I indicated on my DS-160 form that I traveled on May 27,2016, the accurate date of travel is May 23,2016. I want know whether this mistake would be considered a minor error or if it might have any material implications for my application or process?
This is likely a minor error, but you should reach out to the Embassy or Consulate where you plan to interview to ask if you might be able to submit a new DS-160 form before your interview. It's always best to have accurate information in front of the Visa Officer without need for explanation.

My question is with DS160 for F1 visa- Facing issue with DS 160. Earlier in December 2023 I registered on DS 160 which is not accessible anymore. Hence I had to create new application after securing the visa slot. Now my visa appointment has old application number and embassy is not accepting request to update the new application number in my appointment. What could be done in this? I have new DS160 confirmation page and old application number since I didn’t submit the old application. I look forward to your response.
If the Embassy won't let you change the Application ID Number, you'll need to schedule a new interview with your new Application ID. Otherwise, the Visa Officer will look at your old DS-160 when you go in for this interview.

Hello. I made a mistake of uploading a passport size photo instead of 2x2 size. I used the photo cropping tool to make it 2x2 but turns out when I submitted the ds160 the photo uploaded was the same original passport size photo that was not cropped. I already have appointment scheduled next month. I read elsewhere to bring a 2x2 physical photo in the appointment so they can use that instead or is there something else I can do to amend it? sir. i have a question i am going to study 2 major in my undergrad and in my ds 160 should I write both of them in my course of study for e.g bachelor in computer science with cybersecurity or just I can write bachelor in computer science. additionally, i have also submitted ds 160 2 times will it affect my visa interview? actually i am from nepal so i can change DS conformation number in cgi portal .

I have a question regarding this. Would it be a lie if I mention my 'intended length of stay in US' on DS 160 2 years and 4 months if my actual Master's duration according to the Program website is 3 years? My masters is 3 years long but my I-20 has an end date which ends 8 months earlier than the actual end date of the program. My university says they can't update my I-20 since this is a standard template that they use for all master's programs.
You should note the true duration of your program on your DS-160, and you should continue working with your school to update your I-20 with the correct dates so you don't encounter any issues with your visa status.

You might be able to, but the better option would be to submit a new DS-160 for a B1/B2 visa. This may require you to schedule a new interview, so first, contact the Embassy or Consulate where you plan to apply to see what their policies are.

Hi! I accidentally answered the birthplace question with my address in the US when I filed. I've already created a profile and paid the visa fee. I'm eligible for the dropoff service in Taiwan, so I was planning on just using that instead of interviewing. You should absolutely try to submit a new DS-160 form with the correct details. Reach out to the Consulate to make sure they'll allow you to change your Application ID Number from the new DS-160 before you submit your documents.

Hi! Quick Question. For the K1 Visa, we have filled out the DS160, paid the fee and went to book the appointment but it keeps saying there are no appointments available. I emailed the embassy and they just said keep checking. We've been checking back every day for weeks at different times of the day (Bangkok embassy) but there is no change there. Is this normal? What should we do and is there a certain time of the day that is better than others? Thanks!
Unfortunately there’s not much you can do, other than keep checking. You might also ask if you could qualify for an expedited appointment.

The best thing to do is submit a new DS-160 with the correct information, but before you do anything, reach out tot he Embassy or Consulate where you plan to interview, and see what options you might have.

You can submit a new DS-160 at any time (we recommend that you do so as soon as possible). Make sure you reference the Application ID Number from the new DS-160 Form when you schedule your interview.
Hello sir, please I submitted my D160 and booked an appointment without paying the fee. I later found a mistake on the form and filled out a new D160 form, cancelled my old appointment and booked for a new appointment using the new D160 application ID. The process went through and I got a confirmation email. Please after few days i tried to confirm again my new appointment date using my credentials and confirmation code, but it keeps showing on my laptop that, you don't have any appointment.

Not if you update your Applicant ID number with the Embassy/Consulate (from your new DS-160).

Actually after getting my I20 I got better offer from same bank in term of interest rate. So I have accepted the current offer of my bank but that information is not shared to my university.... Can I inform them and get the change done form my university in my I20 in term of my laon amount or doesn't need to do that?
It's always best to have an I-20 that most accurately reflects your situation, so you should reach out to your school and ask that they revise your I-20 form.

dear sir,I was interviewed in us embassy in korea and I got approved. 221g or other papers was not given by the officer but after 4days of the interview they called by phone to send DS5537 form by mail and I checked the visa status and it shows refused. How long do I have to wait to get visa like my case.

Don't worry - you should just be able to let the Visa Officer know that you traveled to Canada since you submitted your DS-160 form.

You should be able to explain this discrepancy during your interview. Travel dates do sometimes change, and that doesn't always mean that you need to fill out and submit a new DS-160 form.

If we've already submitted the DS-160 with our intended travel dates, but the earliest available appointment dates are months away, what should we do? When I applied for the US visa last year, I provided the address of a friend who was living in Florida. Currently, she has temporarily moved to India. My interview is scheduled for July 24th. What should I say if they ask about this? I am currently living in Vancouver on a work permit, and my purpose for the visa application is to visit some places in the USA. I gave that address because I had planned to visit her at that time.
Focus on your intended travel plans, and if asked about your friend, just be honest about her move back home. Best of luck!

I recently got my F1 Visa Approved (via Dropbox) and delivered to my residence. Upon receiving the visa, I realised that I had initially made a mistake in my Ds-160. Wherein I selected my marital status as Single instead of Married.
I am worried about the future visa complications this issue may produce for my wife and I.

Since I already have my visa on hand, and the data printed is all accurate, I don't see the use for the consulate to retake my passport and give me a new stamp.

Hi sir, my C1/D visa interview is on 30th april in chennai embassy in india. Sir, when i filled my DS160 FORM at that time i was allotted Crude oil carrier and i have put Front Silkeborg vessel name and it's IMO no. in DS160 FORM. but now sir before 1 week of interview my vessel has been changed to LPG tanker with vessel name Aelion pearl. and also it's written on my company joining letter. Sir, I am in confusion what to do now what if US consulate see different vessel in DS160 and in Joining letter. @@ZFvisa Sir, if I let them know during the interview if they ask me about this that will be better because now I can't retrieve my application because I've submitted past one month it's been over a month now. If I let them know during the interview that would be fine I think because vessel can get change anytime. I also asked my shipping company about it they are telling me not to worry about it vessel can get change it's normal.

Hello sir i am an indian expat living in dubai uae from last 25 yrs. We are a family of four and applied for ds160 fornthe first time in june of 2022 and we got the appointment in may of 2023. However just before the appointment we received an email stating that our appointments stand cancelled. We got no explanation until we found an email n started cordinating also resent the required documents again and we received an email.to reschedule the appointment which we got of november 2024. After a couple of weeks we got an email stating to select earlier appointment but we could change that only once. Now in this whole process my daughter's passport got expired. Also as our interview appointments are next month i retrieved the confirmation page and realised that my old application ds no which i had created in 2022 was given to my husband's application and i got another one which was obviously invalid. The email with rescheduled appointments showed another ds 160. So new ds does not match with old ds. Out of 4 applications only mine and my husband's ds numbers changed but my both children's numbers are correct except a new passport number to be updated. From customer support we were asked to start new ds 160 applications and update the passport numbers as well as new ds numbers updated which again we can do only once.
I have now got the new ds160 numbers changed.
I am yet to submit my reviewd applications i hope we dont face any other issue after 2 year of long wait!!

I emailed my wife and children's DS-160 confirmation pages to embassy.
I found few mistakes in my wife's DS-160 form. The 1st mistake: Have you traveled to any countries within last five years I put "no" in the original DS-160 which in fact we have come to Pakistan as third country for consular processing of our parole cases. So i corrected it to "yes" and I put Pakistan in there.

You did the right thing by submitting new, correct DS-160s. If you scheduled your interview through an online portal, you may be able to update your Application ID Numbers there before your interview.
My interview will be scheduled by embassy. I emailed corrected DS-160 confirmation pages to embassy but I haven't received any response whether they have update my DS-160 Confirmation pages.

My visa was rejected in the DS160 form 2 years ago, I am applying for a visa again. The questions in the DS160 form should be the same as in the old DS160 form. Your officer may review your previous responses from your last interview. If there are any differences, be prepared to discuss them.

Hi Sir thanks for the video. After submitting the DS 160 we discovered the city of birth asked when the filling the DS 160 form is actually place of birth. Here we understand City of birth as the bigger City cuz we have sub-clans/ tribes. So when filling the DS160 my friend filled her city of birth instead of her Place of birth and she has her interview in 6days pls advise on what to do please. Thanks 🙏

Hi, forgot to add my travel history in ds 160 form , I went to my home country from Canada and I have already edited and submitted it once, should I edit again to complete travel info? What to do?
It's always best to re-do the form so all of your details are accurately presented. If you haven't already scheduled your visa interview, resubmit the form, and use that Application ID to schedule your interview. If you have already scheduled your interview, reach out to the Embassy or Consulate where you plan to apply to see what your options might be.
Sir, for any changes in ds160 after scheduling appointment, the U.S. Visa Service Desk is saying to bring both the original ds160 form and new ds160 with different application number. Below is their reply -
If your appointment was booked prior to November 15, 2023, you may proceed with your appointment to the VAC or document drop-off location with your corrected DS-160 confirmation page.
If your appointment was booked on or after November 15, 2023, you must bring the original DS-160 confirmation page you have used to schedule your appointment AND the corrected DS-160 confirmation page to the VAC or document drop-off location on the day of your appointment. If you are unable to bring your original DS-160 confirmation page and your corrected DS-160 confirmation page, you must cancel and reschedule your appointment by entering your corrected DS-160 application number.
Some Embassies and Consulates have implemented policies like this if the wait time to schedule a visa interview goes beyond 1 year. Best to follow this advice!

Visa officer give importance to ds 160 for making decisions of visa or they also look on i20 for giving their decision for perticular person
They will look at both. The DS-160 is particularly important, as it is the applicant's opportunity to be 100% truthful about their situation, but it's also important that the I-20 be correct, so be sure to review both!

My sister has a US Citizen, but she is staying in Qatar with a permanent resident visa since 12 years. In DS-160 form I answered by mistake the question of “ do you have any immediate relatives in the US with “yes” answer .
I did a new DS-160 form and I’ve changed the answer of the same question with “No”.
I’m wondering if the officer ask me during the interview about relatives in US, the suitable answer should be “No” with explanation about my sister current status or “No” only without any explanation ?
Kindly note that this is my first interview, and there is no a prior refusal.

You should be able to access the DS-160 online with your Application ID number.
How can crosscheck my given data? Whenever i tried it create another id,,,u said it could be the reason of denial

I did change of name after my undergraduate studies. This means that the name on my certificate and transcript is different from the current name i am using on my passport. I have an affidavit and gazette to prove that, how will it affect my visa interview?
