The sheer energy, talent, and joy exploding off the stage when they play makes them a favorite for me.
"Knockin' at Heaven's Gate" is the title of the DVD/blu-ray that contains the first concert of Lovebites' comeback tour held on 11 March of this year (2023). The set for this show was 16-songs long (including 1 intro and 2 encores). So the whole concert was nearly 1-half hours long. And yep, most of the tracks were at this speed or faster.
"WE ARE BACK!!!" (Asami)
First performance before an audience after 23 months (April 2021 - March 2023) of a hiatus, due to Covid19 (impacted the concert before that as well) and the leaving of their former bassist and band leader Miho. New bassist Fami (20, now 21yo) was found in an audition and announced in October 2022. 5 month later, she had already performed on their new album (February 2023) and in this first life concert (March 11th, 2023)...
Also, during that same time period, the dark-haired guitarist Miyako & the lead singer Asami.......got married & each had a baby!! 😏❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
@@lonniekramlich6241Miyako (dark haired) was already 4 or 5 months pregnant, when they filmed on March 26th, 2021 (known as live album "Heavy Metal Never Dies"), so even more in April 2021, because these concerts were postponed and restricted due to Covid19. And Midori (blonde) started practicing for her body building and body fitness competitions (2 silver medals until now).
They do, indeed, come in hard and fast. Incredible talent in this group, which is my favorite of the genre. I love the moment near the end where the music drops off for an instant, leaving just the bass to carry to melody through.
Thanks so much for supporting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word. It's kind of usual to be speechless after reacting to them. Their live performances are really outstanding. Some people say that this band is a miracle. Their concerts have a duration of about two hours. My next suggestions are "Thunder vengeance" and "Edge of the world", from the concert "Five of a kind" (Japan, 2020)

And - last but not least - I am so relieved, that Fami (new bassist) has joined Lovebites, that she fits in just perfectly, and that she also seems to be accepted by the fans (The Wolf Pack). Fami is a genius on the bass guitar (in my opinion, I watched her promo videos here on YT), she is a talented artist and producer, full of ideas, and she will give Lovebites an additional dimension of uniqueness.
This was the new bass players first ever concert with the band -she was 20 years old when this was recorded!!! 🤘
Yes, Lovebites formed to stand different from usual typical metal image (black gothic gear & make-up, harsh vocal, dark lyrics). They appeared in white feminism dresses, clean images, melodic vocal with meaningful lyrics. Also white dresses easily spot while on stage. Their talent was undeniable, commitment to stand firm and deliver various genres of metal with intense, heart pounding musicianship. Salute👍🤘😍

You fell for the old Wolfpack bait and switch on the first song😂...Most of their songs are closer to this tempo and intensity, but don't let that scare you, as they are masters of their craft.
Having a contrast (or gap) between their looks and their music is a common trope in Japan and adds a fun aspect to the band. You've already reacted to BAND-MAID which also does this. A genre based on this type of gap is kawaii metal which means cute metal. BABYMETAL is the most famous kawaii metal group.
Part of the reason for the white outfits is to make them stand out, as Asami the vocalist is only 4foot 10inches tall, Haruna the drummer is an inch shorter, Miyako the dark haired guitarist on the right is the tallest at 5foot 1inch

As you seemed to enjoy this I'd recommend " JUDGEMENT DAY " live from the same concert ( rather than the music video ) as your next adventure with Lovebites - but to be honest they don't do " bad " songs so anything will do .

Heavy metal of this intensity was the preserve of ugly men wearing black. It is now owned, lock stock and barrel by beautiful, talented and classy women wearing white, who are the among nicest people the music industry has ever welcomed. I am in the midst of this crowd. Two years of frustration, insecurity and trepidation exploded onto the stage in that moment. That is why Asami-san shouted “we are baaaaack” as the first words out of her mouth. They came back from a veritable abyss stronger, technically superior and hungry. The new bass player (replacing the reason for the uncertainty) was 19 when she auditioned, 20 when she played this show. Some disagree, but I don’t disagree with the words from her own lips. “This was my first show in front of a live audience”. The only clue to this is the immense grin on her face. That grin, by the precious talent that is Fami-san, was returned by Asami-san with one even wider as she stood soloing on the platform. I saw them two nights ago in Sapporo. If Lovebites fans have any worries about her fitting in, her abilities, or her stage craft, banish them now. After only 6 months the band has improved upon what was already improved upon perfection. They are the most talented band you will ever react to, and NO SONG by them will disappoint you, that’s both a promise and a fact. Great reaction. More please.

Lovebites are´t an exception in Japan in the way they dress. You have another band who dress with nice dresses: Aldious.
Also, i don´t remember if was Aldious or Lovebites who say this, but they spend a lot of money in their instruments, so they don´t what to look like you got your clothes from the charity.
Miyako (black hair guitar) just recently buy a new guitar. The price?... 1.375.000 yen (in 48 payments). More than 8700 euro or 9.390 $). It´s really expensive,
Also, they play metal just because... they like it, even when their first choice can be other.
Miyako likes metal, but she is a classical pianist. Asami the singer play for years R&B, new bass Fami also do other things.
Playing the crud out of their instruments is my fav thing ever. Lets go Lovebites. Band-Maid next!
If you think this is heavy (which it obviously is), wait til you hear "Break the Wall" and "Set the World on Fire" 😆 But this band is far from being a one trick pony.
