At this point they have 4 albums, some singles and EPs and also 4 official live DVD/Blu-ray releases. They just finished their Japan tour. This video is taken from their comeback show in march 2023. Their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami. They’ve already toured in Europe back in 2018/2019, including the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. Then came Covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band, two babies were born. Then LOVEBITES came back with new bassist and new song in late 2022. New album came out in February 2023. Just because they are relatively unknown globally does not mean they aren't one of the greatest metal bands ever. I've been listening to metal since I heard Zeppelin in 1971, and for my money they are the greatest metal band ever.
Don't be ridiculous.You people are so trigger-happy Internet Impulse men. they got 4 albums, which are all extremely high Quality, but maiden and Metallica have at least 8 albumss stacked with exactly the same quality and people who listened to them when they 1st emerged felt the same way about them than people do about lovebites now They also built on what's already been provided, which means it's impossible for them to be conssidered the greatest, they would literally have to do double the albums of the Same quality, because their foundations were set by the trailblazers e.g. maiden

You were so obviously stunned…which is a pretty standard response to hearing the best band ever to grace a stage. No, I’m not joking. I saw Maiden with Paul DiAnno, AC/DC with Bon Scott and Zeppelin at Knebworth (and many more). Great bands, great musicians. But LOVEBITES bring much much more to the table, and are a musical breath of fresh air yet humble and very appreciative of their fan base.
No, they don't.. They have built on What came before them, but you are definitely looking At this impulsively with rose coloured glasses. The experience when Listening to maiden and Metallica back in the day was just as explosive and awesome, and it happpened for twice as long. There is no weak song by Lovebites available on YT because they have none. I recommend all of them. Yes, all of them. More Japanese female hard rock/heavy metal bands? In Japan, band activities have been active (mostly to attract women) since The Beatles came to Japan about 50 years ago, and have continued unchanged to the present day. There are also many female bands, including SHOW-YA, which was formed in 1981 and still continues to tour live. LOVEBITES is one of the most notable among them, featuring outstanding performance skills and musical sensibility, Asami (vocalist) who has an unusual background as a former ballet dancer and R&B/Jazz singer, and a white feminine stage costume that seems to be fighting against the stereotype of heavy metal.
IMO the best metal band today. The 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) are elite. Trust me,you ain't seen nothing yet. Keep it going they all are incredible musicians as are Asami's vocals
Personally, I don't think they have a bad song and most of their songs are very fast paced. However, I love their live versions of songs. They sound very similar to most of the studio versions plus you get to see them play. so I prefer the live versions. That being said, the studio video for this song is so good, it's one of the few times I might like it better than the live version.
IRON MAIDEN feels indeed, my life band now has a worthy successor. LOVEBITES is the new gold standard for heavy metal and the tourch is in good hands going forward. 🤘🐺🤘

@@kazhannah This list is kind of an overview of their catalogue. With any of these, you can't go wrong. There are only very good songs or masterpieces, no fillers, not a single bad song. Which song to choose, depends on taste, but usually, the current song is the best (sounds funny, but it's true). You've mentioned "Aces High", as already mentioned, there is a lesser played song called "The Crusade", which was written as an homage. Live is almost always better. The new songs were written and performed after a two year hiatus (due to Covid-19 and the departure of their bassist and band leader for personal reasons), which means, they've further improved and are full of new energy and motivation now. The most live performances are from live albums in the year 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023, respectively. There's also footage from Wacken W-O-A 2018 and Bloodstock B-O-A 2018 (not so good quality). "Holy War" is the first song by LOVEBITES for most listeners (well, you've already heard "Judgement Day"), and the next congs on this list are no-brainers. "Set The World On Fire", "Break The Wall", "Raise Some Hell", "Thunder Vengeance", etc. are a little thrashier. The "E" songs "Edge Of The World", "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream" are more mellow (in parts)... Choose any, and you can't go wrong, but expect the unexpected!

Some people say that they’re the best metal band in decades (male or female), and I agree. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Megadeth, Angra, Helloween, Yngwie Malmsteen, Deep Purple, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. My next recommendations are “Hammer of wrath” (2023 version), “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Shadowmaker” (all live) Lovebites, Band-Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Asterism, D_Drive, Gacharin Spin, Show-Ya, Galneryus, Versailles, Mardelas, Fate gear, Bridear, Unlucky Morpheus, Aldious, Whisky dust, Wagakki band, Lonesome blue, Hagane, East of eden, etc. Some people say that rock is not dead, it just moved to Japan. Buckle up folks, you aint seen nothing yet! 😅 Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is a musical prodigy, a virtuoso on both guitar and piano. Also composes a lot of their material. For a look at their older songs (with their original bassist Miho) , I recommend Empty Daydream, which includes some nice vocal harmonies. btw, are you based in Sydney?
Guys, you have just come across the most exciting band of this genre with their own spin since the 1980s! My first band live of this type was Motorhead followed by Judas Priest in 1981 and seeing lovebites perform as they do brings me right back to then! Next year (2024) for me Lovebites will explode onto the world stage proper and wipe all before them. By the way don't be crackin' the shits guys when you are trolled by extreme lovebites fan base ( they like to intimidate if you don't treat the band with respect). Do your own thing guys. Iron Maiden is an obvious inspiration to this band and the singer, Asami, sings with a similar technique which makes the comparison more obvious perhaps. But you'll find songs that remind you of Testament, Metallica, Judas Priest etc, but always with their own twist and often dual guitar solos and harmonized parts. They took the best of the 80s and brought it to the 2020s... I hope to see more reactions from you guys. For Lovebites, choose live as much as possible, they are at their best live.
They actually have a song that sounds a lot like Aces High. It’s called The Crusade. Asami has been called the female Bruce Dickinson because of her vibrato.
Great reaction! Lovebites is my bright sunshine between clouds. Lovebites made me feel like listening to rock music again after I felt many songs are like remake or repetition. I recommend Swan song, live as that is the only song that any other big musicians can create and perform, but Lovebites.

So you’re really missing the essential of LOVEBITES music. I would almost say, you haven’t heard the song (like it is supposed to be) with only one ear phone …
Yes, you are absolutely right with your Iron Maiden comparison. I sensed that, too, but could not "put my finder on it". Asami's (singer) voice & vocal techniques are already compared to those of Bruce Dickinson. She also has an amazing stage presence, loves to interact with the audience, and likes to be happy and have fun on stage. If you like to hear more Iron-Maiden-like songs from Lovebites, then listen to "Golden Destination", "Wicked Witch" and "My Orion" (the latter sounding like "Rainmaker" to me). Another all-female "killer" band from Japan in terms of Metal is "Nemophila". Lovebites is maybe more "arty", Nemophila maybe is more "punky". Listening to Iron Maiden, Lovebites and Nemophila, I am in Metal heaven. 😁

In Japan, band activities have been active (mostly to attract women) since The Beatles came to Japan about 50 years ago, and have continued unchanged to the present day.
There are also many female bands, including SHOW-YA, which was formed in 1981 and still continues to tour live.
LOVEBITES is one of the most notable among them, featuring outstanding performance skills and musical sensibility, Asami (vocalist) who has an unusual background as a former ballet dancer and R&B/Jazz singer, and a white feminine stage costume that seems to be fighting against the stereotype of heavy metal.

Personally, I don't think they have a bad song and most of their songs are very fast paced. However, I love their live versions of songs. They sound very similar to most of the studio versions plus you get to see them play. so I prefer the live versions. That being said, the studio video for this song is so good, it's one of the few times I might like it better than the live version.

@@kazhannah This list is kind of an overview of their catalogue. With any of these, you can't go wrong. There are only very good songs or masterpieces, no fillers, not a single bad song. Which song to choose, depends on taste, but usually, the current song is the best (sounds funny, but it's true). You've mentioned "Aces High", as already mentioned, there is a lesser played song called "The Crusade", which was written as an homage. Live is almost always better. The new songs were written and performed after a two year hiatus (due to Covid-19 and the departure of their bassist and band leader for personal reasons), which means, they've further improved and are full of new energy and motivation now. The most live performances are from live albums in the year 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023, respectively. There's also footage from Wacken W-O-A 2018 and Bloodstock B-O-A 2018 (not so good quality). "Holy War" is the first song by LOVEBITES for most listeners (well, you've already heard "Judgement Day"), and the next congs on this list are no-brainers. "Set The World On Fire", "Break The Wall", "Raise Some Hell", "Thunder Vengeance", etc. are a little thrashier. The "E" songs "Edge Of The World", "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream" are more mellow (in parts)... Choose any, and you can't go wrong, but expect the unexpected!

Well, welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Their live performances are outstanding. Some people say that they’re the best metal band in decades (male or female), and I agree. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, Megadeth, Angra, Helloween, Yngwie Malmsteen, Deep Purple, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style.
My next recommendations are “Hammer of wrath” (2023 version), “Set the world on fire”, “Break the wall”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Shadowmaker” (all live)

Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is a musical prodigy, a virtuoso on both guitar and piano. Also composes a lot of their material. For a look at their older songs (with their original bassist Miho) , I recommend Empty Daydream, which includes some nice vocal harmonies.

Guys, you have just come across the most exciting band of this genre with their own spin since the 1980s! My first band live of this type was Motorhead followed by Judas Priest in 1981 and seeing lovebites perform as they do brings me right back to then! Next year (2024) for me Lovebites will explode onto the world stage proper and wipe all before them. By the way don't be crackin' the shits guys when you are trolled by extreme lovebites fan base ( they like to intimidate if you don't treat the band with respect). Do your own thing guys. Iron Maiden is an obvious inspiration to this band and the singer, Asami, sings with a similar technique which makes the comparison more obvious perhaps. But you'll find songs that remind you of Testament, Metallica, Judas Priest etc, but always with their own twist and often dual guitar solos and harmonized parts. They took the best of the 80s and brought it to the 2020s...
I hope to see more reactions from you guys. For Lovebites, choose live as much as possible, they are at their best live.

So you’re really missing the essential of LOVEBITES music. I would almost say, you haven’t heard the song (like it is supposed to be) with only one ear phone …

Yes, you are absolutely right with your Iron Maiden comparison. I sensed that, too, but could not "put my finder on it". Asami's (singer) voice & vocal techniques are already compared to those of Bruce Dickinson. She also has an amazing stage presence, loves to interact with the audience, and likes to be happy and have fun on stage.
If you like to hear more Iron-Maiden-like songs from Lovebites, then listen to "Golden Destination", "Wicked Witch" and "My Orion" (the latter sounding like "Rainmaker" to me).
Another all-female "killer" band from Japan in terms of Metal is "Nemophila". Lovebites is maybe more "arty", Nemophila maybe is more "punky". Listening to Iron Maiden, Lovebites and Nemophila, I am in Metal heaven. 😁
