situation.
a teaspoon of detergent in any HE washer.
“Brew threw a cup of coffee in a washing machine, months later Humanity is took down”
Ya want an antiseptic for the laundry, try vinigar. Disinfects AND softens
I am alergic even to baby products, but it is OK ever since I use Persil with the added softener, so the water will wash away anything on the surface in the last cycle without softener.

Ok but what's with that disturbing expression on the dermatologist while looking at the rash lol
Man, I had something like that, due to the product I used to wash my clothes on the machine it's awful
Oh I had this once and I now know why the dermatologist told me to use different soap

I use Ecover non bio laundry liquid and nothing else - no softeners, no added anything, and I do use soda hot washes sometimes to make the machine smell better. along with using a washing machine cleaning product recommended by the store. So far so good. I'd not heard of this and will definitely be more aware in future.
Anytime I’ve had mysterious issues out of the blue. I change EVERYTHING. Including food.
i dont use additives in my laundry, but this is kinda why i do it by hand, to make sure its completely and properly rinsed
It’s sometimes annoying that everyone has to see a GP first and get referrals before seeing a specialist here! Why can’t we just go directly to the specialist. Most of the time the GP doesn’t know.
I was in the hospital for 996 days. House and ER were the 2 shows i watched over and over.
Up. My mom became allergic to most fabric softener during the lock down years. I think a lot of companies switched to cheaper ingredients to cut cost.
She didn't want to go to the doctor for fear of embarrassment but she had no problem talking to strangers on the Internet? Math ain't mathing.

I always use an extra rinse cycle.
Wash hot, rinse warm - twice. Chemical reactivity is reliant on heat. Driving chemicals into solution is reliant on heat.

Edit: I'll never understand how people are too embarrassed to see a doctor but aren't too embarrassed to tell complete strangers.

You don' t need antiseptic detergents. Get the appropriate clothing materials and wash at 60°C/140°F.
So the best thing is to use less soap and keep your washer clean. Baking soda might be the best laundry soap for irritated skin.
